Big Lagoon State Park Campground reviews
14 Convenient location near shopping, dining and beautiful beaches. Well maintained campground friendly and attentive Rangers. Hot showers with good pressure. Clean bathrooms and private sites. They hand rake each site between occupants. I vacuum our camper 10 times a day and it's still full of sand but those bathrooms almost never have sand in them and are cleaned twice a day!
There are nice sand and boardwalk trails out to the water. It's not really a beach but you can get in and wade in the water.
I am here for another 8 days. It's a really beautiful area of Florida. I'm exploring on a daily basis. But I have yet to be bite by mosquitoes or no Sims. Is staff is very friendly, Is bathroom very clean, Just had to wait a little while to get hot water for a shower. Is dog friendly
All campsites have power and water. No street lights, so its dark at night. The bathhouses (3) are clean and well maintained. I can hear a highway over the water, but it is muffled. A very quiet campground with helpful staff.
Spent just a night, much too short, the park was clean, well set up. The ranger suggested the observation tower, it felt like you could see forever! The staff was all so friendly and helpful. We'll be back for longer next time, we left so much unexplored.
Just got here this afternoon so I got some exploring to do tomorrow, beautiful white sandy beaches
Very nice campground. Wooded and quiet
We even had an armadillo visit us at our site. Clean restrooms with showers. Several trails, both short and longer. This is our second time here.
This place is great if you like to hike, bird watch, and star gaze. Not much else to do. Long walks or you have to drive for everything including restrooms.
We loved this campground. Our site (#52) looked a bit smaller than the pictures but it worked fine. The playground was perfect for kids and the bathhouse was clean. The sites are sand and leveling was a challenge, but they have a lot of privacy with trees/bushes in between and you’re not on top of each other. The full boardwalk is not yet reopened so that was disappointing. Beaches at Perdido Key were a short drive, or Pensacola beaches are a little further and really nice. We can’t wait to come back here.
Nice enough to park, great eating place s close to park, however Florida check in time is way be too late in the day, also luke warm showers it not nice, no firewood for sale. Check how Georgia parks do it.
Park which may be beautiful but more than 3/4 of the park is closed.due to the hurricane that occurred in 2021! Also, we have to leave the park to buy firewood.no WiFi either. In short, very disappointed with our stay there.
Friendly hosts, great rangers. They gave us a call before closing for the evening to ensure we had the gate code. That is a first for us campers!
The State Park is well located and also gives us access to two other places nearby along the coastline and beaches.
Currently, we do not have access to the Big Lagoon section of the park which is closed due to one of the recent hurricanes.
The sites for some are large and with cement bases. Most are with a lot of privacy. The toilet blocks are clean and large.
The launching section is large and an excellent place for a pick-nic.
Nice bathhouses, decent price, but most of the park is still being reconstructed from hurricane damage. The boat ramp area was open, but you can't even walk down the lagoon beach there. The campsites are way too close together and not very flat, with no open view except of the roadway. I don't like the layout. Be prepared to walk trails in sand! At least it was close to Johnson Beach, and some good restaurants.
Nice hiking. Boat ramp has super clean restrooms and nice picnic shelters. The day use of the park is unavailable, though.
