Back 40 Urban Fresh, St Johns FL

We came here for a late lunch a few weeks ago and thought the food was great. The service was a bit slow in the beginning. It was “Seat Yourself” seating and took a while for someone to come over and acknowledge us and ask what we want to drink. Everything was fine after that. We’ll be back!

Waitress was very pleasant. The sweet potato fries were delicious, cooked perfectly. The Drunken burrito was very good, would definitely get this again. My mom got a wrap, and said it was really good. Good experience, good food.

This is our favorite restaurant to go to in the Fruit Cove area! Love the food, the drinks and the atmosphere! The pretzel is the best I've ever had. The servers are always very nice. Love, love, love this place!

This place has a decent atmosphere. There are plenty of tvs, a decent amount of seating, and a nice bar area. The staff were kind of off-putting. Not really smiles all around. But they were nice when serving. They get a low raring for me for the food. The rice and beans were so bland. It was not seasoned at all. It just seems like some rice with a can of beans heated up and dumped on top. The tacos are somewhat creative but not memorable. They have a vegetarian version of a taco but no vegan options. They veggie taco is sweet potatoe fries in a soft shell with a mayo based sauce. Not bad. This being said, I really believe we should support our local community, so they have a good variety of tacos. They have a burger and plenty of drinks. So if you enjoy drinking alcohol and eating tacos, this may be the place for you! Give it a shot at least and see what you think.

The food was OK at best and overpriced for what you get. The meat was dry and lacked flavor and the sweet potatoes were so salty I couldn't eat them.

I had a company meeting here, and the staff was excellent on accommodating my needs. They even loaned me a laptop for the meeting because I was having issues with mine. Thank you so much Cap and Alyssa for a great experience.

Bartender with the pink hair was very attentive and knowledgeable, the male bartender with her was funny too.she suggested a few $3 happy hour tacos & local beers and they were delicious, will be returning.

First time to this location but I've been going to the cafe in St. Augustine for years. Very tasty, affordable, wonderful service.

Took an hour from order to food on table. Server was not particularly attentive during that time - no updates or anything. Forgot drinks 2x. Have had better experiences there in the past; will give them another chance.

My boyfriend & I decided to check this place out since we haven’t been before and we are so happy that we did!
The food was delicious (I had the dynamite shrimp tacos & my boyfriend had the jerk chicken quesadillas) & the service was great! Our server Cab was very attentive and friendly! Went above and beyond for us!
We definitely found a new favorite place

Really delicious tacos. We tried the jerk chicken, brisket, and pork chimichuri tacos, jerk chicken nachos, stuffed avocados, and beer cheese queso. Everything was very tasty.

1-star is for the ambiance as it is a cool little spot, food is pretty good But the service smh

Arrived with 75% of seats taken and 4 servers on the floor which would keep them at about 4 tables each which shouldn’t cause any issues.

6: 10 arrived, drink order put in few minutes later
6: 25 drinks finally arrived
6: 35 ish order taken
Then no one returned to check on drinks smh!
7: 06 went to bar to get glass of wine
7: 16 explained to Mgr? Another server originally told us there was no Mgr working! Isn’t that a Liquor License violation?
7: 20 got my own water refill at bar
7: 27 food arrives (2 burritos, 2 tacos, & kids Mac & cheese, that’s all we ordered!)
7: 33 I’m done typing this as I’m eating my meal, finally! Good lord!

Food was absolutely amazing. Happy hour has $3 tacos and so you can try all different ones! The only thing I would change is having back ground music on. Idk if it was a juke box or what because sometimes it was playing but sometimes it was awkwardly silent in there.
Highly recommend the adult Capri Sun and the white tea shot!

Went over yesterday, they had St. PATRICK'S theme going on. Beers were green. Food was not that bad,
