Ambulatory Surgery Center - Tampa

I was so nervous when I read the reviews before my surgery but the experience I had was amazing. I was treated so well today, from the minute I walked in, to pre op and after. Everyone was OUTSTANDING. I don’t remember anything which I wanted before my surgery and the professionalism is top notch. Everyone was so kind and listened, because they knew I was nervous. My podiatrist was outstanding as well Dr. Gavin Oakley has amazing bedside manner and so did the entire staff from the anesthesiologist and nurses. They truly care and you feel safe and secure in their hands. Thank you helping with my anxiety and nerves today. It meant the world to me to have surgery in such a calm and caring environment. Much appreciated to the entire staff.

I recently went here for a procedure I have never had done. Knowing that I was going to be put to sleep for this procedure, along with the type of procedure it was, made me more anxious than usual. When I arrived to the facility there was no wait and the entire staff was amazing. Everyone was friendly, professional and made me feel extremely comfortable. The procedure was done in a timely manner and the anesthesiologist answered all of my questions without rushing me at all. I wish I got his name to reference him
here. He was great! Allyson and Zolly were also exceptionally wonderful with their positivity, professionalism and making me feel welcome. I felt like a person here and not someone they just need to rush in and rush out to make a paycheck. I felt like the staff genuinely wanted me to not worry about anything and showed it through their demeanor. Before the procedure started everyone introduced themselves and let me know their role being in the room. My gastroenterologist is wonderful. I was told what would happen during the procedure and the expected time it would take. I was joking with the staff and didn’t even realize I had been put to sleep! I remember being a little dizzy for like 2 seconds and then BOOM, I was out! When I woke up, it felt like nothing had happened except I took a really great nap. The staff immediately offered me a drink, allowed me some privacy to get dressed, informed me of the results of the procedure (I even got pictures!) and made sure my ride was ready to take me home. They would not let me walk to my ride (for safety reasons) after waking up, which I appreciated, and so I was rolled to my pick-up person to finally say goodbye. This review is my way of saying thank you so much to the staff for such a wonderful experience. I appreciate taking the time to show great patient care; especially when the patient is like me and needs to ask 10 million questions! Thank you!

They don't have a schedule. They only provide arrival times, and then you just wait. I waited for more than 2 hours. They didn't have a scheduled time for my procedure.

The center provides excellent customer services, competent registered nurses, and top physicians.

I had two surgeries at the same center.

Some patients erroneously confuse the ambulatory surgery center with Burger King “quick and cheap”.

The medical treatment is a more serious enterprise.

The day before my procedure I read the reviews and started having 2nd thoughts. I don’t know what the deal was with those negative reviews but my experience was phenomenal. I was originally dealing with Anne for registration and she was awesome, then the week of my procedure she was on pto so I worked with Evelyn via phone and she was just as awesome too and super friendly in person. To me, that place ran like a well oiled machine. Everyone that dealt with me was nice and professional. I will give a shout out to all the staff that dealt with me. I’m also attaching a card that I was given when I left. Registration: Anne and Evelyn, Scheduler: Dawn, Endo/Or Tech: Jessica and Scott, Pre-op Nurse: Susan, Anesthesia: Iris (Dr Gonzales), Endo/OR RN: Andrea and Lillie, and lastly, Discharge RN: Lisette- I was coming out of anesthesia and all I can remember is she kept calling me boo, which once I got home, I thought was funny and personable. I was there at 7am and everything just ran so smooth. No long wait times or anything. Please don’t let the 1 star/ negative reviews dissuade you. I would not think twice about having them handle any procedures for me next time.

I definitely would NOT recommend this facility. The beginning of the patient experience includes walking up to the facility and there is a line going out the door because there is a back up at the receptionist desk. At the receptionist desk, the patient is given at least 10 pages of forms to complete. These forms are in addition to all the medical information entered into an online portal before the day of the procedure. One suggestion I have for the facility is that it would be beneficial if this paperwork was automated and incorporated within the online medical portal. I find one question in the paperwork to be a joke requesting if the patient knows if their physician owns part of the Ambulatory Surgery Center. I don't know, maybe I should ask my physician for his financial information.

When I was called back for my procedure, the personnel wouldn't allow my one family member to go in the pre-op area with me. This has NEVER happened on any other procedure I nor any family have had completed.

After the procedure, I wake up and there are two nurses, one sitting on the bed and one standing next to me, saying they needed to dress me. I told them I could dress myself. The joked that they usually have to help patients dress themselves. This made me feel EXTREMELY uncomfortable. I think this experience was totally uncalled for and again I nor any family member have ever required hospital personnel assistance dressing after an outpatient procedure. It would have been nice to have my ONE family member there with me when I dressed. I know this isn't a situation only I have experienced as I have seen this same comment in the reviews for this
facility.

In my opinion, this facility has a quota of procedures to complete and patient care is sacrificed due to this quota.

Horrible customer service and office management. Do not recommend this place unless you want to spend 6 hours waiting for your appointment. Staff is not helpful or interested in explaining the long wait times for appointments. They need to do a better job scheduling.

My dad came here for a colonoscopy and he was more nervous than me the waiting area was a lil crowded and you can tell it was busy a lil slow with calling the patients back for there appointments we were waiting for quite some time but overall the service was great the nurse who put my fathers iv in was great one time and my dad always has trouble with this part he also told me how great and comfortable they made him feel after his colonoscopy he said the two ladies working when he woke up was amazing and treated him so well and the young lady who brought my dad out helped him in the car and stood there till he was seated and buckled she was so pleasant she told me to write a review on how good we were and to share our experience! Thank you guys for giving my dad a great experience

I was a bit worried, considering all of the 1 star reviews. My experience was great. All of staff were very nice, professianal and seemed very caring to let you know everything that was happening and how it all works. Very greatful for all of their hard work and compassion.

Very good experience, I got to my surgery and everything was fast and very professional. All the staff, from the front desk to the nurses, were very friendly and professional. The same is my Doctor (Guillermo Donate) and the Anestheciologist who are very precise in their explanation of my procedure. Today it's been three days since my procedure and they still call me to see how I feel.
I am very satisfied and I hope they stay that way. Thank you

I recently visited this center. I had THE BEST experience! From the way beginning of walking in the door- i was greeted with a friendly face. The front office staff was outstanding. You could tell they were busy- but they were very attentive to me when it was my turn. Once i arrived in the preop area, my nurse, Allison was above and beyond. I was so nervous for my procedure; however, she knew how to calm my nerves in a very bright smiling profesional manner. Extremely amazing bedside skills. Then, my nurse Maria in the OR was the next friendly face! She was also superb! Surgery went great and then my nurse in the recovery room was Anna. What another bright and smiling caring person I got the pleasure to take care of me. Just such wonderful care by all!

You might be wondering why the 1 star review.right when I stepped In to the preop area- I was Watching everything that was going on. You can also hear everything. They were clearly short staffed just like everywhere else. But the nurses were being pulled left and right being bossed around and another lady trying to make people rushed causing much stress and chaos that was extremely unnecessary. I also experienced this in the recovery room.

These nurses are not valued and respected here. They were working so hard with what they got and the center should consider themselves lucky to have them. They never lost their smiles as they were being pulled all around
Left and right and being treated like they were not working hard enough.

Hire more staff and appreciate your people. I am certain I’m not the only one who notices the chaos. Or you’ll be disappointed when you lose the good ones.

Seeing the reviews made me afraid to go, but my experience was very good, they treated me very well and the nurse who attended me was very sweet to me at all times! The procedure was carried out as it should, I arrived at 8 am and at 11: 30 I was on my way home!

Awful experience. The days leading up to my procedure, I was called multiple times by the front office staff at this location. The first call was to tell me that I owed an alarming amount of money upfront because I was a “self pay” patient. They assumed this because they didn’t receive my insurance from the doctor instead of initiating their due diligence to contact the patient (me) and verify that first. Then I received about 3 more redundant calls of a similar nature where it was clear no one there was communicating. Once I clarified my insurance, I was told that I could make a payment arrangement for my deductible once I arrived at the facility by paying what I could down first. This, was not the case when I arrived. They wanted half of my deductible upfront to set up the payment arrangement. I should also mention that this payment arrangement wasn’t even mentioned as an option until I asked about it due to having been informed over the phone. So I was not given accurate information. The last call I got before the day of the operation, I was told by a Heidi that there was a cancellation so she asked to move me up at 8: 30am. I agreed. Well I showed up at that time and suddenly my appointment is still at 10: 30 and everyone suddenly doesn’t know who Heidi is and I only knew that I wasn’t being helped after one hour in the lobby waiting. Anne and the other staff upfront were very unorganized and unprofessional. One couldn’t even work the scanning machine and was joking about it loudly. This gave me no confidence in this place whatsoever. I didn’t proceed with my procedure and I will make sure people that I love don’t go there. I surely don’t trust getting put to sleep at an office that couldn’t even get my appointment time right not to mention my last name and the address they had for me were wrong. Unprofessional and chaotic. Never again.

First, I had foot surgery and when it was done, they put my walking boot on with the plastic piece that goes on *top* between my foot and the inside of the boot. Now I have a random 800 number calling me, saying I owe money to this place, and I have yet to see a bill. My doctor was fantastic, but this place is a joke.
