Alta Bluff Animal Hospital, Jacksonville FL

We have been using Alta Bluff Animal Hospital since Holly Berry was just a puppy. She is familiar with the staff (more so than me since it was during the pandemic). Recently, we had an ER visit with a follow up with Dr. Reinhardt. Being a nervous furmom, they were kind enough to work me into their schedule on a very busy Monday. I cannot say enough kind things from the reception staff (Taylor), and vet assistants (Joan). (I'm sorry I can't remember everyone's name). All of you were extremely helpful and considerate of my feelings. As well as the care you provide Holly. It is so hard to know who to trust when it comes to the care of your pets. In my opinion, Alta Bluff did go above and beyond the call of duty. They definitely have my vote of confidence.

I have been taking my dog here for a few years. They are a vet.nothing more really to say. Friendly, caring, and follow up to ensure the doggie is doing well after the visit.
Frankly, if they weren't worth going to. I wouldn't! So, I guess I am saying I trust them enough to come back.

I had a great experience with a stray we took in to be scanned for a chip. The staff was friendly, professional, and kind to the dog, who was quite unruly as he is just a huge pup and was really excited. I inquired about prices for a new pup exam, tests and shots, as well as neutering. I'd say their prices are comparable to other vets in the area.

We have taken our 2 Chihuahuas for here for years. The staff are always polite and patient and you can tell they love animals. They have always taken good care of our babies, and I would reccomend them to other pet owners in the area for sure.

We have lived in jax for 4 years and luckily haven't needed to come here too often until this past year. One of our girls was starting to have tail issues and she wouldn't leave it alone, and our fluffy man had a partial blockage and bladder issues. Dr. Reinhardt had been down right amazing, squeezing us in so we didn't have to go an er vet, and doing everything within his power to help my babies get through their issues and illnesses.
The staff is by far some of the nicest and friendliest people I have ever met. I am so thankful that we live so close and started coming here a few years ago. Yall have truly been a blessing to my family and I. Thank you for being amazing! /10 rating!

This is actually from a visit from quite some time ago. I live only 3 mi from this vet, and I will never return. I would rather drive all the way to Orange Park for a vet than go to this one. I took my cat in because he was vomiting to the extent of only vomiting liquid and not eating. They did do well with giving him fluids, but they also took x-rays. And even charged me for a duplicate repetitive x-ray for no apparent reason. Even though they sedated the cat prior to. Then they advise I take him to the emergency vet. I politely requested the x-rays to take with me to the vet when I went to pick him up, as it was curbside drop off and pick up. After all, I paid for them.

They ended up emailing me the x-rays. I then sent them to Capital vet emergency clinic. Well, they could not read them and had to do their own. Why? Because I was sent phone photographs of the x-rays hanging up. Not the original X-rays. So they did not have good fidelity that the vet needed. Also, Ulta bluff misread them. They said that they saw a blockage which led to a lot of expense of an ultrasound and stuff that they recommended for Capital to do immediately. So not only did I have to pay for the x-rays yet again, I also had to get extra tests and had the fear of a major surgery on my cat.

I am very displeased with this clinic and will not be back.

I just went to get a chip checked from a stray. Nice girls. I've used Hidden Hills in Fort Caroline for my pets for 8 years and it's way worth the drive.

Amazing place that is very compassionate and knowledgeable. I travel full time in an RV and finding a good veterinarian can be tough but this place is amazing. All staff very friendly and veterinarian is genuine and empathetic. Building is well kept and clean inside and out.

I always get great service and explanations for my pup. However, it’s incredibly difficult to get an appointment in an emergency, even during office hours. We will continue to use them though as they are very friendly and helpful.

I have 3 pups and 2 kitties. I take them all here. They have always been caring and kind to my babies. My yorkie has had some issues with infections in her feet, and they always know what to do to get it knocked out quick. Our baby golden retreiver is being closely monitored by the vet for any issues that may arrise, though she is pretty healthy and happy right now.

Every time we come in, the staff is so loving to my babies when they take them back for tests and things. None of my animals care for going to the vet, but they are never scared when in the arms of the staff here lol. Even my cats are cool when they come which is always shocking.

They have also always been accomodating to me in scheduling so i can bring in the pups together and the cats together which saves me time and energy on our yearly well checks.

They check and monitor known health conditions in my pure bred pups and keep me well informed of any and all things that can affect my babies. We havent had any emergency care needed (fingers crossed), but id 100% trust to take them here for an emergency or after care. They truly love animals!

They helped my sweet-sixteen year old boy cross the rainbow bridge over the summer. I never had to do this before and I’m glad I chose this clinic. The staff was very informative, supportive and compassionate every step of the way. They made every effort to ensure my boy was comfortable, painless and in good spirits as I held him for the last time. That was a day I’ll never forget and I’m happy that they were able to give him the passing that he deserved. Thank you Alta Bluff Animal Hospital!

Have called and emailed without a response in two almost three weeks. Sign says to support local VET but it would be nice for them to return new patient’s contact. I called one more time and am leaving this review. Let’s see if anything changes….

I just love the Staff! Dr. Reinhardt is the best! If you love your fur baby I would take them to Alta Bluff Animal Hospital! You won't be disappointed!
