Ambrosia Treatment Center, Port St. Lucie FL

I was a patient here back in 2016. I was a mess, my spirit was broken. James English a counselor there gave me hope. He speaks in ways you can relate. 5 years later I work for a Hospital in NY in the Operating Room. I have worked hard to change myself, Ambrosia was a great experience and I have learned to turn my addiction from one of my greatest weaknesses to one of my biggest strengths!

Ambrosia changed my life. They have amazing staff that truly cares about their clients and the BEST therapists ever! They also helped me with an aftercare plan! Ambrosia was the best decision I have made for my life and my future.

Worst excuse of rehab you could ever imagine. Staff was completely useless, never knew what was going on. The so called “therapist’s” weren’t at all. Social workers pretending to be someone they’re not. Wish I had my phone to take pics while I was in there to show you what it really looks like. DONT GO HERE YOU WILL REGRET IT!

This place was great! It had some down sides but over all it helped me a lot and the therapy and staff are amazing! I would suggest it

My wife was (is for a few more days) here for a total of 30 days. I was told the food was awful. Also, she went in as never smoking, ever, and while in treatment has gotten two vapes? I’d think a treatment facility would encourage healthy habits, not trade one addiction/habit out for another. My wife hasn’t changed or made any improvements in the 30 days besides not drinking for the time she’s been there. I went to the “family day” and it felt more like a court ordered type class…. The therapist bragged to me about it for my wife and myself, and it certainly didn’t help me gain any insight. I had to basically beg to get her therapist Glenn to get back to me, to the point I had to contact the family coordinator in order to hear any response after 1 1/2-2 weeks. Also, I was lied to on more than one occasion by Glenn… from my wife’s insurance to claiming my wife said she didn’t want things discussed about her. It was offensive as a loved one to have the “trusted” therapist not telling you the whole truth. He also played “middle man” and had lied about things I said/asked regarding my wife and vice versa. Personally I would never recommend this place. It seems extremely immature and novice for a facility that has been around for so long. You’d also think their patients would be treated better instead or shoving 15+ honey buns in their bags and encouraging new habits like inhaling chemicals with unknown consequences. My wife also had told me her expectations of the place were different, but we’re disappointed. The expectation is for your hobby to be solely recovery and meetings, forget having a life… It is claimed this is both a recovery and psychiatric treatment center, and not much was done regarding mental illness, the sole focus was sobriety which was only one piece of the larger issue. To an extent, I’m not even quite sure of the point. I’d recommend a different facility or at least a different therapist (Glenn S, I highly DO NOT recommend him as your loved ones therapist) than the one my wife had.
Edited to add, that the case manager Alex had also lied to me on the phone and took it upon herself to make a judgement call for my wife not to come to her WIFES place. This center was actually the cause of more marital issues by my wife saying one thing, and the staff of the center taking it upon themselves to say another. You’d think places like this would want to make their loved one feel comfortable, but instead, the therapist and case manager apparently took it upon themselves to lie and cause issues. My wife went there for recovery/psychiatric help, not to gain parental figures.

Ben Is amazing and so is the rest of the staff! Literally changed my life and I couldn’t be more happier! I MISS AND LOVE DOTTY! ️️️️

Ambrosia is amazing! Ben is one of the best. He was there for me when I was lost. I was able to talk to him and he didn't judge me. I felt so welcomed here. Would definitely recommend

The staff and counselors there were extremely caring and would go above and beyond. The housing was very nice. You’re not just a patient to them the alumni coordinator Ben stays in touch weekly he’s the best. I would definitely recommend Ambrosia if you’re serious and want the help.

I had a very beautiful and self-revealing experience at Ambrosia. I learned things about myself that I would never have learned had I not chosen this treatment center. I am so grateful for the techs, the therapists, and the owner. I've built relationships here that are life altering. I've discovered that I am indeed worthy of recovery because of the gorgeous people around me that loved me when I couldn't love myself. I am beyond happy with my experience here. I gave it 4 stars because there is room to improve in certain areas such as time management and what not, but the staff was adjusting to changes and definitely do their very best. I love the people here. Thank you, Glenn for helping me fight my demons and let my secrets free. Thank you to all the Ambrosia staff for guiding me through my early recovery, and lastly, thank you to my peers. I wouldnt have made it without you.

I came to Ambrosia on a friend's recommendation and didn't know what to expect. During my stay, the employees were amazing and made me feel so comfortable. The other residents plus the staff make a community, one that would make someone feel at home. I highly recommend Ambrosia to anyone wanting to better themselves and their lives.

Ambrosia really helped me get to the root of my drug addiction, I would recommend anyone struggling with addiction to seek help here. The staff was amazing, from the techs to the therapist! The meetings and groups were also very helpful, you actually get a feel for how the program works! My sober date is September 26,2020, I'm still sober an working through my steps, all thanks to Ambrosia!

Ambrosia is absolutely amazing to get a start in recovery. The staff are understanding and compassionate the therapist are top of the line. The discharge planner is the best in the country

I have been through 14 years of my addiction and I never thought I would be clean and feel this good! Its all because of this place! The best choice I ever made was to get on a plane and come here!

Ambrosia was a former employer of mine so I knew coming here as a client that I would get the help I need. Talk about full circle but I didn’t let that stop me from allowing them to do wonders in my life. They’re EXACTLY what I needed at this point in my life. Coming off a 5 year run, after having 18 months of sobriety, I’ve discovered and learned things about me that I never knew. The therapists and staff here are top notch and pushed me to dig deep within to find my true self. I can’t thank them enough for what they’ve done for me!
