Capt'n Pete's Pro Shop reviews
14Horrible experience. Owner would not even get off his chair to help with a single thing. Gave me attitude when I asked about live bait since he ran out. Guy definitely doesn’t like people from out of town. I’d stay away. I recommend going to the big yellow bait house. The people are way better and they are half the price and very helpful.
Great and knowledgeable staff. If you are new to fishing and want to shop at a store that will educate you on the different options for catching various fish, this is your place. The live bait is always strong and healthy.
Very clean, much better CS than most the other places we tried, a little pricey but it’s the Keys
Visited Capt'n Pete's Pro Shop last week on a visit to the Keys, I had planned on fishing for the duration of the trip so I needed to pickup a rod and tackle. The man at the counter offered suggestions for what I should buy and was very helpful. Unfortunately an injury stopped me from being able to fish so I was forced to make a return on the items I purchased - they took these items back without a hassle. Upstanding place of business!
They don't answer phone and have wrong time frame for availability made us drive for nothing
Best bait shop on key Largo, when the owners are working the service is better than any tackle shop I've ever been too.
Get your great here!
Live bait from here lasts an incredibly long time
Visited this bait shop one time for live shrimp and frozen mullet.
Owner was not even slightly friendly. I immediately regretted stopping in. I never asked any questions for local knowledge as I could tell owner did not want to talk.
Maybe I got him on a bad day, but I went to the bait store further south the rest of my vacation.
The guys in here are really nice, helpful and they keep the place clean and organized, I like that. I get nice shrimp everytime, they helped my lady when she came in and she only has good things to say. Thanks! See you soon!
Unfriendly service. I wouldn’t recommend this bait and tackle shop. Go a bit further and get your stuff at The Yellow Bait Shop. Much better shrimp and very friendly service.
Ask for your receipt.and double check what you're actually spending vs what the total is at the register. The cashier seemed a little click happy, and charged us about $20 extra. We were in to much of a hurry to argue with the man.
The most helpful experience that we have ever had in any shop EVER! The man working was friendly and patient and extremely knowledgeable. He took time to answer our every question, to give recommendations, to tie knots and show us tricks. They have a large selection of frozen bait, artifical and terminal tackle, and rods and reels. As well as accessories, clothing, and anything else you could possibly need. Cannot say this enough, such a pleasant experience with a very friendly and knowledgeable angler!
The gear is overpriced, These were the smallest bait in the keys, all died within 5 minutes, and way overpriced, Terrible experience and not welcoming at all. Here's a much better shop 5 minutes down the road
Super nice and helpful staff. Best price on fishing gear we found. Advice was on the mark and we had a great of family fishing. Thanks guys!
P. S. Kids are still talking about the store mascot.
Dead loss on shrimp both times I went in. When confronted the employee was rude and denied to even look at the shrimp he had just placed in the bucket. Avoid this place!
