Baptist Health Orthopedics Coral Gables (2nd Floor)

I'm writing this review about Dr. Alejandro Centurion, and the location of the building behind South Miami Hospital (not the Coral Gables site).

I did something horrendous to my knee in the height of COVID. I didn't want to go into a Dr's office, so I just hoped it would get better; it didn't. Finally, I called late April and got an appointment 3 weeks later (that was the earliest I could get).

It is daunting to get an appointment. You call and spend some time on hold. Then they take a LOT of info about the injury so they can determine what Dr you will see. For me, this involved several days of them calling me back after analyzing what I told them about my injury. It was several days before I got a call back that I had an appointment with Dr Centurian.

I was SUPER impressed with the precautions regarding COVID that they took at the office. They took my temp before I even entered the building (parking garage during COVID is free, and there is plenty of parking in the garage). When I went into the Dr's office, there was plexiglass barriers, and hand sanitizer, and only 2 patients - with chairs marked not to sit close. EVERYONE in the office, staff and patients, were wearing masks (required)!

Staff at the front desk was very nice and efficient. I hardly waited at all before going in for preliminary questions, then x-rays right there on-site.

After that, I waited just a couple minutes before Dr Centurian came in. I just loved him. He was so nice and personable and put up my x-rays and explained everything about my problem. He took a lot of time with me explaining what was wrong and was patient with all my questions. Just seeing a Dr gave me relief from my knee pain. He gave me instructions and told me to come back in 6 weeks.

When I went back, the office was just as impressive. The wait time was minimal and, again, the Dr answered all my questions. He didn't rush me at all and told me things I could do.

After the initial (slight) frustration of getting an appointment and waiting for them to call me back, I was extremely satisfied with everyone at this institute. Since my injury, my mother's wrist blew up and she can't move it. I called Dr. Centurian to try and get her an appointment with him, but he is the "knee Dr" and doesn't do wrists. I couldn't get an appointment with a Dr.in the next month, but I did get an appointment with a nurse practitioner in a couple days for my mom (a new patient), so that was fine with me (at the Coral Gables location). This time, my phone call was answered and I had the appointment within about only 10 minutes on hold.

I really have no complaints at all - in fact, I was more than satisfied with the care I received from these professionals.

07/30/2020: I took my mother to the office that is at Doctor's Hospital. Our experience was just as great as my own experience at the South Miami Office. She had hurt her wrist the Sunday before. I couldn't get a doctor's appointment for several weeks, however, I was able to see a Nurse Practitioner, so I took that appointment. The garage parking is great and you walk right in the back door (there is also free valet). Everyone was very professional and nice. We sat for just a few minutes, then went in a room and answered questions. My mom went for x-rays and the Nurse Practitioner explained everything about her issue. She was then fitted for a wrist brace, given a prescription and we were on our way in 1 hour. My mother is 90 and everyone was so nice to her. The office is SUPER clean with COVID procedures in place. Again, I appreciate the great professionalism of Miami Orthopedics.

My wife was operated by Dr Roy Cardoso. He is very professional and a caring Dr. He is also a super good Dr.the Surgery staff was exceptional especially Maribel, Julia and others (name forgotten) they very caring and super helpful. They are such an asset to the surgery center

Medical staff was comforting, friendly and really cared. Dr Uribe is awesome, best decision I ever made was to switch to him for my badly damaged shoulder.

Very positive experience scheduling and full service with coordinating the surgical requirements upcoming for my wife’s surgery. Dr. Suarez is thorough and fully explains in terms we could internalize for the procedure. Will be reviewing again after surgery!
