Beaches Gentle Dentistry, Jacksonville Beach FL

I have had a lot of dental work, a lot, but this is the first time I left a dentist office physically shaking. I went in to get a filling in one of my frontal teeth. This is also my first time being treated by thia dentist. I went into the room just after 08: 06m. The assistant placed the topical solution on my gum ahead of the shot. The dentist walked in, basically said hi we are doing a small filling today, grabbed the needle and seemingly jammed it into my gum. No warning and it hurt a lot. Brought a tear to my eye actually. I tried to pull my head backwards but there was no where to go due to the headrest. After he was done I said "in the future could you give me a warning so I could at least close my eyes". Then he immediately got to drilling. It felt like he was shining his head light directly into my eyes to force me to close them. It worked. Every time I would open my eyes he would shine his light directly into my eyes, not at my open mouth. The drilling was all very rushed. I literally had no idea what he was in there doing. After he was done with all the drilling, he told me he was putting a little medicine because it's close to the nerve. He filled the tooth. He sat me up and I was using my phone to see my tooth and he mentioned there will be a bit of blood because he had to drill into my gum a bit and that they could grab me a mirror. He then pulled up my x-ray image and tells me my cavity was big and close to the nerve so I may need a root canal which contradicted his earlier statement. He tells me this at the end of the appointment. He then quickly asked if I had any questions, but I was too scared to ask him anything at that point. Pretty sure he would not have taken the time to give me a complete answer. He said see you next time and walked out. I would bet he doesn't even know my name. It was 08: 33am when I was done.

I had several follow up appointments scheduled and I canceled them all. I chose this dentist based on reviews. I commuted all the way from Tallahassee hoping to find a dentist for the long term, but that is not what I found.

If you want to be in and out of a dentist chair, not knowing who the dentist is and not have him know who you are, this is the place for you. But if you are looking for a dentist who explains what is about to occur before a needle goes into your gum and the drilling begins, this is NOT the place to go.

I gave 2 stars instead of 1 because the filling was completed.

You have a great understanding of what it means to put your patients first. I felt from the beginning that you would identify and solve the problem I was having. Great job!

Place was very well organized and maintained. The staff are very knowledgeable and considerate.

Went in for a standard check up and clean, they took their time and did a very thorough job.

Even though I haven’t gone to a regular dentist in a few years my teeth were in decent condition, could be a lot worse. They were very understanding and gave good tips to prevent anymore damage down the road.

They could do an over-the-counter pharmacy toothpaste nearby by my home no problem.

Beaches Gentle Dentistry certainly lives up to their name. Their dentists and dental hygienists are friendly and knowledgeable.

Everyone was incredibly friendly and very thorough. It was a nice welcoming, professional environment with top notch service and friendly faces. Will definitely be returning for myself and family’s dental needs.

While on vacation, I cracked a tooth and needed someone immediately. They were able to get me in and provide a quick solution to tie me over until I got back from vacation. The team
was quick and efficient. Too often I feel dentists talk at you but He really made me feel comfortable and made everything easy to understand. Highly recommend!

Beaches Gentle Dentistry is where my whole family goes now; they treat you like a person who matters, not just another client, and they are as gentle as their name implies (also very nice Office and staff).

I absolutely love this dentist office. I was in the military and moved around for over a decade and by far this is the best dentist practice I've ever been to. The front desk and office manager are incredible and have gone above and beyond many times to help me with insurance and friendly and so supportive! Appointments are easy to get or reschedule. Superior decor, top notch equipment, technology, and even has TVs in the ceiling as a bonus. Drs are very educated, patient, listen to your concerns and offers all stages and variations of treatment options tailored to you.
