Just finished up our 6hr trip and WOW! Im truely impressed with the hospitality and kindness from Captain James, my 7 year old is already asking when we can go back! The boat was phenomenal, extremely clean and well kept and smooth as could be Captain James put us on the FISH! We hammered the Mahi Mahi and went after some amberjack, caught a bunch then hooked a 8ft Shark! That was fun! Highly recommend Apex Charters and will definitely be returning!

I can't say enough good things about Captain James and Apex Fishing Charters. This was our second time using him in the last 3 years. He is the number 1 booked charter on Fishing Booker, and for good reason. It was my 2 boys, my nephew and myself. Captain James did everything perfectly, from start to finish, from keeping in contact with us pre-trip, keeping us informed on the weather and fishing conditions, working with getting us out at a later date because of our first trip being cancelled from bad weather, to explaining everything, to helping the boys with the tactics, all the way to cleaning the fish for us at the end. And that's not to mention all the fish we caught. We never went more than a few minutes without a bite or a fish. We caught mackerel, bonita, lane snapper, mangrove snapper, red snapper, amberjack and a couple others I can't even remember the names of. I've used 20 charters over the years around the country and he's the best one.

This fishing trip was awesome! This was our first ocean fishing experience. Captain James was patient with my sons and made the experience next level. He's a super nice man that knows his stuff! We'll be seeing him again the next time we are down! Book this guy - you won't be disappointed!

APEX = Awesome! This was my first time offshore fishing. Captain James was very attentive and kept asking if I was feeling ok. The boat was clean, comfortable and great nav/fish finder! He did everything possible to put us on fish, which he did and were able to take some great Mahi-Mahi filets home with us. We caught and released (season closed) big red snapper and then proceeded to catch mahi-mahi. He even let me catch a nice Amberjack (which was released unharmed). Bottom line - I would definitely recommend APEX Charters to anyone looking for a good fishing trip. We will be using Captain James again!

I’ve fished all over the world from Canada to Australia and I can honestly say that APEX Charters is what sport fishing charters should be!

Boat - clean, comfortable and great nav/fish finder

Tackle - I was Really impressed with the quality of his tackle!

Captain James is at the top of the list for best Captains I’ve ever fished with; and he did everything possible to put us on fish, which he did and we’re headed home with some great Mahi-Mahi filets.

We caught and released (season closed) our limit of big red snapper within the first hour of fishing and then proceeded to catch mahi-mahi and Bonita nearly non stop until it was time to head in.

Bottom line - I would definitely recommend APEX Charters to anyone looking for a good fishing trip.

Had a great time with Captain James. He was hospitable and a great guide for our family on our charter.

We will be using him next time we’re back in the Destin area.

We never thought sea fishing could be so impressive. Captain James Scott is so nice and we had so much fun with him. We caught plenty of red snappers, but they were out of season. However, after we put them in the ocean, the dolphin came to our boat, so we were really excited. We got one huge cobia and a mangro snapper. Captain James Scott was the greatest contributor who is very handsome, professional and experienced. The scenery on the sea was great and we took a lot of pictures. The trip was memorable! All in all, will definitely come to destin on vacation and book again with him!

Good price, and a great captain. I'll definitely be booking another trip in the future.

If you’re looking for a fishing charter (or dolphin tour), look no further. We booked a full day fishing charter with Captain James this week, and we’re very impressed. We brought up keeper size red snapper all day, and ended up with a few in season fish for the dinner table that night. For those who do charter trips, you know it can be a hit or miss endeavor, as there are so many variables. This one checks all the boxes:

We were asking how far he books in advance to schedule another trip, before we even got back into the bay. We will be booking again in the future, thanks Captain James!

In August 2021 my wife booked a 1/2 day charter for our family, 2 adults, 1 college student, and our 12 year old son. She did this from afar and when we arrived in Destin the weather for our fishing day was rough. We went through with our fishing trip and Captain James Scott (CJS) did a great job of making our trip safe, fun, and we caught fish. CJS worked hard to make this experience a great memory for our family.

I returned to Destin with a good friend and my brother in law for a short vacation. With 3 days of activities we chose to golf twice and fish once. We enjoyed the golf but the fishing excursion was our favorite day and will give us the most memories. The weather was beautiful, CJS found us many great places to catch fish, and we had LIFETIME experiences one of which was landing this huge red snapper (photo attached).

CJS provides an awesome boat, all the gear, tackle, stories, and education needed. He worked hard all day long and educated us on many things which added to an already great day.

We will all be back and be booking Apex Charters well in advance so we don't miss out on the opportunity to spend a day with CJS on his boat!

Captain James took great care of us! Top notch fishing tackle and boat. Very knowledgeable and personable. He worked to put us on fish all day, and then near the end of the day put us on a Large 8’ 400+lb Bull Shark! Captain Jimmy did an awesome job taking me and my husband out fishing.as my husband kept saying, "it was an epic day! " We absolutely loved it! And Jimmy is so helpful and entertaining, what a great personality!

James was super accommodating and the trip was a great success Not only with catching fish but my entire family had a blast.
He was kind enough to provide my sister-in-law with some soothing eucalyptus oil when she got a little seasick. He also packed towels and water for everyone to help us keep us hydrated and our legs out of the sun. He's a great fisherman and a better guy. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a great time in the gulf.

Capt Jimmy was great! We have been out deep sea fishing a number of times on our own and this was our first time on a charter, Jimmy was very knowledgeable and taught us a lot! First time ever I was on a boat that brought up a Wahoo! I would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a good day on the water

We had a great experience on our morning charter! Caught alot of fish and could tell Jimmy knew his stuff. Next time I fish in the Destin again I'll definitely give him a call. Also gave us a military discount.
