Batteries Plus Bulbs, Cape Coral FL

Just short of 3 years ago I purchased 3 deep cycle AGM batteries for my RV (SLI31AGMDPM). At that time they were $400+ each, but came with a 4 year warranty and had more amps and better performance than the lead acid batteries they replaced. Last week I brought my motorhome to my house from storage after being there for only about 2-3 weeks and all three batteries had low voltage. Since they were connected in parallel I assumed one battery had failed and brought the other two down. (This was the first time in 6 years I ever had any issues with batteries since I’ve owned my motorhome). I knew I still had one more year of warranty left on the batteries, so rather than just trying to recharge them to find out which one was bad, I brought all three back to Batteries Plus Bulbs so the warranty could be honored as it should be. I went back and forth to the store several times during the week as the store personnel were able to recharge all three batteries back to at least 12 volts and though they were all holding voltage, all three failed on the load test. At that point the clerk in the store honored the warranty as it should have been. But after getting home as I’m preparing to reinstall them into the RV, I received a call from the store clerk who replaced the batteries, that they made a mistake and should not have exchanged them since they came into the store under voltage. I think that the store was wrong in not replacing the batteries since they did reach voltage and were holding however they were still failing the load test. If I had been less than honest and just recharged them myself I probably wouldn’t have had any issues, however I’m an honest person and I’m describing this story exactly how it transpired. Batteries Plus in Cape Coral has shown me they use deceptive business practices when honoring their warranty and I would never recommend anyone purchase batteries from them, especially batteries that cost $400+ each. I plan to share this story with all of my friends and business associates as well as all of the social media sites I use so I can help people not be duped by this store. I will say one thing that the young man that assisted me during this whole ordeal was very nice and tried to help, but his management overrode him and made the decision not to honor the warranty.

Edit: It was not until after I gave my one star review that the management from this store responded, even though they had my number and all my contact information, and I informed them that I would be sharing the information above with everyone I know. However I’ve seen similar responses from other complaints within the reviews, as they try to make it look like they will work with you, when in fact they do not. I gave them every opportunity to honor their warranty, but they refused. I instead went to another retailer and bought new batteries from them. (For much less).

Have been using this store for all my battery needs, since it first opened. Always friendly, professional and knowledgeable.

This place is terrible bought a motorcycle battery paid for the warranty the battery is dead brought it in they told me the battery was still good. Brought it to another store and the battery is completely dead. Buyer beware

One of the most friendly staffs I've come across in a long while.they sold me batteries for 4 watches that I brought with me.they said they would put them in if I wanted, but I needed something to do, so I declined. I could do it at home to keep myself busy.they didn't have a problem with that, just told me which watch batteries fit what watch. I walked away 12 bucks lighter and four batteries heavier, and a very happy man!

Always great customer service - even better than what I used to get at Publix (before they lowered their hiring standards).

Took battery to this store and Jason was amazing and instead trying to sell me the battery he told me to try add water first. Not many places do that and unfortunately didn’t work but now I have no problem going back and buy from then. Thank you for the honesty and great customer service.

They checked my watch to put a battery in it and the watch had corrosion inside wasn't worth
putting in a new battery in it. They didn't push a sell. Everyone appreciates that.

Just stopped in to get new battery for my car keys. Jason took the old one apart & replaced, still wasn’t working properly.
It wasn’t only the battery, So Pedro re-soldered the whole key. Top Notch Customer Service! Great job guys!

Warranty is a scam for Trojan batteries. My battery exploded in under 1 year in my Golf cart and they stated it wasn't covered because my terminal was loose. My terminal was not loose! This was a defective battery. Batteries plus should not carry this brand of they don't stand behind their warranties

Went to replace my battery for the third time. The employee informed me that the battery can recharged. Previous employees never told me that. The employee i think him name is Cody. He took time to test my battery and that it could be recharged. He is a valued employee.

Ordered what I needed online for in-store pickup. Very easy to order exact item. It was waiting for me when I arrived, only a couple minutes in the store.

Well I've bought batteries there befrore and this time i took a battery there to get a new one for my motorcycle and was not given a core credit for the old one because the guy said the battery i brought in wasn't purchased from there. Wow i could have went to an auto parts store and paid a lower price plus received a core credit. I will never do business woth this place again. And i will let my motorcycle friends know not to go there.

Everytime they are extremely friendly and helpful. Always have what I needed except once, which employee told me how to get it. Love this place.

Battery I needed was in stock. On line purchase was easy. Item was ready when I arrived to pick up in store. Staff at store was great.

Helpful, respectful, cheerful assistants. I was happy to see a sign at the entrance, that to come into their store, you must be wearing a mask. I was well serviced.
