Great place for car, suv or van rental. It's an Avis/Budget Car rental place with a variety of vehicles. Great customer service and they are open till 6pm thank god.

I rented a vehicle through the Avis web site the day needed. I’ve heard of issues with same day rentals using Expedia. I needed a one way to Atlanta. When I arrived the attendant was resting in the back and told me they had no cars. It was well over 2 hours since I made the resection. No call, nothing. They had my mobile number. Ridiculous system worse customer service.

Avis needs a new CTO. Their customer service call center and website do not match anything the rental car companies on the ground say. This leads to customers, like me, wasting time and getting bait and switched if we can get a car at all.

I arrived after being sent here with a prepaid reservation at another location that “had no cars. ” I was promised this location had several of my cars by customer service. It did not. It also was not open reasonable hours nor did it support after hours drop boxes because “the drop box was vandalized. ” When you do get the keys to your matchbox car you’re sent into the woods of the parking lot to find it with no real direction…. Pressing the alarm as your only guide.

The only redeeming factor was that the staff were pleasant, if not helpful. You could tell they were embarrassed by the level of service they were being forced to provide at this location.

The manager, Justin was very friendly and made the experience of picking up my rental car on Oct. 3rd 2022 easy and enjoyable. Dropping off the rental on October 7th the employee who checked my vehicle in, Katie, verified the total cost of my rental, which matched exactly with what i was told when I picked up the car. Several days later when the charge posted on my credit card statement I noticed being overcharged. I drove to the Avis location to figure it out and again encountered the employee Katie who I returned the car with. She advised me there was nothing she could do to assist me outside of pointing to a phone # posted next to her desk. I asked if she would mind calling the number from her landline business phone since there were no other customers to assist. She refused and said I would need to use my cell phone to make the call. I called from my cell phone but after a 30 minute hold time the Avis representative said she could not assist me and the call was disconnected. Katie gave me a second # to call with the same results. That representative kept apologizing but said she could not figure out how to stop "muting" my call. Almost an hour and a half later when i was at my wits end i asked Katie for her name so I could lodge a complaint she refused to give me her last name as did the employee who was now sitting next to her who said his name was Ricky and that everyone who worked at Avis knew who Ricky was so i shouldn't need his last name along with telling me i probably had something against him because he had an accent and then accused me of being racist. I told him i did not think it was racist to want assistance from the local Avis office I rented the car from rather than a customer service representative in another city, state, or country who had no knowledge of the situation unlike the person who was standing in front of me. Ricky then proceeded to mock and taunt me. Katie happily drank a soda and smiled as I walked out having decided to let my credit card company handle this for me. When I got home and called them they told me Avis had charged me for an additional day. This experience was exhausting and degrading. Such a shame as I had rented from them many times previously and was very happy with the experience and had recommended them to friends.

As a Avis Preferred member, I was disappointed when I arrived to pick up my vehicle and it was not ready. At 4: 55 pm on 10/21/2022, I was handed the rental agreement and told my car would be brought to me curbside. I had to wait until 5: 30 pm for the car to arrive because it was not cleaned. Then the car driver informed me that there was a light on the dashboard instrument cluster indicating the tire pressure was low. He went to get an air pump to inflate the tires. Next, I was told the tire would not inflate past 18 psi. I had to return to the car rental counter to receive another vehicle. This process lasted until 5: 47 pm. My reservation was for an Intermediate SUV and the car was changed to a Dodge Charger. When I asked if there was a difference in price for the rental, the desk agent said yes, but he could not change the rate because I had prepaid for the rental. I was informed I had to call to 800 phone number to adjust the rental rate. He also stated I could exchange the rental car at any other Avis location. It was a great disappointment to be have to wait and not receive the vehicle that I reserved for a specific purpose as an Avis Preferred Member. I am not satisfied with the service I received nor the amount of time I had to wait for a vehicle that was reserved in advance. This not why I became an Avis Preferred member. This type of customer service is awful and completely unacceptable. In addition, this rental location has reduced their hours of operation at an airport site. The hours of operation are: Monday - Friday 7: 00 am - 6: 00 pm; Saturday 8: 00 am - 4: 00 pm; Sunday 9: 00 am - 1: 00 pm. These hours are very restricted for the ease of being able to rent and return a vehicle.

Staff was helpful both when picking up and returning. We went in a week early to ensure that there would be our choice vehicle available and Mike was super helpful. Despite the truck we had chosen being gone our second opinion was.
When we returned the Buick enclave Mike was there and made our return super simple.
Will be renting from this location (Ocala Airport) from now on!

Mike at Avis at the airport is great. My wife and I were in desperate need for a rental. Our car blew a coil at 4pm this past Friday and was undrivable and wouldn't be repaired until the following Monday. Mike was very friendly and understanding of our situation and boy did he come through, we were able to take care of all our errands and got everything done this weekend we needed to do. None of this would have been possible if it wasn't for Mike and Avis. So if you ever find yourself in need of a rental by all means go see Mike at Avis at the Ocala airport. You won't be disappointed. Thanks again Mike you're a rock star.

Avis is awful. It isn't just this location - during my recent rental I also dealt with the location on Pine, the one at the Gainesville airport, and their main office / corporate line. The vehicle they lent me had a major mechanical issue that made the car feel unsafe to drive. Despite speaking to several employees at the main office & local offices, the most anyone did for me was suggest that I try to make it to an Avis in a larger city, where there would be no guarantee that they would have a replacement rental. By the time I secured an alternative vehicle, I had lost a full day of my vacation. To top things off, the replacement rental had a tire with a slow leak that I had to refill a dozen times during my possession of the vehicle. With all of that inconvenience, no one at the company did so much as apologize for the inconvenience - they were not helpful and they simply did not care. Next time I'll pay the $20 difference and go with a better company.

Vvery bad experience on Mother's day when I went to pick up my prepaid rental on 05/08: 2022 @ OCF the car was not ready until after 35 minutes later because the Agent on duty went to wash the car only after he got me sign the contract at 12: 58 pm without telling me upfront although there appeared to be other available cars. That delay on Avis part caused me to miss my checking time at Westgate Resorts in Cocoa Beach, Fl on my wife's birthday vacation. No wonder that hurts my wife's feeling and almost ruin our celebration on Mother's day.

Making a reservation is useless, the vehicle (5 or 9) passenger SUV we requested initially was not available. Had to rent 2 vehicles which separated our church group.

First, the registration for both vehicles I was given were expiring during my rental time. I returned the first, but the second had the same issue. Luckily I was not stopped by law enforcement. I understand COVID-19 is causing issues for everyone, however I had no problem renewing my registration during this pandemic. With that said Avis needs to to better. I should not have to worry about an expired registration on a rental car. Lastly, my rental was not checked in the day I returned it. I returned my rental on-time at approximately 2: 58 PM on July 05,2020. The agent at the counter stated his computer malfunctioned and needed to be rebooted. He advised me that my rental would be checked-in within 5 minutes. My rental was not checked in until about noon the next day July 06,2020. This is unacceptable customer service. I understand the computer issue, but he should have done what he promised a customer, especially when his actions could have cost me money. This is the second time something like this has happened. The only difference is the last time it did cost me time and money. Luckily, I was able to get a refund. After the prior issues I decided I would not rent from Avis again, but gave the company another chance. My goodwill was repaid with another customer service failure. After this incident, I can no longer rent from Avis. It is unfortunate, but I do not like dealing with preventable problems when conducting business.

Wouldnt give this place 1 star they are ridiculous! I wanna warn other people of this place so you dont go through this! There employees are rude as hell! We made a reservation had a CONFIRMATION number and drive 3 hours out of our way for the guy to tell us there was no cars what so ever! NEVER EVER GO THROUGH THEM! ENTERPROSE WILL AT LEAST MAKE SURE THEY STICK TO WHAT THEY SAY!

It was easy to reserve and pay ahead via the app. When I walked in to pick up car, they had me out literally within a few minutes. Great cars, although the change oil sign came on, they made sure I was well taken care of, again in matter of minutes. They are my go to and if no cars are available, I really don’t see myself booking anywhere else!

This car rental agency is the worst of the worst.we rented a car by phone, they sent us a confirmation number with a photo of the car price and others and within 10 minutes we went to pick it up at the branch located at 1506 S Pine Ave, Ocala Fl 34471 and when we arrived the man was renting the same car to Another person and simply told us in very bad ways and very bad treatment that there was no car available, we called AVIS on 3 occasions where we had made the reservation and they began to pass the problem from one place to another and nobody solved the problem or He gave us an answer so I do not follow anyone who hires his services because they are very unethical of professionalism and have no seriousness or commitment to his clients

Employees are always very nice and considerate when renting from here. Avis in Ocala airport is my go to car rental.
