Black Diamond Ranch, Lecanto FL

Golf courses are solid! Rest of the facility is not. More of a golf club. Far from a country club. Ancient locker room no amenities. Dining room is always closed when ive played there. Guests not allowed in “members lounge” despite being the only "F&B" outlet thats open. Be careful if you play in the summer or make sure u wear your raincoat inside.celing leaks like niagra falls if its raining haha and mold is growing on the ceiling/walls. I play there pretty regularly as a guest. Discussed these concerns with my buddy who is a member and the GM who appeared to be very indifferent about it.

A majority of members are not pleased with guests being there. Not all but a majority. Makes it tough for guests if they wanted to potentially become members

Without question Black Diamond is the finest course I've yet to play in FL. We played the Quarry course. Very smooth and fast greens were in good (but not great) condition.
Tees and fairways were good. Very friendly staff!
The best thing about the course are the 5 or 6 holes built around the old quarry. Spectacular elevation changes and views.

Absolutely horrible experience with the gate guard. Was extremely rude and told me to drive back to Ocala (1hr away each way) was delivering a surprise birthday car to a customer and a check to someone that lived within the community. Had paperwork with customer information, dealership branded shirt on, chase car with me. The guard rob told me it’s not his problem and that I needed to turn around otherwise he’d have to contact the police even after the customer called the gate and asked to let me in. This is insane.

We attended an outing at Black Diamond and played the back 9. Interesting holes, carts were nice, course was in good shape. The buffet lunch was tasty with several entree selections. Dining area was gorgeous. Unfortunate that the course and area are so inaccessible.

Great place to live play, and eat. Golf, swimming pool, tennis courts, driving range, p quite neighborhoods and a restaurant in the club house

Thin lie’s scabbed greens, and punched greens, worse value course I’ve played. I was really looking forward to playing this Iconic course now it’s One & Done

I knew a man who lived in one of the houses in Black diamond. He arranged for a round of golf for me and included a lesson by the pro there. I had a great day and could not believe that a course could be so beautiful. The signature hole that overlooks the Old Quarry is breathtaking!

The Golf Course is Amazing. But Private. Can Booked a Play and Stay. Beautiful Pro Shop and Beautiful Club House with Great Food, Drinks, and Wonderful Staff. Play the Black Diamond Quarry. Must.

Well I played the quarry course in a tournament. The quarry holes are beautiful. The greens were not in good shape. Needs alot of maintenance some areas just off the fairway impossible to find your ball the grass is so tall. Staff was great members were rude. If not a member they make you hit off mats on the range. Glad I played it don't need to go back.

This was my second time playing the Quarry.
It is always a good time and a great course to play. Greens were running true today and, with the exception of one hole, it was well maintained. I am never disappointed when I play here. It plays a lot like Juliette Falls, but has some pretty big elevation changes.which I love!

What a beautiful course.
Played June 5th and the conditions were perfect.
Fairways and greens were immaculate.
A must play if you get the chance.

We went there for a “Stay and Play” package. About $1K for two nights and three rounds. We had 16 in our group.

First the accommodations: we had both 3 and 4 bedroom houses. Most were very nice, but the one my two roommates and I stayed at was a complete disaster. It was filthy (patio looked like it had never been cleaned, urine stains on the toilets, bathroom mirrors that were covered in dust). The beds must have been the cheapest that the owner could find. Extremely uncomfortable. The decor was a combination of 1980 thrift store and Dollar Store. I have been on countless golf trips. Stayed at many, many places all over the World for golf. I have never experienced a more dilapidated property. Top that off by a “Stay and Play” coordinator that never picks up the phone and does not return calls. This
made it a very difficult experience for such a large group. Note the GM did offer us a $50 each credit after reviewing the property personally. Unfortunately, the same person that does not return phone calls failed to process those credits.

Second, the golf courses: We played The Ranch the first day. Great layout. Interesting course. Really bad conditions (lots of bare spots in fairways and poorly kept greens). Think of a medium muni course. The second and third round we played The Quarry. Really nice layout. Slightly better conditions, but maybe on the upper end of a muni course. They seemed to be having an issue with some of their greens.

The good news is the Pro Shop staff and the Outdoor staff could not have been more friendly and helpful. Really great group of people. Same with the restaurant staff. Really good service and great food.

So, bottom line, would I go back there? Never. Not worth the money for what you are getting. I realize this place was once fantastic, but I think Father Time and budget has caught up with them. Lots of potential, but not with the current conditions. Too bad…. We looked forward to this trip, but left overall disappointed.

Really fun course, great lay out, and challenging as well. It does seem very pretentious from the staff and there were spots of the course that didn't have grass at all. $175 just to chip and putt is a little crazy seeing as the round was the same price.

Attened the Ernie Els Charity Event for Autism. The course was in great shape. Staff and participants were attentive to the audience. Excellent event for a great cause.

This was one of the best courses I have played in Florida. 13-18 on the quarry were amazing. The views and the difficulty made this a wonderful experience. I would love to play this golf course again when I ever make it back to the Tampa area.

Had an unfortunately horrible experience with the customer service. Was attempting to book a golf trip. I could not get anyone to answer about availability, booking, or get back to me at all about booking a stay and play. My husband and I both submitted multiple requests through the website, emailed, and called. I tried the pro shop and the number for stat and plays. I was assured that someone would get back to me but no one has. While the course looks nice online, it is apparently impossible to book. Sadly would not recommend.

Quarry is a fantastic layout but the conditioning is suspect. And it's not just because I played it in January, I played a different course the day before which was in fantastic condition.
