Best Western Orlando Gateway Hotel

I gave this hotel a 1 star because of the room. We got a room and at first thought it was good until we turned on the AC. The AC stunk up the whole room with a terrible smell and when we tried to open the windows, we couldn’t because the windows were rusty and jammed. We were gagging, coughing, and sneezing. The bathroom had a bunch of black hairs all over the place. The next morning, We went to get breakfast and most of it was cold and my plate had a black, curly hair on it. We paid $200 for this hotel and it is for sure not worth it.

The service was extremely poor. Despite making and paying for the reservation online, the room wasn't ready upon arrival. I had to wait for about 2 hours, and when I approached Luciana at the front desk, had a rude and disrespectful approach when informing the room cards were deactivated.

In a perfect location near universal and a bunch of convenient stores.
However, we had a terrible experience. I registed my wife and in the check-in. Our cards to acess the rooms stopped to work 5 times. The bed in our room broke and the wood frame felt in my wife's feet. We're a fit couple not heavy. Luciene the manager was really nice and changed our room with an upgrade due to the acident. Our card stopped work again my wife tried to solve in the lobby and they refused to help her or givr access to the rooms. Because of their mistake by not adding her as a second guest in my room. Even with all the reservations contains her as second guest.

Arrogant and bossy front desk workers. Terrible rooms where you can hear normal conversations going on in the next rooms. Sticky floors all throughout the building. I do not recommend this place at all. It's pretty bad.

Excellent reception, we were attended to by John, he was very attentive and helpful. Made us feel at home. Another cafeteria attendant was also very attentive and both spoke our language.
Hotel close to everything.

I don’t understand the negative reviews on this place. This hotel has incredible quality for such an economical price. The lobby is beautiful; it even has a restaurant there! They were not lying about the hot tub and pool There is even a basketball court and lounge! Some of the only problems are thin walls, meaning you can hear your neighbor’s TV and all that. The room service is good, it comes every day. The rooms are beautiful. It is so close to all the attractions like Walt Disney World, Universal Studios, and Sea World, so it has excellent location. I love this place and I think it was worth coming.

Rooms are really dirty and stinky. What we saw in the pictures during booking didn’t get the same. Really bad experience and doesn’t recommend to anyone at all!

Booked same day reservation for their hot tub only to find out it wasn’t working. Got rude service on the phone when asking about a partial refund. I was willing to pay cancellation fee, but I got charged the full amount without even stepping foot in the hotel. Very unprofessional.

Really bad smell in the lobby as well as the whole Hotel. The rooms are dirty with damp smell and the toilets were so small even though we upgraded to a suite instead of a standard room. Really not recommended at all, i myself would never come back again.

The hotel is close to everything, inside we have a restaurant and bar, and almost all the staff speak Portuguese. I highly recommend it as an affordable option with an excellent location.

Unfortunately, I didn't have a nice experience. First the bed broke on my foot.
In my second day our room card demagnetized and the receptionist asked for my ID (which never happened before). She saw that my name was in the reservation but she insisted that I wasn't the person. I don't know if is because I'm not white and my ID is from Canada. But for me it was very disrespect. She insisted to call my husband even after I told her that his phone number is from Canada and it is not working here. So, at the end only my husband was able to get the keys, like in 1870 when the women were nothing.
The most stressful hotel in my life.

Great location.
Room is a bit dated but is perfectly fine.
Only thing I didn't like was my room had a door into another room, so I could hear people's talking and their tv etc.
I didn't want to make phone calls home early in the morning as it would have woke the other room occupants.
Staff friendly and helpful.
Parking was very handy.
Pool was out of action due to upgrade work so can't comment on that.

Staff is very friendly and supportive. They make sure to find a solution for the client's convenience. Room was a bit smelling and they changed the room, credit card wasn't functioning and they accepted cash partially and many more. Especially rebeca and Evelyn were always there for us. Rooms are a bit old school type with old fashioned tap, shower, walls etc.for this 2023. I think it is an old hotel which has been revamped. But we were out for most of the time so no problems with that anyways. Coffee and thee in the room are bad and cheap, need to upgrade this. Large and safe parking available. Location is great. 5 minutes walking to international drive and alot of shops walmart, dollar tree, food houses, parks, outlet stores, gas stations etc within 15-30 minutes driving. Good for $100 per night for two persons with two beds. Can accomodate 4 persons in the room in fact. Rooms are not well sound insulated, so you hear almost everything from the next doors.

ROACHES. I booked this hotel to save some money and because it was in my Universal bundle. Worst decision ever, pay a little more and stay in a place with less issues. Our room had roaches and the team handled it poorly, we were switched to a different room on the 2nd floor that also had roaches. We were moved to a third room the next day, wasting time packing everything up again, the hotel team had communication issues among them and did not show accountability about the undesirable situation, the solution was to give us back $15 (half of the resort fee) which by the way they did not do, I was charged full resort fee. Save yourself the trouble. Never staying at a Best Western again

Stayed here since it was close to Universal and it was great. Room and bed options are limited but you get what you pay for.

We had to call the police because while we were gone all day at Busch Gardens 11/20/23 we came back to our room and found someone went through all of our belongings. This was day 2 of our stay. We had a do not disturb sign on our door, ac on, TV on, curtains closed. We walked into our room with multiple puddles on the floor, TV off, curtains open, ac off and EVERYTHING wiped down, my books went through and wet on the INSIDE, my BED damp, pillows smelling like MENS cologne and we are two WOMEN who don't use that type of cologne. The chair and ottoman was wet and also smelled like mens cologne. Someone went through our suitcases, clothes were wet and clean clothes turned inside out with some type of BODILY fluid on one of my shirts. My headphones were HIDDEN under the pillow, they were also SOAKED, our bags that had extra credit cards in there were also wet so we had to freeze and cancel all of our cards. The manager wasn't being accountable and the front desk said "well nothing was stolen" and LAUGHED. They said there was no security footage but the police said otherwise. My mom is also missing PRESCRIPTION medication. If anyone has stayed here check your stuff for anything missing and your card statements for charges that are unfamiliar.

I just stayed here for 4 days and had a really good experience. The service was phenomenal, especially at the front desk and cafe girl named Rachael Deli. Everyone always had a smile and was ready to help/greet you at any time of the day. I would recommend and say it’s a good deal for the buck. Will be coming back next year! The staff really goes above and beyond! Get to know Rachael because she really goes the extra mile to make your stay truly better!

Stayed there 11/10-11/11 and they sent me an email saying they upgraded my room for being a member, so I came back from the concert and the was a BIG puddle of water from the ac I called the front desk they sent maintenance and they vacuumed it up and said it was fixed woke up this morning and ALL OF MY STUFF WAS SOAKED! When I was checking out I advised them about it and they took $15 off of a $160 room. I normally don’t complain but everything was soaked, my clothes, my makeup, the sheet I kicked off of the bed when I was sleeping. Supposed to be a complimentary upgraded room, come to find out it wasn’t and left with so much stuff ruined and still paid $145.

Probably the worst Best Western I've stayed in. Pillows were insanely uncomfortable like a bag of rocks. Got locked out of my room at 6: 30am because key card stopped working. Bathroom fan sounds like a jet engine. No free breakfast, $15 dollars. Pool lights were broken as well.
