Butterfly Rainforest at the Florida Museum of Natural History reviews
13It was raining so the Butterflies weren't as busy as they were when it's dry. Still a great time. Got to watch a butterfly come out of its cocoon!
Very nice place to visit. The butterflies were abundant beautiful colors. The plants and flowers were gorgeous. I have been many times over the years and I always enjoy it.
I initially took my daughter there for the butterfly garden. We ended up falling in love with the entire museum. It was a very fun and educational experience, I'd highly recommend.
Super beautiful place, the whole museum it’s free to walk around even couple butterfly exhibition are free, they have small store to buy souvenirs parking was 4$. Love it super pretty place
The museum in general was wonderful, but the butterfly sanctuary was such a magical little place. As you walk into the door you're surrounded by so many different butterflys just doing their thing. Theirs little benches along the path to have a seat or photo op. Theirs a koi pond with beautiful fish.
It's situated beside Florida museum inside University of Florida. In fact the entrance is same for both. It's a small corner, inside the museum. But it seems like a heaven. Such a beautiful collection of lively butterflies. There are also some tiny little birds. There is also a zen style koi fish pond. In short it will calm our mind by blending with the nature. The best part is there are directories with pictures of each butterfly. So anyone can know the details of them also. For UF students it's free.
What a great time. The butterfly and spider exhibits were amazing. As was all the other displays. Very informative. Something for all age groups.
This was the highlight of our museum visit. There are so many butterfly and plant varieties to enjoy. There are also several seating areas. Beautifully done.
If you like butterflies and if you like tropical plants this is the place to go. Both my wife and I love plants and are intrigued with butterflies. This had the best of both worlds. They even sell plants. A must for children of all ages. We also went to the other museums there. Great day.
Spider/Butterfly Rainforest actually closes at 4: 30 not 5. Those hours need to be changed, the museum closes at 5 and the butterfly rainforest closes earlier, please fix that.
Very nice place to take the family or even a solo trip.lots of butterflys and other artifacts/exhibits to explore!
First time for me. It was very hot. Approx. 100 heat index. It was absolutely beautiful. Full of information. Did I say beautiful. All the plants and butterflies. The girls had a good time. The blue ones are huge. There is a po d with fish and a turtle. We saw quail skittering under the bush. We went on a Saturday. Lots and lots of people. The Spider exhibit can be purchased in combo. We just did butterflies. Then after you can tour the free exhibits. There is a children's area with lots of seating for us older kids.worth every cent.
Wonderful place. We came on a summer weekend and the butterflies were swarming the place. If you stand still you can get lucky and have one land on you! Don't chase them though. I recommend this place as a quick thing to do but don't miss out of the rest of the museum as well! Very friendly staff too, we will be coming back.
