Captain Jim's Seafood Market & Restaurant reviews
18Absolutely delicious gem in north Miami! Fantastic food, very friendly! Glad we found it for Friday dinner with the kids!
Did the brunch special, we ordered the fish and grits and the crabcake benedict. Both came with complimentary mimosas. We had the pleasure of being served by Jody who was both real and warm. Our food was legit, filling and tasty. Ambiance is chill, no frills - down to business. And the dishes were the business. The fish and grits dish had a crazy broth in the same family as a gravy or curry that hit like comfort food or umami vibes. Not a egg person but the crabcake benedict on the green tomato? Sold! Would return and recommend the spot and both dishes.
Sunday, 09-17-23, at 11: 30am. My sister, Sandra Butler treated, Cheryl Jones to a Belated 67th Birthday Lunch. The Appetizer was Conch Balls, Fresh, Tasty & Nicely Seasoned, along with the Dipping Sauce. Sandra entree was The Captain’s Fish, Shrimp & Conch (Fried) + Sautéed Spinach; It was Hot, Appealing, & Scrumptious. Cheryl’s Entree was Shrimp & Grits; was Flavorful, Distinctive. Server was Pleasant, Courteous & Easy to talk to. Let me hand Captain’s Jim Restaurant, their Flowers. Thank You for a Wonderful Experience.
Good spot. We’ve gone here a few times.
Quick Happy hour. Fresh fish definitely.
The shrimp and grits are our favorite. Just so deliciously tasty. Good portion too.
However, I believe a few items are a little overpriced for what you get.
One of our fave spots! We go 3-4 times a month. Fish is fresh and delicious and the menu is extensive! Staff is always welcoming and attentive! Highly recommend this #hiddengem.
This is by far one of best places in Miami to get fresh seafood.
It's always fresh and good. The service is fantastic.
The crab cakes were the best part we felt, very tasty and moreish.
The scallops in lemon & garlic was very nice although given the number of scallops for the price, erm, not convinced. If the prawns had replaced the scallops then that would have been very nice.
The captains combo was nice, the conch had a nice flavour but was rather rubbery.
Expensive for what you get
On the plus side, no worries about vampires this weekend
An unexpectedly beautiful place. Sun is super, especially the service, Joedy is as friendly and professional as possible
Absolutely one of the best places in Miami for fresh seafood. Friendly staff and great service. Blackened conch and Fried Snapper are spectacular! A must visit!
Food was prepared in a timely manner. Very tasty! The gentleman who took my order was very helpful, however, customer service needs serious attention. The waitress with short blonde hair displayed erratic behavior and appeared to be completely overwhelmed. She nearly ruined my brief experience. (To-go order) But good food goes a long way!
Thoroughly enjoyed our dinner here. Very clean inside, great prices for incredibly fresh and deliciously prepared food. Staff was very friendly and the service was quick!
Great seafood, oyster specials Monday-Friday, $1.25 for raw oysters and they were great, super fresh. Place was extremely clean and welcoming, very calm atmosphere
Extremely rude employee and limited seafood. Staff had no desire to help or even be friendly. I won’t be going back.
We love Captain Jim’s! It’s our go to for fresh and delicious seafood. They never disappoint. The waitstaff is friendly and makes you feel welcomed. Gabe and Gree, you guys are the best! We highly recommend this gem for dining in or for their wonderful selection of fresh seafood to fix at home.
Food was amazing. Our server Jody was very nice and sweet. She loves her job for sure. Highly recommend. The shrimp creole was fire. The clam chowder was very fresh, and my cracked counch was so tender and delish.
Great local spot for fresh seafood. And they have stone crabs.
So glad they fired my ex-girlfriend.
The food was above average. We ordered the fish tacos, creole shrimp, and the captain’s tail sandwich. We drove over from Miami Beach because of Internet recommendations…I certainly didn’t think it warrants to drive. The restaurant was clean and our server was friendly!
First time back in a while.
A friend told me he was in and had the
deep fried yellowtail snapper and it was good.
Having never had one I ordered one.
The fish (1.47 lb) with one side $42.62.
It was good but I prefer a fillet.
Also ordered a side of hush puppies $4.99.
Server Jody has been there for ever and always
takes great care of me.
Will be back for sure.
