When I arrive at the hotel and register, I find that there are two buildings of the same hotel, my room was in the small building, which I found deteriorated and dirty. In order to stay in the largest building I had to pay an extra amount.

Start my stay that way; then I go to the pool area where it was really where I live an unpleasant moment, as a welcome they give me a ticket with two free drinks, I go to the pool bar, I choose the drink and I present my ticket to the man who serves me at the bar He speaks and I notice some discomfort in him and I can't understand him clearly for two reasons:
1. The music was very loud.
2. My English is not fluent, my companion tries to help me by communicating with said person from the bar and he continued with an intimidating attitude, not friendly and despicable, we knew nothing more to do than turn around and leave there with a lot of anger for him bad service that we received there, we could not enjoy the pool facilities due to the attitude of that man who was not professional or friendly.

We requested room service to replace shower gel and shampoo that were empty and we never received the service.

In general, it was a rather unpleasant experience, bad smell and really dirty corridors, a lot of disorganization in all the facilities and little kindness of the staff that works there.

This place has a lot of good qualities. However, it has far too many bad ones lying just underneath the surface the force me to have to give it a bad review. I came in to check in around 11: 30 AM. I need a room whenever you’re ready since I’ve said it has a 4 PM check-in, which is annoying late in the day. I don’t know why it takes so long to clean her room if just check out is at 11AM?

So the trouble started when I came to check in and was told that we should have a room ready in a couple hours. I knew it was a possibility that our room when I’ll be ready until 4 PM. Exactly 3 other people were behind me in line and checked in just after me. Everyone of those people have the keys to the room by 2 PM. At 3: 45 PM I asked about my room and it was still not ready. They told me they would call me and not to worry. I have been given a key to the premises, but that he did not work since I was not checked in. I have no access to the pool, was charged for parking, and have difficulty getting back onto the premises when I walked over to the beach while waiting.

At 4: 30 PM I went back up to the reception and asked if my room is ready because they were already over the time promised, which is 4 PM exactly. I told him I’ve been waiting since before 1130AM. I was told “oh yeah, it seems your room has been ready. ” so even though I left my number and asked several times no one called me even though they PROMISED that they would. This inattention to detail really ticked me off especially when no apology was given. So my experience here started with them stealing over half an hour from my time at the hotel.

The rest I’ll leave as a list.

(1) The food here is subpar and extremely overpriced. The MarKet has $3 pizza slices that are the only thing worth buying the rest include $5 cans of soda, $5 mini bags of Doritos, just ridiculously priced, price gouging more like it.

(2) The skywalk is a nice idea but it’s a long walk and no wheelchair accessibility to most areas.

(3) There’s no way to call reception or housekeeping. The phone ringing off the hook, but no one will pick up.

(4) They close the skywalk at 9 PM so if you wanna take a stroll in the Beach area in the evening, they will lock you out and then the only way to get back to cross a very dangerous street with no lights for walkers.

(5) Most of their food choices are open and close within a couple of hours so you better have your timing just right. The only place that’s open all day is there bar in there main lobby. However, that place is extremely packed and I’ll have one person usually working there so it will take forever and of course everything is extremely over priced.

(6) The pool area isn’t too bad but the pool is way too small for all the guests in the hotel. Too many kids splashing water everywhere.

(7) The Las Olas Strip is JUST outside of walking distance due to the intense Florida heat so you HAVE to Uber back and forth all day and a hotel like this should offer a shuttle service to and from.

(8) The rooms are pretty plane but do the job. However the bathroom is tiny and the nozzle in the bath tub was nearly impossible to get working.

Overall I would give this place a 2 because it really has a lot of potential and could be a great hotel if it just fixed a few of these issues. The staff was very friendly and except for reception, they tried to be helpful.

Bahia Mar is a great vacation spot! Right on the beach and close to night life. With many restaurants and store's close to the hotel

Staff were very nice and helpful. Several family members and friends stayed here as well. My grandma has a hard time getting around and they provided us with a wheelchair for her to use.

All of our rooms had foul odors. Our room smelled moldy, my mother and grandmas room smelled like a litter box. We had to keep the sliding door open most of the stay (it's August and HOT) and we bought febreeze to use on the carpet be able to tolerate the smells. We moved the table over in the room and it was wet underneath it. First time walking on the carpet in the room I could feel wet spots under my feet.

There was also some substance on the mirror next to the bed, seen as soon as we walked into the room the first day. We both only had half a roll of toilet paper in our rooms at check in. Not a clean place at all.
Their smaller building is even worse.

Don’t go to this hotel. They don’t care about guests, travelers shouldn’t give them any business.

There was dirt on the floors in the rooms, the food service was horrible it took 1 hour to get some chicken tenders.

It's just old. This was a world class hotel when it was built. It will probably be torn down soon, it should be. Took an hour to get out of the parking lot during a special event.

Best of all worlds beach to the right (with supplied chairs and towels) pool to the left restrooms that are immaculate - a full service bar with a wonderful bartender

I had a terrific stay during a quick three day two night trip for a business seminar.

The location was wonderful. I too a five mile walk each morning on a beautiful brick walkway by the beach. It is also close to many restaurants and bars facing the beach.

There is an elevated walkway.turn left and you are at the beach. Turn right and you are at a relaxing second floor outdoor pool area.

All the staff was friendly and helpful.

Can’t believe that they allow rude people with a bad attitude to be a manager at this hotel yes Shirley I’m talking about you! Very unprofessional and not customer service experience. Made me and my family wait for over an hour for our room that we were supposed to check in by 4pm and didn’t have the common sense to be nice! So I slipped and fell by the pool and now I’m limping for the rest of my vacation she didn’t even care! Also the food was nasty there was huge cockroaches in my room absolutely disgusting stay away from this hotel!

BEWARE - the stay was great but you will be charged additional fees once you check in. When we checked in they charged us 400 dollars for a deposit and told us it would fall off once we checked out which was fine. BUT.they then charged us an additional 400 dollars for "resort fees". Their resort fee is only $37 dollars per day and we stayed 4 nights which should only equal $148. AND THEN.the day after we checked in a random $100 dollar charge was put on our card. When we brought this to their attention they told us all the additional charges would fall off expect the resort fees. SURPRISE. THEY DIDN'T. AND THEN.after we checked out and got home there was another $167 charge. This all equaled to an additional $1067 in fees. Everything but $429.68 fell off. When really we should have only been charged extra for the resort fees ($148). What is the point of charging over $1,000 dollars in additional fees for it to all SUPPOSEDLY fall off your card? My guess is they have gotten away with this many of times. We will be disputing the charges and I would never recommend this place. It sucks because I would have came back if it was not for this.

The staff starting at the front desk, to the bartender and table waiters in the lobby, to the room cleaners, were all VERY friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean and everything was in working order. The marina had plenty of slips available, was always clean and felt secure. I highly recommend staying here especially if you come to boat.

Just heard about an male employee at this establishment being disrespectful to Rickey Smiley, no one should be treated that way especially when you spend a lot of money here. Hope this establishment makes this right.

We are currently on our stay at the Bahia Mar Doubletree in Fort Lauderdale. We have had nothing but the best service since our arrival. Our first meeting MiMi at the front desk was one of the best experiences we have had at any property, even those not owned by Hilton. MiMi was very helpful and accommodating. She went above and beyond to assure we were completely satisfied. At the time we checked in she was training Elisabeth, who for a trainee was very knowledgeable and as helpful as MiMi with any questions we had. Both MiMi and Elizabeth are exceptional employees. Our next interaction came with our valet attendant Steven. Another great asset to your company, greeting us each time with a smile and awesome attitude. Later in the day we met Alejandro who blew me away with his service, quick and efficient address me and assuring everything was good. Last but not least, definitely not least…Michael the bell captain, at least that’s what I’m assuming. He was the highlight of our day each day. Always asking if we needed anything, what we were doing, if we needed directions or suggestions. Always pleasant and willing to assist in any way. Feeling the need to post this review as I am In disagreement with many reviews which were LESS THAN IMPRESSIVE. I don’t normally place reviews, but these individuals and this Hotel deserves this review. We will define be back and thank you to all these wonderful employees. From two CT couples on a short getaway to Fort Lauderdale THANK YOU

Horrible front desk. If you have a problem good luck getting it fixed. Front desk manager should be fired. I asked to speak with her manager and she refused. Never again will I stay there.

We had such an Amazing Staycation weekend celebrating our 30th HighSchool Reunion with our friends! Super Clean. Great Views. And omg the Fruit & Cheese room service platter was The Best!
Oh, and Thomas L.in event planning made it all possible! We ll be back!
