Adopted Lulu today and she has been a wonderful loving dog for us and our dog Pete. Amanda was patient with us and the dogs through the whole process. Thank you AWL!

They took very good care of my dog, after he had run away and chasing a coyote, and was brought in by a local neighbor. Very clean facility and the staff was awesome.

Great staff! GREAT DOGS! Why pay some unethical breeder ridiculous prices for a designer dog when you can get the best dog ever right here!?

Very caring staff and volunteers for this 501c3. Always looking for more help for all the animals to be cared for and placed in their furever home

Their gift shop is great! All kinds of toys, leashes, and harnesses and benefits the shelter. They even have dog life jackets! If you can't adopt you can shop and it helps.

The staff is helpful and very friendly. We went to drop off donations and they helped get things out of the car. The facility was clean and inviting. Will definitely go there when ready to adopt another rescue. In the meantime, the gratitude I was shown, means I will donate in the future

Had a friend want to look at the cats, was told NO very rudely because she didn't have an appointment. Very
disappointed. This is why you're so full and you're not moving enough out

I've had 3 different animals come to my door and AWL has helped me with all of them. Just recently a stray cat that I had fed a few times and was obviously people friendly (loved at one time, I'm sure) She was so skinny it was horrible to see. I can't care for her because I'm moving, and even though just that past Saturday AWL had held an event with big reductions in adoption fees because of overcrowding, they still took her in. Goddess Bless them.

Wonderful place doing the absolute best they can with EXTREMELY limited resources. I talked to a girl up front to learn a little bit about the place. They are a non-profit, only have a handful of paid staff. The vast majority of the people there are volunteers giving their time and energy to a cause they believe in. They do not euthanize except in extreme cases where an animal has no quality of life or is extremely and repeatedly aggressive. They try to take in every animal they can, so they can get extremely overcrowded at times, but a kennel with food, water, and a roof over your head is better than life as a stray in the FL summer heat. My family has adopted 2 cats and 2 dogs from them in the past 3-4 years, and the pets are all amazing, the process was simple and straightforward, and the staff (or volunteers) were extremely helpful. Please, if you are looking for a new best friend, at least check this place out. And if you want to help the poor animals there and make a real positive difference in their lives, consider donating money or pet supplies, or volunteering there, even if just once a month.

They cared for my dog through his neutering. I'm disabled so their services were greatly discounted.

This is an organization that cares bout you and your pet. These people are dedicated, hard working and very knowledgeable. Please support them in any way you can with donations, food and please adopt their pets waiting for good homes.

Rescued two male kittens here from the annual Kitten Showers, one from this past year and one from 2020. He came with a gift basket that included treats, wet food, 3 toys, a adorable travel water/food bowl combo and sample of his previous diet for smooth transition (brilliant idea!) The cats are absolute joys to have and be around. They're both affectionate, playful and are easily handled. Pictured is Pup-pup (aka Miso now) who is a 6 m/o from a litter of 3 that was owner surrendered. My previous is Jaxon who came from an identical background.
Fair pricing for the animals, especially with their shots, neuter, preventative care for pests and both boys had a clean bill of health. For the previous review of the litter of kittens who had respiratory illness post adoption, the facility makes you sign a waiver that says you acknowledge there may be possible health issues present they are not aware of or that may arise later on.

"Adopt, if you can't adopt, foster. If you can't foster, volunteer. If you can't volunteer, donate. If you can't donate, spread awareness. "
hope to volunteer here one day to give thanks for all they do and to assist with giving these precious beings the love and care they so deserve!

Very disorganized, extremely dirty. Disrespectful in customer service, no one seemed to know what cat was what, or what shots they had. Cat puke everywhere, no litter boxes were cleaned. Its a sad environment, but i would not give them money with the service i was provided.
