Better U Dining (Poinciana) reviews
19 I try the food here once and have not stop eating it since!
I also tried the microwaveable rice and peas it was delicious, fresh and flavorful,
highly recommended trying!
This is a house, not the same restaurant in Winter Park as before. If you are fine with that, cool. However, make that choice BEFORE spending money on tolls and getting your hopes up that you will be fed. It's also pre order/ pick up only.
An Abysmal upset and let down! …….
When I first discovered this restaurant I was genuinely excited and like a child was happy I found something that was gold an authentic vegan restaurants that was amazing! This is was when they were in an actual location not to far from an established city in Orlando!
We ordered our food via phone call today and traveled literally 1hour and 43 minutes to arrive to a house that looked very stoic and almost abandoned! This is a stoic community in poinciana!
To the owner of better u dining my prayers go out to you and I genuinely felt really sad that the restaurant that had a great rapport with the city of Orlando and even making it in the news paper as a the best Jamaican restaurant in the entire city! To know an isolated house that is someone living in there! I hoped she is okay and I know she will get back I’m sorry but I did not feel comfortable or safe getting food from a house that looked so isolated from life! This is a genuine reply I hope this place gets back and I rooting for it to do so!
This is a hidden gem! Nice variety of food. And has Vegan options as well. Perfect fit for my husband and I. Hubby had the Vegan Bowl, I had the Acker and Salt Fish. Both items very flavorful. The owner is very friendly. You just can’t go wrong! Thank you for sharing your delicious food! Will be back
Very good food… I had the jerk chicken, very flavorful. It was served hot and listed the calorie notes on the container as well. I will return again.
The food is always amazing cooked fresh and the owner is very nice. The food is just amazing. I can’t stop saying it seasoned well cooked well. I’m so thankful that I found this restaurant.
All I Can Say is OMG
I drove 40 minutes for this and I will do it again
It was so worth it, the vegan sampler was tasteful in every bite
Absolutely some of the best Jamaican food I’ve had. And the patties are equally amazing. Always order food from here and it’s amazing everytime
The steamed snapper was perfectly cooked and was tender and moist. However, the rice and beans fell short, being mushy and lacking flavor. I also tried the macaroni which was very delicious and not too salty in anyway but had its own unique seasonings.
This place has some of the best Caribbean food around. I always receive it piping hot, and fresh. I usually get the salt fish and Ackee, with boiled banana. I strongly suggest the codfish cakes. The curry shrimp is good too. Cabbage soup really brings you life, if you’re feeling under the weather. They also have very nutritional drinks/shakes, everything made in-house. This place deserves more recognition. I was introduced on Uber Eats. Haven’t been to the actual location. But I will try to, one of these days. My family really loves the oxtail dinners and cod fish cakes. The food is has so much flavor, large portions, and so well prepared.
I ordered here for my husband and I, we were super hungry. Unfortunately the rice was very over cooked and putty, putty. Not the typical Jamaican rice. However, the goat was good! We would not come back here though or recommend it to anyone else due to the rice. Additionally, 3/4 of the rice was covered in the gravy making the rice even more unpleasant to eat. I always like to support my people but this one was not it, sadly. Not to mention, we paid $35 (2 curry goat meals & a side of plantain) that’s a lot of money to be let down: (
I can tell you that this place has fresh fish like if you love fish their food is always fresh never burned never undercook never overcook the temperature is always right when I get it so I just want to thank the Cook or Cooks at this restaurant. And the food reminds me of home of how my grandmother used to cook so I love
The food is okay but extremely too salty, and I had issues with every order.
I tried the Rasta Pasta, it was not creamy like the ones I am used to, I had to add Alfredo sauce to make it eatable.
Plantains don’t come with the meal which is a Caribbean staple, it’s extra, almost $5 when a plantain cost less than $1.
I ordered the oxtail, she told me 30 minutes, then called me in 10 min saying it was ready. So my food sat for 10 minutes in a bag until I got there. The rice & peas is already over cooked so putting it in a bag to steam more made it soggy. A waste of my money! Oxtails arent cheap!
I got the salmon which was listed on the price sheet for one price, then was charged a different price. The cabbage was so salty I couldn’t even eat it. The other cut up veggies were just as salty making it impossible to finish.
You’re going to kill people with the amount of salt being used. I tried 3 times and was disappointed each time. I tried to give you a chance, but each time has been a waste of my money.
Delicious authentic Jamaican food so good and the juice is fresh I felt the vibes. It’s wicked good food!
Food is great but extremely too salty for me. Rasta Pasta isn’t really Rasta pasta. Not really a creamy sauce like the ones we accustomed to in the Caribbean or up north. I ordered a side of plantain for 3.25 and received 4 plantain. That’s a bit extreme. I’ve never been to any place where I paid that amount of money and received 4 pieces of plantain. My husband and I were a bit disappointed. I like they have the ingredients on each food. Which is what confirmed the salt in my Rasta pasta and my stew chicken 2470mg 107%. Love them jus wish it was less salty and wish they would include the plantain in the meal like other West Indian places. Usually get cabbage and plantain without having to pay 3.25 for it.
Why this restaurant is at someone house in poinciana. Do they have all the documents and department of health requirements.
The young lady spoke fluent Dutch and was very friendly. We ate oxtail with rice and beans. It was very delicious. It is traditional Jamaican and you can choose from meat, fish or vegetarian. It is recommended to eat something different than typical American food. We ate our food outside at the tables because we were passing through by bike.
The food was amazing, place is clean, plenty flavor and customer service is friendly, and courteous. They even provide the calorie intake and ingredients mind your it’s a house restaurant. Didn’t expect that type of service. They deserve a 10.
We ordered cabbage soup and vegan platter with power bowl it was amazing I will be going back a lot, the food and ingredients are fresh and on point much love to from Venezuela. GREAT FOOD
