I am writing this letter to formally express my concerns and lodge a complaint about a significant misdiagnosis that Dr. Dara Boyce provided during my son’s consultation. As a direct result of a misdiagnosis, we have faced undeserved challenges, including the suspension of my son driving license and the necessity for additional medical tests.

I recommended Dr. Boyce to my son since she was my primary doctor at your Pembroke
Pines Location since 2015. Therefore, my son visited the facility for his annual checkup. Based on Dr. Dara’s assessment, who is NOT a Neurologist – she is a Physician Assistant – my son, Rodrigo A Vargas, was diagnosed with seizures. This diagnosis was reported to the relevant authorities, which led to the immediate suspension of his driving license due to perceived medical unfitness to drive. The FLHSMV let us know that there is a report from a Neurologist in Orlando which my son has never had an appoimentmen.

I was referred to a neurologist at the same location and we are seeking a second opinion and undergoing further medical tests, to determine that the initial diagnosis was incorrect.

The consequences of this misdiagnosis have been both stressful and costly. Not only did my son lose his driving privileges, causing significant inconvenience and impacting our daily life, but we also incurred additional expenses for unnecessary medical tests and consultations to rectify this error.

We understand that medical professionals work under challenging conditions and that diagnostic errors can occur. However, the impact of such errors on patients’ lives is profound. I am bringing this matter to your attention not only to seek redress for the inconvenience and financial burden I have endured but also to highlight the need for more careful diagnostic processes in your practice.

I request that this complaint be taken seriously and investigated thoroughly. I also seek a formal acknowledgment of the error, along with a proper letter that can be provided by your facility to present it to the FLHSMV caseworker immediately.

I look forward to your prompt response to this serious matter. Otherwise we will be force to file a complaint to the Florida Health Department and respectives board.

This was a bad experience, especially if you are a minority of color. I will never go back. They told me one things, and tried to get me to pay something else.

Don't use this office. I came to have some work done at Cano Dental office but they made me wait almost 3 hours and I had to leave the office. When I asked to speak with the manager why it was taking so long, she told the dentist had a "complication with a patient. " Nobody called me to find out why I left.
I called to go back but they have a third party answering service saying someone from Cano will call you back. I even called the corporate office and no-one would answer the phone.
At the beginning I signed up for interest-free finance but they started billing me for work that was not performed.
It was a headache to get that fixed since I had to reach out to the finance company and explain the bad experience.
At the beginning they give you good service, after that, you're just a number.

WARNING. I came to Cano Dental for certain jobs but it was a very bad experience. During the second visit they made me wait almost 3 hours and I had to go home, no one called me to find out what happened. When I called for another appointment, I only got one company that told me that Cano was going to call me back. At first I signed for work financing but they started charging me for work I had not yet received. I had to call the bank to fix this problem.
At first they treat you well, but then you are just another patient.

Tried calling today to see if they accepted my insurance (Liberty) but the lady hung up on me for no reason. Tried calling back a couple times and now they wont answer the phone. I've never run into this before in my life, would never give this place the time of day.

I am very displeased with my experience at the Pembroke location. I scheduled an emergency appointment twice and unhappy both times. The first time i get there in serve pain. I was told the doctor left in an emergency. Which is fine my problem is when the doctors leave isn’t someone supposed to call to reschedule appointments? Nothing was done. I got there and every one was rude and very disrespectful. I asked for a doctors note that day. Which i had to wait over 30 minutes to take to a manger. He then seen aggravated and was really aggressive towards me. I instantly started crying because again I’m in PAIN. I made another emergency appointment for today which is 3/13/2023. Which I’m still in tremendous pain i get there and I’m unable to get anything done. I ask for pain medication the doctor denied me for pain medicine instead i was given antibiotics. The doctor was then started to go back and forth with me. I’m confused on why i can’t have pain medication. This is ridiculous this is the purpose for emergency appointments. Now I’m feeling like it’s an race thing. The workers treated everyone like their skin color well but because I’m dark skin and African American i was treated poorly. I take part in my actions as well i did get out of character. But Customers are always right. This office need more People skills and customers skills

This place is the worse came in today @10 am and was not seen until 1: 15 they don’t care about appointments
