Worst experience ever, so many issues and complaints. We will never rent from Avis ever again. Avis did not notify us about requiring a credit check and credit card at pickup time. Me and my family arrived to check out our vehicle and we were told we needed to submit to a credit check and give them a credit card, we were confused because we pre paid online via debit card and we paid in full for the three day rental. So we did not come prepared with credit cards at the ready and we did not drive ourselves to this location we were dropped off by UBER so we were basically stranded at this Avis location with no rental vehicle and hours away from home. The reality of the situation is we were never told to bring a credit card, we were never told we needed one, Avis was already paid "IN FULL" for this rental vehicle. After several hours of waiting we were finally able to accomidate them and provide them with a credit card, we proceeded with picking up our rental vehicle and we left the location but thats not the end of this nightmare car renting experience lol, we were maybe 4 miles away driving when we noticed a very loud thud sound coming from the right passenger side wheel/suspension area. This loud noise happened over and over again while driving down the road, every time the wheel or suspension moved it made the noise. Me and my wife looked at eachother and we talked about returning the van and get something else but the truth is we were already well away they did not have anything else available that would accomidate our large family so we had to make do with what we had if we wanted to get the hell out of there and make it home that night. So we kept the van and proceeded on, Well after a few hours we noticed this sound was becoming more and more nerve ratling and it was causing our newborn child to cry and not sleep so this caused us to panic and become more agitated. Overall the car drove fine and it did not break down but good lord it was horrible driving something that made such loud noise constantly while cruising down the road. WORST car rental experience ever. Overall it was bad, I will never rent from Avis again and we will never allow ourselves to be in that position again specially when we did everything in our power to make things smooth and easy.

Worst rental experience ever. Needed to extend the drop off time by 12 hours, and was charged 2/3 the price of the WEEK LONG rental I’d just paid in order to do so (almost $200, when the whole trip was $300). NEVER, ever use this company! Scam, scam, scam!

The process to rent the car online and pick up in person. It went very smoothly. However, I feel as though the car could have been a little cleaner. There was a full tank of gas and the outside had been washed with the inside vacuumed. I do feel as though the council could have been wiped down along with the dashboard. Both were a bit dusty. There were also fingerprints on the GPS screen. In light of Covid and germs being passed I was a little grossed out that it had not been wiped down. Those are just my personal preferences all in all I do recommend Avis and it was a seamless transaction.

Used a few times from large international airports and smaller regionals, so far has been a great straight forward rental experience

The vehicle broke down twice in over 100° weather. First time for over 45 min on the side of the hwy. Could not finish the one hour drive with any air conditioning, the radio on, phone charger, gps, or the car with die. Called Avis’s customer service and their response was “sorry. ” Absolutely horrible experience!

My boyfriend rented a car one way from Atlanta GA to Gainesville FL and was charged for a 3 day rental when he returned it that same night via drop off! Not only that, they claimed he had it for 3 days and only drove 100 miles which can’t be right since its a solid 260 miles from Atlanta to Gainesville. When he called to ask about it, they told him that its the risk he took dropping off the car that same night even though key drop off is a listed option. They sent him in circles and told him they would email him about the issue and never did. Not to mention half the calls never went through despite it being office hours due to no one answering the phone. Poorly run

I rent from Avis in Jacksonville and Gainesville on a regular basis, both locations provide awesome service and clean reliable cars.

Dependable cars, excellent customer service. We rented a car for a road trip from Florida to Canada. When we were in Buffalo our car presented a mechanical problem, and they replaced it with an upgraded car. We loved!

This location is much better since James and his crew has taken over. Great experiencing booking a last-minute "mystery car" rental for the weekend. Excellent customer service, friendly staff that made pick-up and drop-off super easy and fast.

I witnessed the employee berating another customer. I was rented a car that did not perform up to safety standards and had to return it for another vehicle. When I returned my vehicle at the close of my rental I was disrespected and berated by the same employee while my granddaughter was present. I am an Avis preferred customer but I will go elsewhere.

First time renting from Avis at the GNV airport location. Friendly, easy pickup, clean car. Drop off was fine. There was a long line, which didn’t impact me except I would have liked to change the card my rental was charged to. The person at the desk certainly could have used some help. The signage in the parking lot for drop off was not very clear (faded by sun) but if you picked up there, it was easy to remember where to park.

This is the worst Avis I’ve ever used. I have to use them for work and they only ever have 1 person working and it seems to take 20-30 mins per person. I don’t know why they can’t have more staff during busy times. This is unbelievable!

I rented a Cadillac CT4 in Gainesville, Florida on May 13th and returned the car to the airport on May 14th as scheduled (I have photos on my phone with the timestamp of the return). When I went to return the key at the front desk, I found that there were no staff members there. I asked nearby rental companies, and they told me to drop the key in the box. So I dropped the key into the box. I didn't feel it was very secure, so I waited for the staff to arrive. They didn't show up until 9 PM. However, the next day, I noticed an additional charge for late return on my credit card statement. I can provide the photos I took of the car return with the timestamp, as well as the photo of me dropping the key into the box for your review.

Waited for over an hour. They couldn’t seem to complete anyone’s order. Would not let me rent with a debit card after waiting for so long. Absurdly ridiculous DO NOT RENT HERE.

Avis is an awesome place to rent rental cars from I rent often.this past week wasn’t so great for me when I got to the airport and got my vehicle it was lots of animal fur on the seats not clean to the regular standards and the car smelled a bit Smokey I contacted customer care but never got a returned call. My experience at Avis Car Rental was nice and easy I booked online entered credit card info and all I walked in the went over the agreement pretty quickly I installed signed and was on my way in under 30 mins and when I dropped off it was even quicker and everyone was polite and courteous. Great Job

We recently rented a car in Gainesville Florida and found that Avis had the best prices. When we arrived, they offered us a free upgrade and the women working at the counter were friendly and easy to connect with. This is our 2nd time using Avis and we will continue to do so. The car we received was not very old, had low mileage and was CLEAN! Thank you Avis!
