Brooker Creek Preserve & Environmental Education Center reviews

. Don't tell anybody how great this place is.
Super friendly staff! Great indoor education center with beautiful displays that captivate both children and adults!
I noticed the sign as I was driving by. So I drove in to see what was there, not really expecting to stop. But when I saw there was a visitor center I parked and went into check it out. There was an art exhibit in one building and wildlife exhibit in the other building. I’ll definitely be back to check out the trails when it’s a little cooler outside.
Learn more about the animal inhabitants, and the plants in the preserve. An outdoor irl experience with a guide. Fun, and you see deer, turtles and other cute critters out there.
We had a lovely hike, about 6.5 miles, on the black water cutoff trail and the wildwood trail. From other comments part of this trail is often under water but it seems at the moment to be dry along the whole trail. They are renovating some of the trails so we did a bit of backtracking at the end but only about 1/4 mile. Met a little snake and saw a few birds.
This is the coolest environmental education center I’ve ever been too, and I’m working at an environmental education center. This place is my environmental educational center dreams.
We enjoyed this park! We took the longer trails which may have been a bit too much for our youngest but she pushed through! Bring lots of water and use the restrooms before you start lol. As we were headed back, we ran into a trail that was closed so we had to circle back a little bit.
Such a beautiful park. Peaceful and a great way to get my kids involved in my exercise. We didn't get to the auditorium or the shop but we will be back for sure! Large park so we did not make it through all of it. Saw a baby gator in the water and heard lots of birds chatting!
5800 acre Preserve. Offering many trails, guided hikes such as birds, plants, fungi. Nature center.
Friendly staff. Shout out to Julia, James, Lara and Katie in the nature store. All so knowledgeable and ready to share.beautiful boardwalks. Swallow tail kites are back.
Nice local environment and hiking preserve. Good for school visits and also has about 5 miles of hiking trails.
The hiking trail is closed. They don't have that on their site, they don't tell you that at the entrance, nothing. You just have to assume it is no longer open.
I can't believe something so gorgeous is so close by! The staff we met at the center were amazing, friendly, and helped teach our kids some stuff. Genuinely good people that just love nature. Perfect weekend activity
Very beautiful probably most beautiful and one of the largest preserve in the area. Nice board walk. It is all green and wild life
I needed to discover this place. I have lived in south Pinellas county for most of my life yet never took the time to check out the preserve. Once on the trails, I was pretty much on my own. One of the most wonderful aspects of the park is the absolute silence I was able to find. Nothing but wind kissed tree limbs, birds, and the occasional rustling of leaves from retreating lizards. I seriously can't wait to go back and explore the preserve with my family.
Brooker Creek Preserve & Environmental Education Center is a wonderful destination for nature enthusiasts. The trails offer a variety of habitats to explore, and wildlife sightings are frequent. You can see various bird species, tortoises, snakes, and even the occasional coyote. Some areas are currently undergoing construction, but the majority of the trails are well-maintained and provide an excellent opportunity to connect with nature.
This Preserve has the best environmental educational facility I have ever visited. It is staffed by very helpful people. Don’t miss the video at the Center. It tells the story of the land you are on. From the history of its various uses over the last 120 years or so you will learn about how people impact land and for good and for ill, from lumbering to cattle ranching to orange groves to yet another buck to be made by a developer. When we visited yesterday the parking lot appeared nearly full but you wouldn’t know it during your visit. Numerous trails spread out throughout the 8,700 acres. We took only the Ed Center Trail which covers the terrain and its various strata, marsh and hammock. Fascinating and so enlightening.
