Budget Car Rental, Margate FL

Picked up a car yesterday and had to return because the maintenance light came on! 40 cars on the lot and was told we have no cars! Called customer service and was told to leave a bad review!

Never again. I saw a $69 charge that I have no idea what it's for. Plus my authorization hold of $350 has yet to be put back on my debit card. I feel like I went to rent a car & basically got robbed of an additional $419 in addition to the $244 I paid to rent the car. I called the 1800 number about my money & they claimed my money was issued back out to me, but there is no such trace in my account. These ppl are scam artist. I believe you're safer going with enterprise. I'm so hurt & disappointed. I can't afford the money they've taken from me. Just for a 2 day rental

I rented a mini van and it was awesome and perfect just what I needed for! Me and my family

Had a reservation for a van at 10: 00 AM. It's currently 11: 45 AM and I'm still at the facility.

It took Mike behind the counter 20 minutes just to check me in when there was no one else in the building.

The van's lights were left on overnight (allegedly) which killed the battery.

The old white man who works "maintenance" was asked to jump the battery and literally was standing around staring at the van and jumper cables for over 10 minutes.

When he actually started to jump the car he touched the wrong +/- and sparks started flying.

I actually have a video of this because I felt like I was in a sitcom.

I'm sitting here in the lobby waiting to cancel and have been for the past 15 minutes.

My review is somewhat overdue but nevertheless I had to convey my absolute satisfaction with my customer experience at this particular car rental location. I’ve been lucky enough to have my reservation being managed by Alex multiple times and I can’t say enough of his overall professionalism and courteous demeanor towards ALL his customers! He is very sharp and on point throughout every step of your rental process and customer experience, and expects and demands the same from his team as well. I can assure you that he will go the extra mile to make sure your rental experience is as seamless and uneventful as possible, and that your needs are met to your total satisfaction. Alex…I tip my hat to you sir! Keep up the OUTSTANDING job you keep providing your valued customers. I can assure you, just like me, they’ll keep coming back!

One thing I like about renting cars is quick in and out service. Thia is a smaller facility but service was fast. Alex was very helpful and provide GREAT Customer Service. I'll definitely frequent here and recommend.

The customer service rep.blatantly added insurance after I clearly declined it. When I returned the car and called back to question a charge on my receipt. Was told it was insurance. I asked for a refund and was told by I assumed the manager nothing he can do at this point! I called the 800# the Cs rep.refunded me. Budget Great the Margate Fl.location check your receipt completely! Better not be in a hurry

I was very pleased with my service in renting my cars. Our representatives went above and beyond to research the availability of the cars that were needed and didn’t stop communication until all was handled.

I would recommend Avis to all of my peers. And I will definitely continue to use Avis for all of my rental needs.

Well, i wanted to wait untill the drop off to see how the whole thing went and in one word. FANTASTIC. Everything from beginning to end went smoothly with the most helpfull and polite people you could ask for, like Michael at the pick up and Danielle at the drop off. I just can't believe some of the negative reviews, it just goes to show,
"You just cant make some people happy". I have been renting for the better part of 40 years and this was one of the best. Thank you Budget.

Good customer service provided by Alex when we rented a12 foot truck for a one way rental. We closed it for the unlimited miles. Truck was clean but the back was high not low like some U-Hauls. Truck didn't have a ramp to make loading it easier.

I rented a vehicle for a day from here. I pretty much had no complaints. The check back in part can be a little faster but I recommend here and the nice prices. Good franchisee/ownee, good business. They may not always answer the phone btw but they're there

Absolutely don’t go here. Go to Enterprise or somewhere else. Returned 15 min late after hours due to horrible traffic, no key drop off. Charged me a full day for being late. $200 for me to hold the key and return the next day. Complete waste of money

Don’t use budget rent a car in margate. Horrible service. Car smelled like sickness or urine. Very bad smell. I’m still sick a week later. Paid 844$ for 4 days. Stay away. Unclean cars

I never leave reviews to condemn people or companies but the manager Alex and the other staff were absolutely useless and disrespectful in their attempts to be an assistance. On my last day of having the rental car, my AirPods fell through the center console because there was a missing piece that was suppose to be closed off. I was told to that there was nothing that they could do while they watched me attempt to retrieve the item. While I was leaving the lot, they immediately jumped in the car and drove it around back. I’ve been playing phone tag with the Margate location, the airport, and corporate. It’s been a week with no answers or any type of resolution. I travel to south Florida at least four times a year and I rent a vehicle every time I visit. I will no longer give Budget my business and will gladly rent from their competitor.

My rental car was returned early and I was charged the full amount and was told if I booked in person they would've refund me. Because I booked online they kept all my money. I called corporate and they mailed my bank a letter that kept me from getting any sort of refund. I paid $180 for a single day. I wish an attorney could contact me. There's others out there just like me.

I’m not one to jump to reviews because I know that’s not the say all and I’m a very forgiving person but let me be the first to say that this one of the most disrespectful companies we have ever dealt with. The rental was fine all week until we realized on the last day there was a MISSING PIECE that is supposed to close off a gaping hole in the inside of the center console. Our AirPods ended up falling through and we could see them but couldn’t fit our hands through. So we returned the vehicle and asked for help to which we were flat out refused and stared at for HOURS while we struggled to find anything we could to get the plastic piece off to get them. Once we gave up, they came outside and took the car away so fast. This company and the manager is a joke and corporate hasn’t been much better themselves. This will be resolved I promise you that.
