Budget Car Rental, Fort Lauderdale FL

I bargain hunt for car rentals, for both work and pleasure- I admit it! More and more, I find myself renting from Budget, as I did most recently at Fort Lauderdale Airport. My notes on rental are as follows: Good price.
Nice automobile.
Helpful employee when I had a question on the Fuel Levels when I was leaving the lot. He made the note.
Had an issue after returning the card. Gentleman on the phone (Eugene, perhaps?) was quite helpful and resolved the problem.
What else can I say but thank you!

This company is a nightmare. The car had serious engine and transmission problems. Because of this, we almost got killed on the highway. I called "roadside assistance", and after 2 hours of waiting for a tow truck in a parking lot, I called roadside assistance for the 10th time. They wanted us to continue waiting there to protect their car or "You will be responsible for any loss and damage due to abandonment of the vehicle" they said. Not to mention the aggressiveness and lack of empathy of ALL the Budget employees I spoke with on the phone.

Terrible! Cars aren't well maintained. Took 3 trys to get a vehicle without issues. NEVER buy fuel option. I was talked into it by representative that I would be credited if I brought back vehicle full. I wasn't credited and now have to send in receipt for gas inspite of informing attendent and bringing it back totally full. Also no credit for time wasted having to return two vehicles beefore finally getting one with no issues.

The lady behind the desk was anything but kind.l, she spoke to me, as though I was a child, and did nothing but lecture and was a rude experience by far. The car itself was subpar, pieces actually fell off of it as we continue down the road. It is obvious that there was no maintenance done to this vehicle. As soon as we got in the car, all of the tire pressure gauges went off, each tire was low, which worried us our entire trip. We were also concerned with the vehicle, not being able to scan out of the garage properly. The last thing you want to worry about on your vacation is the car being reported stolen and you going to jail for something that isn’t accurate. By far the worst experience ever with a car rental agency.

Rate that I originally booked it for was increased when I picked up the vehicle. Not including the hold they place in my card. The lady at the pick up counter at FLL was rude and seemed to be more concerned with having a conversation with other team members than the excessive long wait that we endured. It was over an hour wait to receive the vehicle. Why even bother to make reservations when you’re going to get told at the counter that they don’t have any vehicles and you’re going to have to wait. Would like to be contacted by someone in their corporate office. Not satisfied at all.

Make sure you check your car for ants! Mine was loaded with them, it is not a part of being in FL.

Car we received was very beat up with dents and numerous scratches. Peach pit from previous renter was still in drivers side door pocket.

The biggest car scammers, we rented with this company with full insurance.
At the time of return they told us that everything was fine. However, after three days they charged us €450 for dirty seats, which among other things was not true because we also have the video. We will get to the bottom of this matter

Vehicle was unsafe. Driver door did not latch closed after I opened it from the interior of the vehicle. Customer service hung up on me 3 times. They would not replace the vehicle at my location. They told me to drive it to the nearest budget office. I had to tie the door closed. There is much more to this story about the treatment and ridiculousness of the agent at budget, but I will only say do not under any circumstances ever rent from budget at fort Lauderdale Airport. This app will not allow me to post without at least 1 star. I give them no stars.

The service received from budget rental was outstanding. The ease of checking out and in were quick and easy

Two hour wait at the Budget counter at Ft. Lauderdale airport then another 40 minutes in the garage waiting for the car. Terrible service and terrible experience.

For our honeymoon in the Keys we requested a convertible. The car was there, beautiful, priced right - it was a 5 star experience start to finish.

The car that I requested was unavailable, so without hesitation the Budget representative upgraded me at no extra charge. The vehicle was in excellent condition. I loved my ride.
