One of the nicer hikes in this area. Lots of deep woods. Most of the hikes are along old dirt roads many lined on either side with limestone leftovers from several limestone quarries. There are also some trash piles from human habitation 100 years ago that you can pick through.

What a perfect New Years hike! Perfect weather, well marked trails, wooded canopy with the sun peeking through. Even the puppy agreed!

Ok hike. Rutted terrain and hills make this a moderate hike. Travel to left to see beautiful, rolling pastures.

Great hike with my dog, didn't see another person at all. The yellow trail is constantly changing elevation and surroundings, there is a few roots and rocks to watch out for along the way but overall it's a fairly easy path to follow. The yellow blazes looked freshly painted. Like the other reviews I did find ticks but was not bothered by any other bugs. It's almost all shaded and didn't get hot

Beautiful park. It's a peaceful place for a hike in the forest. It's usually not busy here, so it's a good park to enjoy solitude in nature. The trails are decent and, for the most part, well marked. There are huge old oak trees and plenty of palms, too. The park has a bit of a Jurassic park feel to it. The walk-in primitive camp sites I saw had fire rings and picnic tables.
