Baker County Rest Area (Wesbound) reviews
12It's a nice rest area. There is a 3/4 of a mile trail on the backside of the rest area. It's located in the Osceola National Forest. The coffee machine is weak. The coffee is not what I was looking for. They have an ice cream vending machine and that's cool.
The janitor / security guard that works there I forget his name kind of an older guy he saved me and my two sons lives my phone wasn't working I was almost out of gas and he let me go in the office there and call the number for the you know if you run out of gas and I actually took the woman where they would bring you a gallon of gas she was totally not nice to me cuz she said she couldn't have them come over to give me a gallon but if I run out I can get a gallon but the problem is is that my phone wasn't working and I told her that because he's bad range so if I ran out of gas I would have been able to call her
Nice rest area. Except the coffee vending machine wasn't working. Took my money! But no coffee!
Very clean restrooms. Nice dog walk in shade. Very clean area as people working the entire time I was there. They were picking up trash because there is always people who must litter. They kept trash cans empty. Security visible. Felt safe.
Great place to rest but the restrooms are VERY SMELLY (totally unbearable) and some of the sensors for the toilet's flush don't work. Wide variety of vending machines including coffee and ice cream! Also there are a few bees near the sitting area. Otherwise, love it!
Awesome trail on the backside of this rest area. Goes about 3/4 of a mile if you start on the far right. But I didn't know that, so upon starting closer to the middle, I immediately came to a T intersection. I went right and discovered the actual trail head about a quarter mile down. So I turned around and walked the entire 3/4 mile trail to a wooden dock overlooking a swampy area.
I'm happy with the scenery and the well-kept trail. I didn't see any alligators or notable animals, but I did see a lot of Cypress Trees and dwarf palmetto trees.
Worth a stop if you have some spare time and feel like stretching or getting some light exercise.
I was getting a bit groggy from an extended drive, so I stopped to stretch my legs. To my delight I found they have a short walking trail out back! A good 15 minute walk, a quick cup of coffee from the vending machine, and I was back on the road, refreshed and ready to complete the trip.
Standard rest area. Women restroom clean. The baby changing area stall was closed off however. Lots of vending if you want water, soda or snacks. Part of Osceola National Park; lots of shade and covered picnic area.
Watch your valuables I had tool boxes w all my tools stolen from vehicle after parking and returning.
Nicer scenery than some of the other stops, partly due to it being inside Osceola State Forest boundary. There are some educational signs available, and overall the facilities are well kept
Nice rest area stopped here several times and always found a parking spot. I love the restrooms they be clean and fresh every time
Needs a good cleaning. The smell of urine hits you as you enter the hallway leading to the bathroom. Paper littered the floor. Some stalls had no supplies.
