Google always asks me to do reviews and I was so waiting for this review to come up. I booked for my 9yr wedding anniversary a trip from Orlando fl to Aruba. I arrived at the airport at 4: 30am and my flight was at 7: 30am.
The check in line was exxxttrrreeemmllyyy long almost out the door and only 3 people working.
We finished that line at 6: 50am. I told my husband this is not looking good cuz we haven't even passed security. The security line went all the way to where the food court is and people were furious. By the time we finished with security we had 8 minutes totake the train and make it to the gate. Well.we ran (yes! RAN) and the lady at the front desk didn't even make eye contact and sarcastically said "yes you missed it sorry" you will be in stand by. Good bye.
Thankfully the next flight i guess lots of people missed it too and they actually manage to take us in. (They sat us together from Orlando to Miami)
Once in Miami we had to take the connection flight to Aruba and since we were already running late we again had to RUN our tongues out to make it to the gate. We got there and they had just started boarding and the lady said my husband was no problem and that I was no where to be found to go to the check in. Keep in mind ALL paperwork was made together. So my husband went in and I had to do another line. The lady at the front desk.check me in and gave me another sit 7 rows away from my husband. So that trip (my anniversary exciting trip) had to be with two other strangers next to me (on my left and right). I asked why I was not sit with my husband when we booked this trip with assigned sitting months ago and they gave me the shoulder as "I DON'T KNOW".
Their service is getting so bad. Jet blue customer service is so much better BUT they don't go to Aruba so I couldn't book with them. Let's hope going back to my country American airline behaves because this was horrendous.

Seems like they are back in full swing ni smiles no hello just a number get on and get off. Asked a gate agent a question in Atlanta and looked like I was asking for his kidney. Fill the bus and push it out seems like they are doing us a favor

We had a flight from DC to Miami with a layover in Orlando.

Our flight from DC to Orlando was average, no complaints. Our flight from Orlando to Miami was delayed an hour. Once we landed in Miami the ramp was closed so we had to sit on the runway for 30 to 45 minutes. We got to our gate and the operator for the walkway was not present and we had to wait another 10-15 minutes on board.

Throughout this whole time waiting the temperature in the airplane started to get uncomfortable and hot. None of the flight attendants offered any water or drinks of any sort because of a short flight. I felt it was necessary for the comfortability of the passengers since we were on board a lot longer than we should have been.

Once we arrived in Miami we were notified our baggage was delayed in Orlando, which the takeoff was delayed and still not quite sure why our baggage was held hostage in Orlando and didn't arrive with us in Miami.

Talking to customer service we had to request that Orlando send our baggage to Miami. We were offered free delivery of her baggage to wherever we were going. Unfortunately our final destination was not Miami and we were staying in multiple different hotels throughout our vacation time. We were told after making the request that flights start at 8: 00 a.m. And we had to wait until then for them to call us to receive our baggage.

It was very inconvenient because we had reservations for a hotel that was 32 miles away from the airport so we had to delay our itinerary plans for vacation to go back to the airport to pick up our luggage in the morning. Which we weren't called until 10: 35 a.m.

So when attempting to call the 800 number, customer service, to receive compensation for the delay of our baggage, was on hold for two Plus hours and then the line got cut off.

This Airline has turned into one of the worst places for customer service! You call for an issue and can mot speak to anyone you can only email? Poor customer service to disabled passengers when they make mistakes it is swept under the rug to be buried in paperwork never to be heard from again. 3 complaints 3 different occasions and NO response or help from AMERICAN AIRLINES! The American Disabilities Act will be hearing from me to do my best to start investigation into the company!

Luggage got lost when they sent us to a different destination due to weather. Granted weather not their fault. Their employees not reading the display when they scan bag tags and sending them to where they are expedited to, their fault. This added 3 days of no luggage on a cruise. Also ripped exterior compartment on luggage. Glad nothing in this compartment.

Not specific to any airline but.can we please start loading the plane from back to front. I cannot count how many people in first class who have been close up and personal with my purse slipping off my shoulder. Lol

Manager Sixto (or xixto excuse our spelling). Was terrible and gave the worst service I’d ever received flying. He didn’t honor another employee who admitted in front of him that he told us the bag was going to be checked for free. We were unaware it was too large bc husband and I had flown with the same bag with the same airlines countless of times and was not told that it was an issue, EVER. Even though the employee admitted it in front of him that he said that he would give to us for free, sixto still didn’t honor it. Will never fly American Airlines again and neither will any of the three companies we own employees/ business travel use this service for any traveling.its crazy how a customer is punished due to poor training on sixtos managerial part on the policies of the company and told one thing is going to be honored then it be a complete different way. They lost thousands due to this $30.00 hope it was worth it sixto, have some integrity and honor what was said already to a customer by a different employee who ADMITTED it in front of us all.
