Good course, very convenient. Had to book tee time online, was told one price but when arrived they charged me a different price. Beware when booking.

Would have been 5 star, but was a little disorganized with starting out. Was told to find the starter lady to set me up with a cart. After waiting for awhile I finally got my own cart and just started. Also would be nice to have a ranger on the course to ensure slower groups allow faster singles to play through. Also online tee prices are extremely deceiving.price online was $40ish for a 1: 30 tee time. For some unknown reason it wouldn't let me book online so I just payed at the course, my total, $79! Overall i would come back, challenging course for an average golfer like myself. Greens were very nice and fast!

Nice layout and easy to play quickly. Almost no travel from green to next tee box. The greens and fairways are good. Many tee boxes are terrible and any ball not in the fairway is on hard pan or dirt. I still give it 4 because you can get on by checking the night before for a decent price and the greens roll true.

Course was in excellent condition, fast greens, good fairways. Teed off at 7am so finished 18 in 3 hours with 2 groups in front. Zero issues with a crowded course which should be expected during peak season. That's just the way it is and that's why i played early. Course is fair and not much trouble to lose balls.
Oh. And fast carts!

Not enough carts for everybody had to wait for a cart longer than my tee time and then it was super slow took 3 hours to play 9 holes and constantly waiting on every tee box

Nice place to Play. Course is generally in a good shape. Fairways and greens well maintained. Some brown spots, but not to bad. Some holes are tricky to play, but the layout is great. Pace of Play was not very fast, because the group in front was very slow. We never saw an ranger that speed’s up the pace of play. Anyway, we skipped this group could speed up. Everything else was great.

AFTER A 3 HOUR FRONT 9! I've been informed that they don't have anyone to monitor the pace of play. 12ppl on the tee box waiting to hit. I have plenty of time to write this review

Booked 2: 30 tee time. Showed up they had no carts, three foursomes before us didn’t tee off till after 3. Asked for refund wouldn’t give me money back. Absolutely awful experience, no way to run a golf course. Avoid this place like the plague!

On the whole really liked the course. My one complaint is the women’s tees were much too far up and most had no tee boxes. They seem like an afterthought.

Staff treated us extremely poorly and in a hostile manner. The greens were poorly kept and the prices did not match the quality of the course. Would not recommend. Save your money, there are nicer courses in the area for cheaper.

First time- greens in great shape, fairways soft so course played long, pace a little slow but it's snowbird season, price fair

Breaks my heart as a golf course superintendent to see the course and the history of, go down the drain. Wish the management company Pope golf would actually do maintenance out there. So sad.

Had a nice round of golf with my friends multiple times on this course in the past year. They sometimes get backed up at the first tee but moves along nicely based on who's in front of you. Greens are nicely kept.

We’ve played this course multiple times and have always been very respectful. But Jay and his starter for the day were nothing but rude from the moment we got out of our cars. We’re younger golfers so we are used to clubhouses being wary of young golfers, but the blatant disrespect was so bad we ended up choosing a different course. HIGHLY RECOMMEND LAKE OF VENICE, RIVER CLUB, OR ANYWHERE ELSE FOR A BETTER EXPERIENCE

Great long course, my wife and me drove from Tampa and we had a great time, the fairways are in good shape we played on 5/22/22 and we will come back soon. Nice staff.

Awesome place to work. Doug is great boss. Coworkers are friendly. Golfers are glad about course.

Overpriced, fairways need to be overseeded, if you have a back problem stay on the fairways, the cart paths will put you in the hospital!

Wow what a disappointment! Worst conditioned course I have seen in Sarasota 15 years. Fairways dry and bare 50% and virtually no soft grass anywhere. Brutal tee blocks and 50% dirt cart paths. No marshalls and not busy, I wonder why? Paid near $70 just a crime. I would be embarrassed to take anyone here. I am Shocked!

Very slow play course not very well marked for yardage, they were very confused at bag drop. No ranger to speed up play. Fairways were spotty greens were good.
Concessions were good
Will not play there again
