I moved to the Fort Walton area in June of 2020. I thought the housing market was slow, so I waited a bit to look at houses. I wanted to get into a house as soon as possible, not wanting to stay in a hotel or short term apartment rental. As it turns out, houses were selling fast and I couldn't find what I wanted. Houses were also going under contract before I could look at them. The entire time, I was in Japan. Luckily, I met Ben! He made this process about as easy as buying something on Amazon.

Ben searched for houses for me day and night.sometimes I would receive messages from him at 0100 in the morning, his time. Then he would send messages to me at 0800. Ben was really on top of trying to find a home for me. When we found a house to look at, he coordinated for the soonest available time. Ben took video or, if I was up, Facetime during the walk through. He gave honest feedback and has a good eye, since he has a good background in construction/building/etc.

We came up short a few times.houses sold or houses were not what they seemed. After looking at a house that was not something I was interested in, he found another listing and quickly made contact with the selling agent to look at it immediately. That was superior service! Constantly searching and taking immediate action to secure a home for me.

We decided that was the one. I made an offer and a day later the home was under contract on 15 June. I moved in on 6 July, even with the holiday weekend!

I originally wanted to go with USAA. Ben referred me to a local lender that offered rates at 1% lower than what I would have gotten with USAA. Additionally. USAA told me that inspectors were taking a long time, over 4 weeks. Ben got someone in within a week.
