9Owner was very friendly and helped me find some books by local authors, including a children’s book for our kids. The store was clean and organized. Great experience and I can’t wait to enjoy our books!
My favorite! Everyone is very friendly and helpful! I've donated a couple small boxes of books to their selection, too! A true gem!
Love this place. Good selection of books. Great gifts ideas galore. Nice clerks. The dude who was working in there at Christmastime was super personable. Didn’t get his name.
I have frequented this used bookstore/post office quite frequentlly in the last 3 yrs.
I was happy to hear that it was under new ownership.new owners are friendly & the atmosphere is now much more pleasant.however I am very concerned that 1 of the employees still refuses to wear a mask.my understanding is that there is now a law/mandate that masks are required in federal buildings & since you have a post office I think this new mandate applies to you.
This employee is also rude to me as well as other customers.
I will try 1 more time but if she refuses to wear a mask it will be my last time.
I came to this store for every gift and nicknack, and have used the post office quite often in the past 3 years.
But today I saw SEVERAL people enter the store without a mask. I didn’t feel comfortable walking in, so I called and asked if they are requiring masks inside the store. NO. Was the answer.
Well, you just lost my business and the business of my family. It’s disgusting that you’d put mine and anyone else’s lives at risk by not requiring customers to wear a mask.
Aside from the fact that 4 out of 5 women that work there are rude.
It is convenient to my home, in a little grocery store plaza, and has used books and gift items, as well as a mini post office. If you turn in books, you get credit towards other book purchases. The staff is knowledgeable and pleasant. Free books are available outside.
6/13/19 Edited after owner reply: I’d heard about this bookstore a few months back and was excited to check it out this past Monday.
The atmosphere is classic for a bookstore- stacks of books creating a literary maze you could get lost in, and with trinkets of all sorts along the way.
For the beach and wine lovers, this place is a goldmine for unique gift ideas. I was impressed with their variety and amount of Hallmark-inspired items you wouldn’t find anywhere else.
Their book selection was impressive too. There was a huge variety of fiction and local St. Augustine books, and one side of shelves contained hundreds of nonfiction and memoirs. The only section I didn’t see was a kids area. There was a good mix of new and used books, and the used had very little wear.
This book shop also serves as a post office, and the clientele was split between those racing in and out for the mail services, and those meandering the aisles perusing books.
The staff were very helpful, but are located all the way at the back of the store.
Overall- great selection, and upon hearing back from the owners here on reviews, great communication. I think I was accidentally charged for a used book at a new price which led me to the incorrect assumption about their pricing. Accidents happen, but I appreciate the owners willingness to reply to my review and mention their pricing policies.
First visit today & was very impressed. Well organized with a great selection, and fun gift items as well! Will definitely be back!
