Blu' Island Bistro reviews
15Oh my goodness I had one of the best breakfast sandwiches of my life here! Great service too!
I had a great breakfast; what was even better was the nice waitress and the friendly restaurant manager. This was my first time at this restaurant and I will be a repeat customer for sure.
We had a very satisfying breakfast here. Whisky Bacon Benedict was outstanding. Thick sliced pork belly bacon cooked just so, napped with from-scratch hollandaise sauce in perfect proportion-not smothered-and a drizzle of whisky glaze. Nice touch. Companion enjoyed a nicely made western omelet ordered with a side of pork sausage. The sausage, unfortunately, was deep fried and thus could not give the food a five star rating. Coffee was good, old Florida atmosphere and great service. Lunch is offered after 10am and we will definitely return for that.
Great to see quality of food has returned to 5 stars. Service 5 stars. Cleanliness in outside dining area needs serious attention. Greasy foot traffic trails in the pavers. Plenty of trash laying around. Dirty seat cushions
Food is incredible, especially the whiskey bacon. All the employees are friendly and stop to say hi to everyone inside or outside.
I ordered the banana French and whiskey bacon. The French toast was very dry and cold. It definitely was not made fresh. This used to be my fav restaurant for breakfast but now I’m
On the fence. I always give a place a second chance. Will let you know! As far as service, it was good, although, I sat for at least 15 minutes waiting to pay my bill.
Weekend donuts are awesome, Cinnamon roll French toast is excellent, omelets are spectacular, service was the best with the prettiest smile. Best breakfast in Venice.
This place is awesome! We sat outside and it was a beautiful mother's day breakfast! The food is delicious and a must visit if in the area!
This little place was really good. I would have never thought it would be good from what it looks like out front. I was wrong
Excellent service! Delicious Bloody Marys, doughnuts, and almost everything we had were perfect.
I went in for lunch today with a friend. I've been here once before for breakfast and was pleasantly surprised that breakfast was amazing. Today I had the lightly blackened grouper tacos, they were phenomenal. Our waitress AnneMarie was outstanding, very attentive and met all our needs. We will definitely be back.
The good - pancakes were awesome
The bad - corned beef hash, eggs barely hit the frying pan, expensive compared to other breakfast places downtown Venice. Better places elsewhere. Thank you.
I went to Blu Island Bistro for the first time in a very long time this morning and had a good experience! The Avocado Toast on Gluten Free Bread with Poached Eggs was delicious with a little cracked black pepper on top. Service was quick, but did have a few faux pas. I had a cold brew coffee with almond milk to drink, but when a server refilled it (not the server who took our order), she refilled it with unsweetened iced tea. I was never asked what the drink was prior to her refilling it. No harm, no foul; I just asked for some ice water to finish my meal with. I'm sure I'll return for another tasty breakfast!
Quaint little place with a pleasant atmosphere. A little tight on the seating but overall the experience was nice. Food was satisfying and service was quick. Michelle was our server and she was outstanding. Very nice and cheerful from beginning to end. Will probably come back again.
Dining companion and I ate here 3 times in a couple of weeks and enjoyed each meal - usually with mimosas.
We liked the coffee. I had blueberry pancakes and bacon. Dining companion had a veggie omelette.
We weren’t fans of the Boar’s head extra thick bacon, soaked in something. This was our preference and nothing to do with the preparation.
Overall, we enjoyed the food and the cheery demeanor of our waitress.
It would be our 1st choice for breakfast.
