So amazing I wish I could live here. The meerkats came right up to the glass for me which made me feel like a Disney princess: D All the animals are so cool and I wish I could have stayed longer. Also shoutout to the awesome zookeeper who let me pet a goat, he made my day!

Loved this place! If we lived closer, we would be here often. Bit different than your average zoo. Love the layout. Food was good too. Flamingo cafe was a long wait. Part of our crew ordered there for special (Boca burger) and salad. But i walked back up to the entrance where they had hotdogs, regular burgers and brats. And i was back to the table at Flamingo before they got their food. We even tried the deep fried bacon (tastes like pancakes and bacon).

We fed the giraffe and the birds. And we hit up the splash pad. This was so much fun!

This is a great zoo. Most of he animals are not caged and kept in a more natural habitat. The animals that were caged had plenty of room to move around. We took a guided kayak tour. Lots of fun and very informative.
My wife freaked out in the bird feeding area. The birds perched on her arms and shoulders. We were warned not to feed the cockatos, but they seemed tame.
We did not feed the giraffes but other patrons were. We were amazed at how the giraffe came right up to the feeding /observation deck. The entire Expedition African area was very impressive.
The jaguar enclosure in the south american La Selva area impressed us. We were startled when we saw a jaguar looking down on us. It was standing on a walkway above us.
We did not do the zip lining, but those that were participating appeared to be having lots of fun.
All in all a very impressive zoo. It is obvious their passion to keep the zoo natural.

Great family place. This zoo is actually a conservation establishment, so you will see less animals but in better surroundings.

There is enough to please small and big kids, although I would say this place is particularly appropriate for toddlers and young children.

Staff is very friendly and helpful. Food concession is well priced and fresh. We were very happy with the healthy choices.

We stayed there 5 hours, never being bored, and left cause they were closing.

I would definitely recommend.

Really great place with a lot of variety of animals. They also do a lot of small things like shows or bringing out animals for people to see and pet - like monitor lizards, snakes, tortoises. A lot of things for small children to do as well. Every holiday, they do a little something extra. They also keep times when they feed the animals posted up so you can be sure to be at the exhibit to see that, and they will tell you a lot about the animals during that time, answering a lot of questions. You also get to see some training. Right now for a few months there will be a dinosaur exhibit as well.

Some of my favorite exhibits are the kangaroos and birds. The kangaroo area you are able to go in and follow a path, and the kangaroo tend to be lounging along the path.
The bird enclosures, there are two, you can go into and be with the birds as they fly freely around. For one dollar, you can get some feed for them and take it inside. If you are patient and calm, birds will fly right onto you and eat. A really fun experience. Always my favorite.

There is also a train ride. It is three dollars per person. It isnt a very long ride but it is fun, you get to go see some critters you wouldnt get to see around the zoo.
You can also feed the giraffes for a couple dollars which is very fun. They come right up to you. Really wonderful thing for young kids especially.

Also for young kids there is a water play area, a playground, and a petting zoo. Also a little indoor area where they can play veterenarian and see some reptiles. That area has veterenary play equipment and costumes along with stuffed animals and videos of actual food prep and procedures done in the zoo. There is also a fossil dig area here. I believe the zoo also rents out strollers. In the water play area, kids also have the opportunity to feed the rays for free. They keep the feeding time posted. The water play area itself has a play boat, a shallow pool - maybe one foot - a slide, touch pool with small ocean critters, bathrooms, tables, tons of chairs, a nursing area sort of tucked in ghe trees a little if you want some privacy, and a tortoise area. There is also a restaurant leading into this area. The petting zoo has alpacas and goats, and I believe they recently trained a monitor lizard for this area as well. The playground is actually quite large. Lots of room to run around and a fun playset to go inside and climb.

The zoo also offers kayaking, paddleboating, and ziplining. Those cost extra but not too terribly much.
The cafe is a little pricey but they have a large variety. There is also a DippinDots cart in that area.

The dinosaur exhibit is really lovely. There are large animatronic dinosaurs that move and make noise. Children get the opportunity to dig up bones, water sift bags of real fossils to keep ($5), help uncover the researchers dig out actual fossils, and see a lot of really cool fossils and replicas while learning a lot. Going in this exhibit costs 3 dollars extra per person. But it is surprisingly long and we spent 2 hours there alone when we last went.

The kids always have a great time here and enjoy seeing all the animals, their favorite being the giraffes, which you can feed, if you come at the right time. There is a splash pool/wading pool that's a lot of fun for toddler age children, my kids used to love it. The zoo is clean, and has been well maintained throughout the years, and they've added new exhibits and revamped other areas, which makes it more appealing to the local crowd, but for anyone visiting it'll be an enjoyable activity for an afternoon. The ropes course is fun for kids or adults, just check the height requirements for your kids, and I recommend stopping there to check if there's a wait, prior to entering the zoo, and planning to do that either at the beginning or end of your visit, as it's just easier on time. The family memberships are a good value if you plan on visiting additional times throughout the year, and they're reasonably priced, and also a better value than paying individual ticket prices. Just wear comfy clothes and put on your sunscreen, because pretty much the entire zoo and exhibits are all in direct sunlight, and it can be a bit too hot during certain times of the year to really enjoy it, so plan according to the weather.
