Banana Bay Resort & Marina reviews
14This resort is great. It has a great amount of amenities close to it for the price and is conveniently located close to the island. We rented a moped to travel around the island and to go out at night. It's a lot easier to find parking for the mopeds, bikes, and scooters than it is for cars. Their pool stays open late and the staff is super friendly and very helpful. They treat guests very well and like family here. We came for 3 days and because of the experience, ended up staying 2 weeks. Love this place!
Very disappointed in my stay. Only reason for a 1. Rooms are descent, breakfast is pretty bad. Ended up eating out after first day, besides the fact that the hours for breakfast are 8: 30-10! Really? ! Room service! Forget it! Went down the third day requesting rooms to be clean, all
I got is some fresh towels. Went back the next day again. Said the same thing! Once again got some new towels. Trash left, beds not done, phone not working. Last day asked an employee to use the showers outside since we were already packed and ready to go. Response was “ you need a code to use them, I said okay what’s the code? Reply. I don’t know” and he went about his business! Price was more expensive then the Hilton! I would pay double for Hilton after this experience”
The run-down view of the outside pretty much sums up the whole property. Decent location to drive downtown without paying for an expensive property, but the whole place is sub-par. We had ants constantly in the bedroom and bathroom. Maid came in at 8am when we had the "do not disturb" sign on, feral animals roaming property, outdated rooms/furniture, etc. Haven't watched a 13" tube tv in probably 20 years.
Most of the property looks like it's about to fall apart. 2 stars because it's cheap and close enough to downtown. Will spend the extra $$ to go somewhere else next trip.
Very run down. They have Not taken care of this place! Do Not go there! The pictures on their web site are about 20 years old. We refused to stay there.
Super expensice rates for a hotel that feels like a 1 star motel.dirty, unbilibably dirty.the pool looked clean but smeled like barf.there is no beach only ocean view and No seats or hammocks. Looks like the place in completely falling apart. 425.00 for 2 nights not worth it at all I was extreamly disapointed.o
The place needs some repairs to the pool, outdoor areas, maybe improve and beautify the garden, modernize the rooms a bit more, although the room was what I liked the most, it was very cozy and pleasant, although the air conditioning of the room where I was, the number 116, did not cool the place well, anyways i had that a phenombenal weekend with my girlfriend at banana!
Nothing fancy, but comfortable enough. Nice staff. Free light breakfast. Kinda far from Duval street. At least on foot or bike. No restaurant or bar. Pool was pretty nice. Has bike rack.
Low key location. Beautiful views. A good bit of traffic/city noise. Heard a lot of sirens. Comfy accommodations, good value. Friendly staff
$200+ a night.

Decent resort for the price. Room was spacious and comfortable although in need of some updating. The pool bar wasn't open which was disappointing but overall I would recommend if looking for a less expensive option. Front desk staff were extremely friendly and helpful.
This place is no resort. It is absolutely disgusting. Rooms are not clean, holes in the doors and walls that go straight to the outside. Rooms smell horrible. Pictures online are not accurate to what this place really looks like. Do not recommend to anyone.
Very dirty place, stood there 30 minutes to see if a room was available while the clerk was out to get lunch and none of the employees there could of said from the beginning that no kids were allowed. Definitely not a place that feels welcoming.
This place has been abandoned and it’s fallen apart! Our room is completely disgraced! The bathroom is missing part of the walls, it has mold and cockroaches wondering around!
The only updated thing in here is the price. $280 for the night.don’t bring your family to this trash!
From check in to check out we had problems. The receptionist, a young foreign guy, was very distasteful and extremely unhelpful. When we asked for a couple of things he was very unaccomodating. Apparently there were no extra pillows, towels or roll out beds in the entire resort. When we arrived at banana bay we thought we had arrived at the wrong resort. It was rundown, trash was everywhere, and the "employees" were walking around without shirts on and hanging around in groups not doing much at all. All of those factors made for a very uncomfortable environment and almost pushed me to cancel the reservation. Checking out of the hotel was almost a 45 minute process as there were several problems with payments and extra charges. Not only with our room but many other rooms. We paid a little over $300 a night to stay at this "resort" and was not even worth $100 a night. When booking this room, it was advertised as very new, very clean and somewhere you could spend your while vacation. When you arrive, you think your at a completely different resort. I cannot say false advertisement enough. Will never stay here again.
