Avera-Clarke House, Monticello FL

We booked our guest at the Avera-Clarke House for the weekend of my sons wedding, and were lucky enough to also have the rehearsal dinner and wedding day brunch there as well. The weather was beautiful so we had all the festivities outside in their beautiful courtyard and under their pavilion. Brooke and Nick took care of everything, setting up the chairs and tables with the beautiful white pressed table cloths and turning the outside area into a fairytale setting with twinkly lights everywhere! They were on hand for any needs we had throughout the whole weekend, making sure we had everything we needed without hesitation. When things were forgotten, like music and setting a fire for the chill in the air, they took care of it all! They turned a stressful occasion into one of happy memories, making everything as easy as possible for us so we could enjoy the moment with our family and friends. The whole weekend was flawless. Brooke was hands on with helping plan everything from the time we booked her house for the wedding, until the time we hugged goodbye the day after. I can't thank you enough for helping make sure we made great memories for our family and friends. The ease of having everything and everyone self contained in one area was the best choice I could of made and having it at your home with you and Nick to take care of everything, I will be forever grateful to you both.

I cannot say enough about this exquisite property and the outstanding level of service here. Whether you need a clean, pretty place to sleep or a gorgeous venue for party, this is THE place.

A beautiful Bed and Breakfast, with wonderful service, and hospitality! Our host Brooke could not have been any more accommodating and sweet! She also made homestyle breakfast for us!
Very clean, comfortable bed, beautiful wood and antique, Victorian furniture and decor throughout the main house, with an additional smaller, historic cottage on property, which accommodates up to 4 guests. We stayed in the Queen Anne Room, in the main house, and it was beautiful.
A hidden gem near Tallahassee and Thomasville! Super cute Victorian style Old Floridian home with beautiful property and covered Veranda for receptions and parties.
Easy to get to location from I-10, Monticello is a quiet, small town with North Florida charm.

I never do reviews, but I wanted to make sure everyone knew how amazing Avera-Clarke House is! Brooke was the best! She was a lifesaver when our house had no power & we needed a place to stay. Her service was amazing, the rooms were nice & clean, the accommodations were great. Would definitely recommend!

We stayed 8 nights in the cottage at the Avera-Clarke House, and we would like to echo the other reviewers that Brooke is an awesome hostess (as is her Mom)! She is warm and welcoming and makes the most delicious breakfasts (see the photos below).

The cottage was quiet and comfortable and has a good-size kitchenette. The air conditioner and ceiling fans were just what we needed on the warm and humid Florida nights. Sitting on the front porch watching the afternoon rain showers was therapeutic on many levels.

The Avera-Clarke House is just a short walk to downtown Monticello where there are many more coffee shops and antique stores than when I grew up there. Everyone we met was pleasant and proud of their town with the mossy oaks and the riots of flowers.

This bed and breakfast was AMAZING. Brooke was an amazing host, and was so kind and help. The house is so vintage, and is absolutely stunning. I would give it 6 starts if I could. It was also so close to amazing restaurants (Mafia pizza was incredible) and Brooke made a delicious breakfast. The one thing is the wifi is very slow, but when you are staying at this beautiful place, that doesn’t even matter. Overall, I would highly highly recommend this place.

This was our first time visiting Monticello and we lucked upon the Avera-Clarke House. Our host, Brooke was very welcoming and we had a great time chatting with her. The room was very clean and comfortable and breakfast was delicious. We have stayed in many B&B's, and this was probably my favorite. The grounds are beautiful and the house has a calm, comfortable feel and is centrally located to walk the town. We will definitely stay here again on our next visit.

Recently we held our son and bride to be engagement party at this spectacular venue! We reserved all the rooms to help accommodate our out of town guests. The rooms are spotless and the whole house smells SO good! The grounds are spacious and beautifully decorated. There were so many options for our set up. It was absolutely perfect. The new owners were accomodating, helpful and super communicative! We actually had a fun time with all the planning meetings! I just can't say enough good things about the whole experience! I can envision an entire wedding weekend at The Avera Clarke! If only 10 stars was an option. Thank you Brooke, Terri and Nick!

My daughter and I recently stayed at The Avera-Clark House in Monticello and we had a wonderful time. The rooms were impeccably clean with comfortable beds and pillows. The vintage décor was so nostalgic and perfect for what we were looking for. Brooke’s attention to detail combined with her natural ability to make us feel comfortable made for a warm, welcoming stay. She made us fresh home-made biscuits using local ingredients that were out of this world. The owners were so nice and gracious to show us around the property. Excellent space for outdoor functions as well. With lush, green gardens dotted with fruit trees, vineyards, a trellis, and a relaxing water fountain. Such a warm, beautiful oasis…. We will definitely be returning to The Avera-Clark House.
