Brevard County Tax Collector, Merritt Island FL

We had a title transfer. We walked in shortly before our appt time and almost immediately got a message to go back to a specific window. Very smoothly executed.

-100 stars. Had an appointment, still waited 2.5 hours, just to turn in a tag from a car that I sold. Unacceptable. Nobody should have to take a half day off of work for such a simple task.

The clerk was delightful, very helpful and courteous. She saw that I truly needed help, and that she was not able to help me herself. So she called a supervisor and her supervisor was able to make sense of my paperwok nightmare. Thank you

I recently moved to Florida. Getting my Florida license plate and changing driver's license was a good experience. The facility is clean, well organized and easy to navigate even for handicapped. The staff were friendly, courteous and over the top helpful, excellent to work with.

Intake person was very nice but the person at station 4 was rude, did not want to assist, and was very condescending. Absolutely will not visit this office again.

Arrived at this location to apply for my concealed weapons permit at 4: 15. When I was called to the window 4: 19 pm they tuned me away and said it was too late to apply. I intentionally came late and left my child with my mother because it was a slow time of day. Terrible customer service!

Absolutely shocked by how friendly and helpful they were. I just moved to Florida and was expecting the same poor treatment I got in my previous state. (It shall remain anonymous, haha) But here, the process was efficient and the staff was so friendly and kind.

I wonder what's going on here lately. After the move from across the street there were barely 30 min wait times on walk-ins and I went at least 6 times for different reasons, not including one time meeting a friend there to just sit with her and hang while she waited. Now the wait times are back up into the double digits. We were there 5 hours waiting to simply register a vehicle.

I am trying to pay my property tax and the tax collector phone keeps hanging up on me before I could write the information down. Phone needs to be fixed.

This place is great they have the best service you can schedule an appointment in everybody is happy to work

My first time at this branch. Had an appointment and was able to move to the front of the line and check in. In and out within 20 minutes. Folks who complain about slow service should make appointments. I am from Maryland and you haven’t seen slow and discourteous until you go to a DMV there.

Service is really really really slow! There need to be some changes! Especially for people who are on their lunch break and people who can't make it in because they work until 5.

Very organized! My only complaint is that I wish I could have accessed the items that I needed more easily online. Very professional and friendly staff!

It's a nightmare. They have Oasis online to make appointments yet it says there are no appointments available or they don't take appointments. So I went in. I didn't have my birth certificate, but I had everything else, needed to change my name that was put wrong on my drivers license, by them, many years ago. I am trying to get a passport and need my name on it corrected. So, I went back home, half an hour round trip, brought in my birth certificate, a certified copy from the hospital. She looks at my paperwork, everything's in order and gives me a number. 2 1/2 hours later (!) I am called back, only to be told they can't change it with that birth certificate- it has to be a government copy, not hospital. Really? With unemployment what it is, can't they get someone in there that knows their job? I WILL NOT be back. I will go elsewhere, but not Merritt Island.

Greeter is great, but several encounters were rife with errors and misunderstandings. I went on three (now four) separate occasions and every time I had issues with typos and lack of knowledge. First time they misspelled my name on my registration. Second time the person processing my registration got really angry at me because she asked me if I had a lien on my car. I don't. I have a leased vehicle which is not the same as a lien. But, apparently to this woman there was no difference and it caused her some kind of metaphysical inconvenience to the point that she felt she had to berate me for ten minutes because of leasing a vehicle. How that is anyone's business but my own is beyond me, but that wasn't my last encounter with ineptitude and inaccuracies.they actually managed to enter the incorrect VIN number on my paperwork. And not by one or two switched numbers, the ENTIRE NUMBER is wrong. That would have been an interesting conversation had I been pulled over.name and VIN were wrong on the registration. (SIGH). ETA: the corrections have been made to my registration. And just wanted to reiterate everyone's really nice, just need a bit of quality control.

Can't stand that crazy man in the front. Stfu dude, you are making the already terribly long wait, even worse.

What the heck is wrong with the greeter dude. Jeff? Geoff? I have no idea but that dude has issues. Otherwise the place is fine, lmao.

I've had to go 2x in the past couple of weeks on both sides, tags and Drivers License and they have been so friendly and helpful. I will Never go to another DMV when we have the best in Merritt Island!
