Bahia Honda State Park reviews
18The cost to enter is based on the number of people you have in the vehicle, but count on $9-15 for a day visit. When you go in, turn to the right to go to the old railroad Bridge, shop, a beach, etc. Turn left and there's a mile long Beach with lots of parking. The drawback is that they don't clear any of the seaweed away for eco reasons. Camping is available, but the spots are reserved far in advance.
This is a great place to swim and learn a lot about the old Keys and its railroad. Plus, a sign post with Lexington, MA on it. Who knew?
Beautiful place to explore. Have been numerous times and still can't get over the view. Beaches on both sides, clean bathrooms, bath changing rooms, and showers. Store with hot meal choices, cold drinks, and ice cream. Plenty of souvenirs to browse through. You can rent beach chairs, umbrellas, and kayaks. Walkway takes you to the old railroad Bridge, again the view!
I met me a tourist at a bus stop in Key West one morning, I showed her to the more picturesque places so she could take pictures. We then went to Bahia Honda & spent the afternoon relaxing on the beach. Good times.
Great place. You can swim in the Gulf and walk across the parking lot and swim in the Atlantic.
Our absolute favorite beach in the keys so far. The entire key is dedicated to this state park - there are walking trails, bathrooms, a small store/ cafe area, and multiple different beach’s. There is a small fee for entry unless you have a pass. Dogs are allowed to walk on the trails but not on the beach.
There are 2 main beaches and the south side beach had lots of sea grass and almost made it impossible to enjoy the beach. The other side, Calusa beach I believe, had more sandy areas to lounge. Small trail up to the railroad bridge. Very nice looking shower house. There is a snack bar but very pricey!
Rather small but still a beautiful place. And is definitely worth seeing. Went kayaking here.
Visiting from NY, this park was amazing. With clear blue water and plenty of parking, this place is perfect for a day at the beach with kids.
This is a Beautiful place to visit and bring the family
The amenities " showers, bathrooms, changing room, BBQ's and picnic area for $ 2.50 a person is a incredible value.
The Beach area on both sides are just inviting in everyway, just nicely kept natural but extremely comfortable. We found this State Park a couple of years ago and just keep coming back.there is also Breakfast/ Lunch /Snacks AND ANYTHING YOU NEED FOR THE WATER and soft serve Ice cream for the family.located just outside of Marathon. I'm so glad we found it and the family enjoys it every time.
There's not a ton of "Beaches" in the southern keys.this is a great 1 if you're down that way. There is an Atlantic facing beach, and also this beach on the opposite side, which is great depending on conditions and wind.
We saw a manatee and a nurse shark. We ate raspberry and lime sherbet and had a most relaxing fun day at the beach.
One of the best spots in the keys, hard to get a spot so make preparations well in advance. Great day use even if your not camping.bring snorkel gear
We saw this place on a business trip 7 years ago and vowed to return
Still amazing but much less beach
Stopped here on the way home from vacation in Key West. Well marked walking trails. Interesting to see dilapidated railroad bridge. Beaches not that large and lots of seaweed. Peaceful area.
Fun little state park. The beaches weren't terribly busy and checking out the historical signs was jnteresting. Nice bathrooms/changing rooms and outdoor showers for rinsing off.
Great atmosphere and pretty quiet on the beach. We went to the sandspur side and it was great. $9 for 2 people was well worth it.
