Great place to catch the sunset: water, lighthouse, ships entering the bay, and the eerily, ghostly abandoned battery. At some times of day you'll catch surf fishers on the beach and surfers in the water.

We walked the shoreline and looked for shells. We saw a huge stingray, crabs snacking on jellyfish, and jellies too.

Historical fort built in 1834 and named for Andrew Pickens of American Revolution fame. Sprawling complex composed of approximately 21.5 million bricks made locally in Pensacola. For a short time was the prison Geronimo was incarcerated in from 1886-1888.
