Casa Loma, Panama City Beach FL

My husband and I came here for Thanksgiving to change things up and this was an absolute pleasure. When we first came in we were set to be on the third floor. We asked to be moved to beach level and without hesitation they moved us and let me tell you it’s BEAUTIFUL. The sunset is amazing and the amenities are perfect. We will definitely stay here again on our next trip to PCB. Thank you Casa Loma for the great stay and the hospitality. What a blessing for Thanksgiving.

It was beautiful and we didn't want to leave! Took kayaks for a short trip before we left in the morning.

Was worried after reading reviews but for the price and the beach- WELL worth it! Had the beach to ourselves! Older hotel but room was clean. I did check for bed bugs before moving our stuff in. The outdoor hallway could have uses a good mopping but no other complications. Check in/ out a breeze

The rooms have some improvements, but the rooms are old; especially the full kitchens. This time the shower seems to have old built up moldy corners and the shower curtain has old mold stains.

Very friendly staff. 24/7 security. Vintage hotel, with modern amenities and updated rooms. Great pricing for being right on the beach. Close to dining and entertainment.

Ok, i have read some of the reviews and they pretty much some it up. For the money i guess you get what you pay for. The staff was nice even when i showed up early. As for the four flights of stars they need some work. Once in the room, will the floor seem like it hadn't been swept. Someone mention the mattress that by far was the hardest thing i have slept on, in a long while. The door leading into the room once you close the door you could see where there a space around the door. Yes, I do understand that this is an older place. But, these.things can and need to be looked at.
As for the things they can't fix. I come to PC to enjoy the the sound of the water. Opening the door to hear the waves is the best part of the trip for me. This was not to be my neighbor not sure which one would go outside on their balcony and smoke. Where the smoke would come back into my room.

Reasonable pricing. Some of the rooms are beautiful the color by itself will make you feel good its like a aqua blue and gray and there right on the beach the view was amazing from my room!

When we got in last night the lady at the desk was very nice. She was probably the only nice thing about the hotel. Our room was dirty, floors were sandy and my kids feet were black before long. The doors are not sealed properly so it was very humid in the room. The roof in the bathroom was peeling and falling. Overall just not good.

This place is amazing! Great room, great view, great price! Could not have asked for a better experience on the Gulf!

Just left there. Great find and perfect catch since we book this once we got in the city. I was thrilled with the suite when we arrived late night, but the view at sunrise is stunning. Nothing fancy but decently equipped, Beds were cozy and comfy for us and it was very clean. There is one particular unimpressive housekeeping issue that was overlooked in the bathroom shower but we got over it. We had all we needed for a great rate for my first time at PCB, and I hope to return.

This is an old hotel that needs to be renovated in the worst way. They don't have an elevator. The only truly good thing is that it is right on the beach and the staff is very nice.

The staff was by far welcoming and always nice. The people that were doing the maintenance and cleaning were very nice as well. One end of the hotel has construction going on so it does seem that they are working to update some. My 2 daughters and I came down to enjoy and relax and yes the place may be older, no elevator but I am sure if you can not navigate the stairs when booking make sure you ask for a bottom floor. My Girls and I was on the top floor and did not mind the exercise we got going up and down, hence I do realize some people have issues. Our room was fine and the kitchen was enough for us. We did not come to stay in a room all day but enjoy the beach, the pool etc. We saw stingrays, dolphins and a Manatee and had a fabulous time meeting new people. Very friendly from what we assumed we may run into because of the covid bs.
Now for the downside of our stay was the walls were thin enough we heard the conversation of the people next door plus the couple who was on the other side.

It is not the Marriott but we knew that coming in. If that's what you want this place may not be for you. If you want great beach access, nice pool, low key and a quiet stay this is a great place.

So yes, its an older property. It is excellent for the price. EVERY room has a balcony with beach view! The beach is steps away from the heated pool. The staff is friendly, the parking lot has a security guard, full kitchen with microwave, oven, stove, full size fridge/freezer, and dishes. We had a fantastic stay with the sound of the waves, the view of the sunset, all from the balcony. The room was clean, but the kitchen was dated. New beds, and some new furniture. Thank you to the staff at Casa Loma.

Out of all the beach front hotels in Panama City this is by far the most affordable. Some of the rooms have a full kitchen with all the pots, pans, dishes, utinsels included. Stayed here a few times and it's always been great. Pets are NOT allowed but I have a small service dog and the staff were more than polite about having my dog stay.
All the rooms have a balcony that face the pool and have beautiful ocean views. No, there are not chairs or cabanas provided at this hotel down on the beach. No, there is not a poolside bar or any kind of complimentary breakfast. No, there is no hot tub or fitness room. It's a basic hotel without all the frills.
It is close to everything though since it's on the main beach road (Front Beach). The Pier is a short walk down the beach or sidewalk. Casa loma is right across the street from a delicious pizza place/bar. It's only a few minutes walk from all the gift shops, golf cart rentals and lots of restaurants (like Sharkey's, Margaritaville) in the Pier Park area.
The only downsides are that the bathroom is extremely small and only has a shower and toilet. The sink is located right outside the bathroom door. There is also no elevator so be advised when booking a room on the upper floors. Parking can also be an issue because the lot fills up fast.
For the money, beach front location and close distance to restaurants and attractions Casa Loma is a perfect place to stay.
I stayed again on Friday March 1,2019 and the WiFi did not work the entire night even after front desk reset the modem. It was a decent stay otherwise. Alot of the surrounding area is still in disrepair after the hurricane last year.
We stayed in the Suite during our stay 4/20/2021. Absolutely loved the room. It had a separate bedroom with a King size bed and a second private balcony off the bedroom. We had 4 teenagers with us and everyone had plenty of space in this room. It was completely remodeled and very clean when we arrived. We were given two bottles of hand sanitizer when we checked in which I appreciated despite having our own. The only complaint is still the bathroom. It’s like a closet and you can barely breath once the shower is on. The knobs on the shower were extremely difficult to turn and the water temperature was hard to control. For the affordable price of the room, the location directly on the beach and close proximity to Pier Park, shops and restaurants it’s still my favorite spot to stay while visiting Panama.

I don't understand all the bad reviews because we've had a great time here the staff was absolutely wonderful the front desk girls were very friendly, staff that clean and work around the outside were very friendly I thought the price was wonderful the rooms were great the bed was great I have no complaints pool was heated. I would definitely stay here again and recommend it.

First of all the good, we we able to check in a couple hours early and the clerks were fast and friendly. Our room was clean and the balcony from 4th floor had an amazing view. I did not have any issues with parking. Nick’s pizza is across the street and I highly recommend it. Now for the bad, the beds in 446 were absolutely horrible. If you didn’t have back problems before sleeping in those beds, you definitely will by the time you leave. The bathroom is small but functional, but the shower head barely had enough water pressure to take a shower. I ran the water on hot only for a shower because one slight turn to turn on cold water, the water was ice cold. If the room next to mine flushed their toilet while you were in the shower, the water would get hotter and burn you and once while showering the water just stopped and about 30 seconds later it came back on. We never had an adequate supply of towels and wash cloths. Having no elevator and dragging luggage to the 4th floor is different and definitely a fall hazard with the steps in need of repair. Finally the pool was always ice cold. Most other hotels had heated pools. Also the pool should remain open until at least midnight. PCB is beautiful, but I will never stay at this place again. I will definitely pay a little more for better accommodations.
