Almost everything was a bad experience. It took a long time to return my husband's ashes. The calls did not return. Little empathy and consideration.

My father passed away in October of 2022. We paid for a bronze plaque to put on his tomb. It is now October 2023. There is no plaque. When we asked why it's been so long, they said we never paid for it. I thankfully kept all my receipts and confirmed with them that I had a paid receipt. They made me bring it on because they could not find their triplicate copy. This was after multiple calls to them. I did bring it in and then they ask me to pay again to have it made quickly. Quickly? It's been a year, a YEAR, and you want to charge me to make it quickly? My vendor was lissette. I honestly think she was one of the cadavers they brought in and propped her up to do sales. She loses documents, is unprofessional, and never returns calls, to then ask us to pay for a plaque that is already paid? Ridiculous. She needs to be retired and then put back in the tomb they pulled her out from.

When we made the arrangements over the phone with a counselor everything seemed fine but then we found out that the counselor had made the contract for the service with another location, and we were forced to go there because they could not change the contract. We explained that it was not our fault that the counselor made that mistake, and we wanted the service to be held at the cemetery location but were told that they could not help, they canceled our appointment and forced us to go to the other location. The day of the burial upon leaving the mausoleum site we noticed that all of the flowers that we purchased ($1000) were on the floor by the fountain and were not brought near the burial site as we had expressed. The lack of care and professionalism is hard to describe from everyone. If not for my father and grandparents being buried there already, I would have left and purchased at another cemetery location. Horrible service and customer care. I chose 1 star because I was not allowed to choose zero on this review.

These people give you the run around, they do not take responsibility for their part in anything and they do not notify the family of next steps as stated. At this time families need compassion and this is not what was received. Shamonique was our rep and it felt like a transaction and the compassion needed at the time was not there. I would never recommend this place to anyone

The Director, Ms. Coffee was most helpful and very knowledgeable; she made sure of every detail of the process, especially because my relative had to be shipped out for the funeral in Jamaica, W. I. Ms. Coffee did all this while making me feel lifted up during this most difficult time.

Please don't make any business with this place. I have a lot of bad experiences with this place from day one. They are very desorganized, very rude and they don't have any sympathy for the family. We have to tell them several times, including sending email how to spell/write the name our beloved one, and they still write it wrong. The maintenance is very bad, etc.

Great cemetery! Not only have I experienced some wacko employee driving around before closing honking like a lunatic to usher you out with no respect for mourners or the dead but they provide a Santeria dead chicken in the entrance. This was at 3 pm so they have already had most of the workday to notice and remove it. I never visit my grandmother's remains any more, this place has too much dark energy. After today I know I will never go in there again.

When we are born, they do not teach that the End of Life also exists, that is why we do not worry, however the generation of my Grandmother and my Mother programmed it in their own way. Thank God my Mom did it and everything was more consistent for me.

WARNING! DO NOT USE THIS BUSINESS IF GRIEVING! I am writing this review to alarm others of my family and I’s horrible experience with how this funeral home (Caballero Woodlawn South) operates their business. We are absolutely floored but the lack of empathy shown during such a difficult time in our lives. My family and I planned for our loved one to be cremated with no further packages purchased, this was done approximately 2 months prior to our loved ones passing. Prior to reaching an agreement, we were called no less than 5 times per day for the next 2 days to close out on payment. Red flag number 1, but we ignored it. Done, purchased. Fast forward, 2 months later, our loved one passes away, and we were called to let us know we were scheduled to meet the following day after our loved ones passing at X time, without even consulting with us if the date/time was even in agreement with us. Red flag number 2. My family and I arrive to the meeting, as we conversate we realize that we need to change the type of urn our loved one will be given too us in, we are told it can take up to 3 weeks to receive the remains back but we would get a call with date of cremation and after that it will take 2-3 days to be called for pick up. All understandable. 10 days later, we receive that call that our loved one will be cremated X Day and again, they say we will call you with a pickup in 2-3 days…this is on a Friday. Comes along Monday, no call, Tuesday, no call. Wednesday, I decide to call to as for status, I am given the worst customer service and attitude over the phone I have ever received in my life, with any question I asked, attitude was given back. You would think in this business… people would be kinder to the person on the other side of the phone. I am told that “If you haven’t received a call, its not ready” … great… Thursday comes along, I ask for the funeral home director, Sabrina, she informs me that the Urn is on “back order” and it should be here the next day. Its shocking to me that they tell family they can pick up their loved one in 2-3 days after cremation, yet they are unable to communicate when issues arise…provide a courtesy call… meaning if I wasn’t persistent, I would have never known. Here it gets tricky. Friday I call to find out if the urn arrived and I can pick up my loved one but I am told (again, with attitude) that Sabrina isn’t working that day nor will she be working Saturday and she won’t be back until Monday and she is the only person in the whole place that can check anything for me, therefore I need to call back when she is in. How I see it, there’s the lie… why would she say something will arrive Friday, knowing she wont even be there to follow through! How unprofessional… Monday comes along and guess what I call again! And guess who isn’t there either… you guessed it funeral director, Sabrina! No one can check, no one can answer me where my loved one is, I have MAJOR concerns, have hey lost him? ! And no answers…It has been 9 days since my loved one was cremated and not at home with us! I finally decide to go in person and obtain answers. I am told “oh if you would have been here during covid, it was taking 3 months” … guess what… thankfully for us its not COVID time and we were told a timeline and we are given no answer. We are told that Sabrina isn’t in but we persisted. Miraculously, our loved one’s urn is found and a new funeral director was able to place the ashes into the urn and FINALLY we were able to take our loved one home. Overall, what a terrible experience, lack of communication, lack of professionalism. In a business where empathy should be an absolute priority.the distrust I have in this place is 100%. No one that is grieving should have to go through that ADDITIONAL emotional ROLLERCOASTER. Never again. I DO NOT RECOMMEND. Please go elsewhere if you want to have a smooth transition during this difficult time.

My name is Carlos M Martinez, I have recently had the horrible experience of having to put my grandmother to rest!
Not only was it bad because of course I lost my grandmother but because this funeral home has given my family the worst experience ever! I can not believe that these people have left us in awe with all the mistakes and pointing the blame towards each other!
Very disrespectfully they left my grandmothers makeup looking like a clown to say the least not at all what the picture we provided looked like!
Also last minute they made us change the casket, they did not put any of the jewelry provided or neck scarf etc. Victoria was a disaster and not pleasant at all to talk to or be around! The day of the viewing there were none of the people we have been dealing with therefore they had no idea of any of the things we asked for and paid for. The memorial cards say the same thing over and over about 12 times. Font is so small you need a microscope. This place is a joke.

The worse part is that we have another plot here for my great Grandmother so I have to go through this all over again. I am more than terrified for what my family will have to endure the next time we have to come here! We would never recommend this place to anyone who would like a simple smooth process as it should be. Take my warning and do your research before dropping any deposits or make any decisions! Go elsewhere.

My family and I are very grateful for the assistance in my aunt’s shipping out from New Jersey. The director Sabrina and the receptionist Maria Huertas were very kind and considerate for the moment we were trough.
