Babcock National Golf Club reviews
15Lovely course, but had to deal with extreme wind and no beverage cart and the snack stand was closed for some reason on a Sunday afternoon. The experience definitely left room for improvement, but I'll give it another shot because of the course design. The clubhouse staff was extremely friendly and the aquatic driving range was fun.
We played on a cool misty day. THE golf course looks longer than it is, we played from the white tees. It's very forgiving in the driving areas with a lot of room to land the ball. Greens were in good shape but not fast because of the weather. It's a nice challenge.
I don't golf and can't afford Babcock ranch but if I did and I could, I would! Babcock ranch is a super cool place in my opinion.
I generally like Babcock National as a golf course but my experience in the pro shop with Jeff Howard was miserable. He was enforcing cargo pants as a dress code violation without giving any warning.
There is not any notice of this in the pro shop but only on the website. It is not directly apparent there either. I had to either purchase a pair of shorts or leave. I had to buy because I was playing with a group.
The shorts I had on were a $80 pair of hiking shorts from Eddie Bauer. Also shorts with a side pocket are sold by Greg Norman and other golf manufacturers. The rule being enforced was not being universally applied either. Jeff was staunch with me.
Jeff's attitude was not acceptable. Our group will never come back. We know that Ryan, the head pro, would have at least given a warning. Geez. It is right before Xmas afterall.
Upon entering the course for our time at 4: 57, the woman at the front desk Sam, had a bad attitude. She was giving us attitude and being snobby. We finally got everything ready and got our carts, the course is beautiful. We saw alligators and lots of fun birds, and the carts are super nice. We were only able to do the front 9 because the sprinklers turned on at 730 and cart return was 7pm, we decided to turn in the carts and was told by a super nice man named Tony that we would be able to get refunded for not being able to complete the course and we shouldn’t have any problems. He was great to talk to and had the best attitude. We called back today to get the refund (partial) and Sam answered the phone. She said it wasn’t possible at all and that Tony has no authority, with again, a terrible rude attitude. We asked to speak to her manager, and got Ryan. He was extremely nice and understanding and completed our refund with no issues at all. It seems Sam might need more customer service training. If it weren’t for Tony, Ryan, and the pretty course, Sam made us not want to come back.
Play while you can, rumor has it they’re going private. It’s fun, conditions are good, & greens roll true. A staple in my course rotation.
The coarse was nicely done! I really enjoyed playing there with my brother in law who lives in the community, the people in the golf shop could have been a little more interactive with me but all was fun!
Course was decent, overall experience was horrendous. The starter on the first hole asked us (3 players) to let a two some play through. Ended up the whole course was over booked and spent 10 mins at each tee box waiting to tee off. I am a novice golfer but I know etiquette isn’t to take 3 tee shots when groups are waiting to play. Ended up calling it quits at the 14th due to the constant delay. Granted this is summer time and normally slower. Couldn’t imagine how many they book in season to squeeze every last dollar in.
Great value and the course is in great shape. Outside staff john was amazing and very helpful. Made us feel very comfortable for our first experience.
Beautiful course in beautiful shape. Worth a trip out to Babcock Ranch. Price is good too!
Meticulously maintained golf course. Greens are impeccable, fast and challenging. Once trees are planted, scenery should improve as only newly constructed homes borders the course.
Worst place to work at people are so rude you show up on time for work and they say go home your late
What an awesome course! If you're in the Ft Myers/Punta Gorda area and like golf do yourself favor and set up a tee time! It's competitively priced, has an excellent range, chipping, and putting area. The course is long but wide open for most drives.
Loved the course, but the staff acts like their ship doesn't stink, very unwelcoming. Ranger yelled at us for hitting a second tee shot on first hole. Other than attitude, enjoyed the course very much.
It is always windy there because the community and foliage isn't built out yet, but I like the layout. The cart barn guys are great, the starter is always nice as well. The distances are fair, however there is some hidden water making it worth playing with someone who has been there before.
