7Cheapest beer in town. Amazing game nights. Wonderful bartenders. Lunches that are insanely good and affordable. It is a smoking bar. Takes you back in time a little bit I wouldn't go anywhere else. While it's a mostly locals place, tourists are welcome on game night so you can drink cheap and have fun!
I am a member of the Auxiliary at this post and am very satisfied. We have a core group who shows up for meetings and contributes to the community. The members are friendly and welcoming. The bartenders are great, especially Chrissy, George and Tracy. The kitchen and ladies room are very clean, and the food is delicious (thanks to Annie, our cook) and quite reasonable. We usually have karaoke on Friday nights, which is so loud as to preclude conversation. The only downside is that smoking is still permitted.
Nice people! They was willing to help us out with advice on parking down in Key West, the lunch burger special was delicious and had many options to choose from to make it a custom burger and the NUMBER ONE best reason we loved the visit to this location was smoking in the air conditioning!
This is exactly what I look for when I go to a bar.smoking! For the people complaining about it. I'm sure there are many bars around you can go and not be around it. Leave the smokers alone!
Awesome post!
Came here looking for a VFW. They accept VFW members as guests. Very welcoming environment, that seems well run and maintained. Chrissy the bartender was very nice and accommodating. We'll be back for sure.
We were in Marathon overnight and stopped by the legion. Chrissy (sp) the bartender took care of us and was super nice. We were looking for dining options which she took the time give her a opinion and why. She was quick with a drink and all around friendly, we felt welcomed and right at home. Thank you for being so great.
Wonderful bar and place to hang out, amazing bartenders and excellent food. They are LGBTQIA+ friendly They serve lunch from 11am to 2pm Monday thru Friday. Monday is bingo at 6pm, Tuesday is bar poker at 6: 30, Wednesday is black jack at 6: 30, Thursday is show me the money at 6pm, Friday night is karaoke and Philly cheesesteaks, Saturday is Texas hold'em at 2pm Michael J. Plays live at 6pm to 8pm, and Sunday they have a pool tournament at 4pm. Everyone is friendly and the service is great.
I opened the door was shocked to find about 35 people sitting at the bar and some at tables all smoking! I was shocked. It was not a a large area and the smoke in the air was intense. I was turned off as a non smoker and very disappointed. Nothing at all like the enjoyment of Post 138 in SouthTampa. I will not return to the Post in Marathon.
