BPL Plasma reviews
15If you care about money don't come here they made plasma bottles bigger with no pay increase there for they're trying to steal so yea any other plasma center is better
Like many others, I was enticed by the seemingly endless ads for plasma donation. I visited BPL to find out more. It didn't take long to realize their intake process appeared organized but was totally inefficient. I was there over 3 hours and did not donate. I was given some info, a debit card, a schedule, then a video among a host of other more intrusive procedures (fingerprints, photographs, a finger stick and even an examination of my arms for evidence of needle tracks, to name a few). After several stations, I waited in a long line which ended with a lot of questions, one of which was, “Have you ever served in the military? ” When I answered “yes”, I was sent to another area to wait an HOUR to speak with a different person. I told her I never left the country. She proceeded to ask me if I had been to a series of countries which she named individually and I had to answer “no” to each one. “Ok” says she, I was then sent back to the aforementioned line to wait (again) and eventually pick up where I left off, this time with a different employee… seriously!? Then after reading a list of disqualifying medications (none of which I was on) I was sent to speak to someone who said that 1 or 2 of the medications I WAS on were “probably” disqualifying. When I asked, “if they’re disqualifying then why aren't they on the list of disqualifying medications? ” I was not given an answer. Then, when I misunderstood a question during this process, I was treated like a suspected criminal and a supervisor came in to take over what seemed like an interrogation: (face to face eye contact was mandatory!) After more extensive questioning, I was told to come back the following day to find out if I was either eligible to donate or disqualified. I was told this could not be done over the telephone because, “We can't verify who you are over the phone so all our communications are face-to-face”. REALLY!? You just gathered more personal info about me than any other organization I can name, including the military, and you can't determine it's me over the phone? ! I thought perhaps they were concerned about HIPPA laws, but telling me over the phone if I was or was not eligible to donate would not have violated any HIPAA laws. At that point I was regretting ever stepping foot into BPL plasma. I drove back the next day and was told I wouldn't be eligible to donate until I was off my current medications. I suspect this decision was made without any documented proof that my meds were incompatible with donation and I would appreciate someone from MANAGEMENT/OWNERSHIP contacting me about this, because I can't find any medical evidence that supports their decision.
I would advise people to seriously consider the above information and weigh the risks versus benefits to plasma donation at BPL Plasma.
Nice place, been coming here for over a year now. Staff is nice.sometimes it can get busy and you have to wait for a long time though.
Honestly upset to go here there’s only 1 medical “professional” and she took a hour for a simple 1 question concerned and there’s been 2 guys waiting for literally 2 hours before I got in the wait line, no one told me how long the wait was I had to leave early because appointments. I set aside 4 hours for this donation and they spent all of that time and I still never go to donate. Also the employee Mildred the lady in a wheel chair was horsing around and when I brought my concern up to her she cut me off multiple accounts and when I told her she was she was more rude and continued and no apology or empathy was shown. Honestly this is not right
Rude intake staff as soon as I walked in! Totally understaffed had to wait for someone to get back from lunch to be helped! The entire facility looks very unclean! Completely unsatisfied with my visit here will never go back
New staff was very friendly and helpful on my first visit. I learned some things about the processes that they use there. Thank you very much. Will definitely be back to donate again. Joseph Callet
All the employees are very friendly and helpful all of them have great customer service skills. Especially Abigail and the woman up front
Worst donut place ever mainly because of the morning doctor she is very rude very disrespectful that's why I will not be donating anymore if I have to get a physical from her I will rather wait until the afternoon doctor comes in your morning doctor is very rude and disrespectful
I've donated at MANY places before and this was by far my best experience. As a new donor here my wait time was half as long as any other new donor wait time. The entire staff was friendly and attentive. Abby was the one who stuck me and she did an amazing job making me feel comfortable after I let her know about my fear of needles. She even covered the needle with an extra piece of gauze so I didn't have to see it in my arm. I will be donating here from now on!
I understand why they keep a security guard here the only plasma center that does this by the way but they literally have the worst attitude towards donors I've ever seen
Tried to donate today as new donor. After 2 and a half hours they finally told me I’m not able to donate because I’ve donated at another plasma center. Why wait so long to tell me I’m not able to donate? I just hate the fact that I wasted that much time for no reason at all and this could have been prevented.
I am very disapppointed by the way my husband was treated. He does not know how to read well and during the process he was told to read out loud a card and he told the person he can not read well they told him since he can not read he was not allowed to donate.
I donated they Said my plasma was oily.only gave me $10.never had a problem donating been doing this for 3 years on and off.
Easy but redundant process with intake questions. Wish the machines that do the questions were newer but over all decent place to go donate and most of the people are great.
The girls in front desk customer service all have attitude, seems like they hate their job and very unprofessional. Everyone else is great and has positive attitude. Girls in front should be retrained on basic professionalism.
