Beachcomber Resort & Club, Pompano Beach FL

Our suite was completely renovated and looked and felt amazing. Even had Plantation shutters instead of those nasty curtains. I loved the all glass shower, I just sprayed the entire shower with bleach like I always do but with those nasty shower curtains. The balcony was huge overlooking the pool and bar. We could see a little part of the beautiful ocean too and I was good with that. Especially since I live here in Ft. Lauderdale and we stayed here as a staycation. We will definitely be back many more times. I can't wait to upgrade the suite we had next time

Solid 3.5 stars. Modern and minimalistic, the lobby and rooms are clean and comfortable. Hotel guests have a choice between two pools and the beach. The private access to the beach and free lounge chairs and umbrellas were very nice.
While the hotel itself is relatively new and very nicely decorated, during my stay of 3 days, I noticed a few things that made my stay a little lacking.
The machine the lobby uses to program access cards is very simple. After returning from the beach I had to go to the lobby to have my key reprogrammed. Three times.
The people at the lobby did not check my ID, which is alarming.
As for the room itself, it’s clean and nicely decorated. The hardwood floors are clean. Balcony is large with comfortable lounge chairs BUT the balcony door wouldn’t unlock so the manager sent a maintenance guy to fix it for us. He told us our particular door was tricky to open, which strikes me as strange that they haven’t replaced the lock altogether.
The TV is not smart, so your only option is to watch cable- no Bluetooth function (it’s 2021!).
If you’re up late, there is no room service. Be sure to buy your own water because the hotel does not provide any. We had to postmates some at 3 AM from 7eleven.

While you may not encounter these same problems, just expect to run into some minor inconveniences during your stay.

I’ve never written a review for a hotel before but felt it was important I share my experience. My husband and I were booked for 5 nights in one of the one bedroom villas which is a small stand alone, located around the courtyard. On our 3rd morning we asked for full room cleaning service since we were completely out of toilet paper and needed fresh towels. When we returned at 6pm the room still hadn’t been cleaned so we told the front desk and went to sit on the beach and wait. After 45 mins and being told WE COULD NOT sit on the beach lounge chairs any longer because they were stacking the chairs, we went back to the room. Still not clean. Finally after more complaining to the front desk someone finally showed up. We chalked this up to miscommunication and/or lack of staff, so we let it go. However, on our last night there, unbeknownst to us, a wedding reception was being held in the courtyard that evening. We had a very early morning flight, so after 3 hours of having to listen to BLARING music from speakers literally 10 feet from our room we complained about the noise. This was at 9: 45. Of course 9: 45 pm is not THAT late, but when you are trying to rest, and can’t even hear the television in your room, it becomes frustrating. Not only were we not told this would be happening, but after addressing it, the ONLY response I got was “I understand”. That’s all I kept hearing from staff. There was NO manager to even speak to that night. There was not even an offer of switching to another room in the hotel, away from the LOUD music. I honestly felt as if the hotel management DID NOT CARE ONE BIT about the fact that WE were paying customers as well. I WILL NEVER stay at this place again, nor will I recommend it to anyone.
The only positive point I can make is the
restaurant food and drinks were very good and the wait service around the pool and on the beach was good also.

Lobby - lady that checked me in was rude. Lobby and beach/bar nice areas - disappointment in food and rooms
Rooms had furniture that definitely needs replacement/ drawers broken/water stains all over tops of furniture which made it look always dirty. No fridge?
Bathroom needs updating. Hide the pipes in vanity. Just not what I expected.pictures are very deceiving.would not recommend.

My wife and I stay here when we go to Pompano and the staff are on pointe. The staff here are exceptional but the manager we spoke to appears to be the problem here. They close tables at the beach because of no staff to serve them and no one is told if they will be open during our stay. This is one of the amenities they don’t tell you that you’ll miss out on when going here. When complaining to the manager about this, he tells us that we paid less for our rooms. In other words, you get what you pay for so don’t ask for the resort like experience. (We pay the normal amount every year for our room). Breakfast could not be made for us because the primary ingredient, Hollandaise sauce, (in 3 of their menu items) they did not have ingredients for. This is after waiting 20 min for them to tell us this. In addition, No towels in the room until requested. Partial ocean view room was a view of a roof. Manager tells us it’s because of the pandemic and we should not expect more. The dinner menu recently changed and is very bad compared to years past. $8 mac was now $26 after adding lobster. We can deal with the price but the mac&cheese was bland and no seasoning. After dealing with the staff, and only for this reason, we will be back because they made our stay comfortable and relaxing.

We have been to Beachcombers several times over the last 10 years. Small (9 floors), with restaurant, pool, beach chairs and umbrellas, great view, private beach and easy access to other restaurants, grocery and liquor store. We stayed away while the renovations were being made, mostly after reading reviews about the noise. We are pleased with the renovations.
6 day, 5 nights. Made the reservation through the front desk, she was so helpful. Found Travelocity was cheaper and the staff matched the Travelocity price! On arrival, the front desk staff was so friendly and helpful. Throughout the stay, the same cheerful service at the desk. You do have to request room service from the front desk (more coffee, fresh towels) all done within a reasonable time. Had a full service room clean on day 3.
Restaurant on the beach is a pleasure. Breakfast is a must. Beachside service comes around every hour. Very pleasant.
We will be frequent flyers to this location.

2 stars is for the location but this place needs new management for the resort as well as the restaurant Deep "ESPECIALLY THE RESTAURANT" this place COULD be a gold mine with the right people

Back in 2018 I treated my cousin, brother and friend to a week and a half long trip here. I got us a room and a Villa. We loved it so much we extended our stay another 3 nights. Rooms were nice, amenities were nice (except for a downstairs lobby - Smell), staff was nice and the location was great! Their was so much to do.

Hey staff, did anyone ever find my platinum link like bracelet I lost in the pool there? I do miss it.

The renovated the whole place two years ago. I used to come here before for breakfast. It is so beautiful, they did a wonderful job! Food was very good, staff very kind. Everything was very clean, too.

Beautiful on the beach outside patio. We did not stay to eat as we were too late to get breakfast.

Our lunch was Great, server was nice and we enjoyed our food- BUT it seems every time We go to this restaurant my CC is ALWAYS over charged, this time double. Currently working on resolving another over charge with Mark. Beware- check your CC charge to be safe. F. Y. I.most beach restaurants already add a Gratuity to your check-look at the bottom of your receipt to see IF gratuity is added.

The food is great.lovely beach the sunrise is amazing.was here for my birthday.will be back again

Loved the hammocks on the beach in the coconut trees. (as cleashea as that is) Really great job on the food we ate. I would say a must try is the ceviche. Always a great way to make some really good memories here.

Our 2nd stay at the Beachcomber for a diving trip, and as great if not better than the last. The staff were extremely courteous and accommodating, responsive to everything we asked. In addition to always great meals (swordfish, salmon, local hog fish, crab, etc), Chef Luis prepared our fresh lobster catch in an amazing and totally unexpected way, blew us away how good it was! Thank you to all the staff including Tyra, Gabby and Judy, just to name a few.we're already thinking about when we will return to stay again.

This is not a hotel, was my first impression. I thought it would be more of a resort vibe place.to my surprise it was a resort / residential building. I got the beach balcony view room and it was absolutely beautiful view and a nice decent room. My only concern was that the floor had sand everywhere and was not cleaned up properly at our arrival. Besides that the beach was beautiful with very white sand and clear waters, super empty private beach which we enjoyed a lot and the restaurant had great food and drinks! I would definitely come back for the food and beach, but the room itself for the price spend should be more properly cleaned.

Loved the remodel! Beachcomber has been a family favorite for staycation for 20 + years. We discovered it by bidding on it at a local charity event. Love the convenience of the kitchenette & room layouts. Even rented a beach Cabana that had wonderful service by Claudia. We weren't impressed with the regular Pina Colada or Margaita but the Keylime Colada & Rum Runner was terrific! Hamburgers were incredible and Huge! Only hassle was the room key kept disconnecting, but it could be because we carry it with a cellphone. Sand on the room floor is a casualty, but you are at a BEAUTIFUL BEACH where the sunrises were soul soothing!
