Alvin's Island - Holmes Beach #753

Great store, prices are okay, what you'd expect to pay for souvenirs (anywhere from $2 on up), sweaters are really soft and cozy, with a ton of different designs. Lots of different jewelry options, candy, etc. Be careful bringing children in with you, as you may wind up spending much more than you anticipated as there are glass and ceramic items. Staff was nice, dressing rooms in back, single bathroom.

Asked to return or exchange something I bought there. Still had all the original tags as I bought shorts for my boyfriend that where to small. Alas I had lost the receipt.
The cashier was rude and indifferent. Needless to say I will never shop there again nor recommend this shop to anyone.
As I live here I will direct all future referrals to our many other businesses that appriciate and treat their customers with respect.

I've been coming here for years. Love the selection of t-shirts, visors and caps. However, the last five visits I've been disappointed that the cashier doesn't smile, no greeting or thank you at the end of the transaction. This is not the attentiveness I've been accustomed to at Alvin's.

Visiting from Oklahoma we don't see these kinds of shops in our area. Visiting Anna Maria Island we had to stop at all of them. This one was really nice inside and full of all kinds of gifts and souvenirs. We walked around looking at all the merchandise. The prices are typical for a souvenir shop. Their variety was a lot more than any other store we had visited that day. The store was very clean and well organized inside. I recommend going to visit if you're looking for beach items and souvenirs. You should be able to find what you are looking for.

Went to this store to pick up some gifts. They had a wide variety of gifts to choose from. The store was nice and clean. The reason I gave it 2 stars is because of the staff. They were very rude. I was trying to shop and they where stocking the shelf’s running into my faince and I. So I just waiting until they where done. So I looped back around. They where still stocking. So I waited a bit and looked at things around that area. Finally decided on what I wanted to get. So I politely asked the lady if I could grab what I wanted really quick. She didn’t say anything. I then said “thank you” and no response. Then the line started piling up. The 2 women who where stocking couldn’t find the cashier. Once they found her, she was very rude. Did not greet any of the customers. No smile… nothing. She looked miserable. I tried to brush it’s off as tho they all had a bad day but my faince had been there a couple days before and had they had the same bad attitude. But honestly they weren’t that busy and if you work in customer service then you should know that even if you have a bad day you still have to be kind and respectful to the customers. I am just very disappointed in there customer service abilities. Especially since I work in customer service.

They have everything! From tshirts to sweatshirts, mugs to shot glasses, bikinis to sunscreen, snacks, hats, beach towels to dresses. They have a great selection, very clean store. Helpful staff.

The Holmes Beach location appears to have a broader shirt design variety and cloth quality than the St. Armands Circle store, probably less traffic. St Armands shelve aisles more clearly labeled for locations (Longboat Key vs Lido Beach etc) but probably caters to customers from more regions. Bought a couple beach umbrellas that were slightly larger width and improved fabric but.ot Nautilus quality so I expect not very durable. Didn't see any sand stakes which if you're going to sell umbrellas without layer screw end that's where the store fell short. But found what we needed compared to nearby shops that didn't have umbrellas or even lower quality if that's possible. Hey guys most of the folks around here have some bucks we're not all cheapos so stock some high quality merch. That's what I temember are stores I want to return to for durability, quality and variety not budget always.

I purchased a sweatshirt from here for my nephew, i pulled the sweatshirt out to show off what sweatshirt I got for him and the zipper had fallen off. I tried to bring it back to the store for an even exchange, unworn, with tag intact, and they refused to let me make an even exchange. I go here every year and trust the integrity of the business where I didn’t think I would need to keep a receipt. I will never shop here again.

Expensive compared to others! And it can get really busy to where you really have no room to look

Came at 9: 30pm on 05/19 and sign still was on saying open and online says open until 10pm but worker was at the front door and waved his hand saying closed.

One stop shop with great prices. My wife could not find a good t shirt for a reasonable price in any of the smaller shops. This store has a great selection of t shirt and a lots of other souvenirs. Also plenty of parking.

Really nice store! The most shirts to select from in one store than any other I visited, and they were decently priced. It was Saturday morning so it was very busy but even when the line was lined thru the isles they cleared them out quick. It was a nice experience.

Very nice collection and you may find everything that you want in a beach day or for a vacation

Went in to get my daughter a sundress, found one. Only $20, hoping for a sale but 20 is a great price. Love this place.

Alvin island store is the best, and the cheapest place on the island. It has so much stuff it's amazing. Just go there first go to all the others. Then go other places. You be going back.

Went into store with my husband and service dog. I cannot wear masks because of medical issues but my husband had his on and explained to the lady why I couldn’t wear one. She got the owner who told us I had to wear one or leave the store or he could call the police. The police came and explained to him that people w medical issues do not have to wear one and cannot be asked there medical issue. So the guy refused us service in general. The police wereWONDERFUL to me as it made me very emotional to be treated so rude about something I cannot control. The police told us he explained to the guy that we could very easily sue him because he refused service for a different reason trying to act like it wasn’t because the cops told him the ADA laws. Very hurtful experience but was very happy with the officers care.

Very great store! They have everything you need for the beach and more! My family and i felt safe and comfortable being in the store. Everyone was wearing a mask. You can tell they really care about their customers. Definitely coming back!
