Budget Car Rental reviews
14I picked up the car and the agent said it wasn't cleaned and had less than 1/4 tank of gas. I said ok just doing a one way drop at the airport. I got a notification from Budget charging me $125 for pet hair in the car. Call Budget and they eventually removed the charge. On a previous rental I was assessed a fueling charge, notified that the fuel level was above the pick up level and sent a picture. Again they removed the charge. It looks like this is their normal mode of operation. Truly an abusive business practice, get what ever you can! Beware of Budget
I was going to rent a car from this location but after reading these reviews I think not. What’s even more alarming is the none response to the customers reviews from the merchant.
This place is trash, the owner is greedy and treat customer like garbage. He will try to charge you unjustly and invent lies to surcharge you. It’s mostly going to give you a dirty car and with half tank of gas
Rented a car and the forced me to get a truck to drop off at Orlando International Airport because they said they had no full size veh you don't know what your going to get the veh dirty bad experience
Me and my husband had a pleasant visit when we rented the Camry. It was clean and filled with gas.
Customer service was HORRIBLE, staff was extremely rude, I believe her name was Karen (ironically). Had to call corporate to have the issue fixed and it STILL wasn’t fixed. Budget is garbage and this location is the worst.
The rep at the front desk has no customer service skills. Rude as can be then tried to charge me an extra $100 for coming a half hour early. Luckily corporate honored the original quote. Rental was in bad shape. Very dirty and pet hair all over inside. Will never use this location again.
The first time I went to budget I was disrespected and threatened by an older man behind the counter. He yelled at me in front of several other customers. Mind you, I am a 4’11 lady and this man was easily 6 feet. Despite bringing me to tears the man continued to be rude. He refused to give me a receipt and gave me the keys to a dirty vehicle. The vehicle, a white Kia Soul, had deodorant marks on the seat and dirt/debris all over the floor of the driver seat. After the horrible treatment and very dirty car I took the keys back and decided not to go forward with the rental. A few days later I called budget customer svc and let them know what happened. The guy that helped me was very kind and understanding. He provided me with a free 2 day rental. Unfortunately the only 2 locations within a 30 min distance was the same location in the mall or the airport. The airport locations have different rules on credit cards so I could not choose that location. When I went to pick up my “free” rental, the man who initially insulted me was the one behind the counter again. He asked how I had a free rental if I have no rental history on my budget account. I reminded him if the horrible experience and he said “I just don’t understand why you came back if that’s how you feel” He then gave me a car that didn’t start. After being there for an hour, I was put into a different car. I left that location after 1pm on Saturday. I returned the vehicle Monday at 1: 19pm, right after going to the gas station and filling it up. Today when I received my receipt I was charged an addl $92. The receipt states because the vehicle was an hour late (it was not) and not full of gas, but I know I filled it. After calling the location for over 15 min Karen answered and told me she was with a customer and she couldn’t help me and hung up the call. I went to the location in person and was told I could not enter the building and that I was now added to the "Do Not Rent" list. I recorded my entire interaction the second time, I learned after my first experience. I will NEVER rent with budget again. I will be uploading the video shortly.
I was hit from behind getting off the highway in my rental. Budget was very helpful with this situation.
Princess as this was the name the clerk gave to me. First let me say that this location is inside a mall which doesn’t state in my email reservation. So my Uber driver drove around looking for a free standing building. I didn’t see any signs at the mall or banners or parking spaces indicating budget. Once we drove to the back of the mall I saw a small sticker on the entrance door for Avis and budget. Once you walk into the mall the office is off to the right. When i arrived there was a sign on the door indicating that the the clerk was outside with a customer. I beg to differ. The women had a soda and snack in her hand. I explained that we couldn’t find this location mid sentence she interrupted me. I’m certain I’m not the first but she wouldn’t hear me out. Blamed my Uber driver for not knowing his way around and myself.
I explained I was not from the area so how was I suppose to know this.
She wouldn’t allow me to finish talking and threatened to cancel my reservation and that I could go to the airport.
The situation escalated to the point that she was so irate she threatened to look me up in Texas, and come and harass me at my place of employment. I asked to please give me my receipt so I can be on my way, her response was the receipt is printing that’s why it’s making the printing sound.
I said I’m sorry you work for a company that doesn’t support it’s employees. I said that I’m sure she’s a nice person but the company or management have not improved their services so people continue to leave bad reviews with no repones from budget.
We have been customers of budget for 15 years and never have I experienced such horrible service.
She kept telling me in the five years she’s worked in numerous locations budget doesn’t state that their locations are inside a mall or self standing building.
She told me there are no budget spaces indicative and that I would have to walk around the parking lot sounding the alarm. I found my rental filthy inside and splattered bugs across the windshield.
I hope the airport location is a lot more professional than this location.
Hands down the worst customers service ever.
DO NOT DO BUSINESS HERE! What a horrible experience! Not sure where to start. First, the office smells! The clerk was not helpful at all. I was given a rental that needed maintenance: dirty all around, it vibrated in the highway and loud rear wheel bearing noise (humming noise). Returning the rental was even worse! Had to pay extra because of their hours of operations (close early). Had questions about returning the vehicle and clerk just took the keys and left. My guess, she is used to people complaining when returning rentals.
Unreliable service, cars dirty with smell of weed. Was afraid to let my kids touch anything in car. Costumer service was horrible.
Reserved, prepaid for full sized car. Upon arrival was told they only had a mini van for me. After going to car, saw warning light on and tire was way low. Went back in, told them and basically they said it was that car as is or a Hyundai accent which once I got to it I realized is a sub compact. Of course it's older and has no Sirius availability (I paid for it) and the key fob doesn't work so I'm using the key hidden in the fob to lock and unlock. Came back a day later to location to switch out as it's too teeny, I'm paying still for full size with Sirius. They said sorry they have nothing. There's no way to call them directly as their direct line was removed. 800 # says they have availability. Locally they say no. So. I don't have much recourse in paying for a full sized Sirius equipped vehicle and getting a teeny subcompact with no Sirius and a broken fob. Never ever will use budget/avis again. They are not customer friendly at all. Oh. I also prepaid so even if I went to another company and got a car, I lose entire amount at budget.
