Casa Marina Hotel and Restaurant reviews
18 I’ll start with the pros: great location, a time capsule of a hotel, a great view from the rooftop lounge, free yummy breakfast, so many interesting pictures to look at on the walls
SO much potential
But the cons: basically everything in the room is falling apart, the pull out bed was so extremely uncomfortable, the walls were paper thin and we heard some awful noises through the night until 3am (every door opening and shutting, every foot step, furniture being rearranged above us, and even whispered conversations of our neighbors), the side of the hotel looks like a junk yard, and no curtains to block out the light at night, and our coffee maker in our room didn’t work.
Everything is very outdated and needs so much work to restore the beauty of the historic hotel.
Would not stay again
Deserves its share of business in Jax Beach. This is the best place for rooftop martinis and watching the full moon rise.
Lovely place, a true period piece. The bar on the top level with a nice patio is great fun with good drinks, a friendly bar tender, and a food preparer/cook to die for. Drink prices are very reasonable. If I return to Jacksonville Beaches, I might stay at the hotel.
Nice looking place. Next to the beach too but went there for dinner and found the restaurant wasn't serving dinner but a party instead. We even asked the people working the front desk about dinner at the restaurant and they said go upstairs. I probably won't bother again. Place seemed to rowdy for dinner.
Legit horrible service. All the bouncers are so
unprofessional and rude. Asked one of my friends if her date was the "lucky man getting a lap dance" from her tonight. Disgusting. They checked my ID at the door and asked for second form and how to spell my middle name which is fine and then gave
me my band and let me go. Afterwards they
pulled me out from the middle of the event to
check my ID, asked me a million and one
questions and got hostile towards my friends
when they tried to step in and tell them that I am IN FACT over 21. Absolutely disgusting horrible service, they're on a power trip.
I had to add to this review after I left.
They screamed at all patrons as they walked out the door, telling them no drinks were allowed out of the establishment. Once again, I understand this policy but there is absolutely no need to scream at paying patrons here for an event who are not being hostile towards you. We had a 2hr bus ride here and people wanted to bring water back after a long night, and were told that they should have "thought about that before", even though it should have been safe to assume they'd be able to get water from the venue for the way home. Everyone is so disgustingly rude I cannot believe I wasted my time here. Please please go anywhere else.
An absolute gem! Old school- venetian feel! My wife likes bohemian-venetian mash-up! Small, but very quaint and accommodating. We happened to be here when a wedding was going on, and saw everything in full operation. Roof-top terrace and enclosed bar was alive with guests and live music! Tapas style food was available at pretty reasonable prices. Our room was one of the ocean view room and very cozy! We loved it! It's a great place to stay! I also enjoyed all of the artwork display all over the hotel!
The front desk staff was very rude and unprofessional, and were not accommodating. The shower didn't work. The rooms were out dated and not worth it for the price.
I read some reviews that nitpicked the hotel for being out dated, items stored in plain site etc. We found it very nice and would visit again. Our room had a separate sitting area. Nice if you have visitors like we did. A short walk over the sand dune to the beach. There's a nice rooftop bar that opens at 3pm. The breakfast had eggs, bacon, waffles, great fruit bowls, yogurt and much more. We amused ourselves pretending the hotel was haunted. There's not enough outlets so I'd recommend bringing a power strip or adapter.
Great rooftop deck. Nice place to grab a few cocktails. Staff are great. It's small and can be very crowded. The food is good but it takes hours to get it. We usually just drink here and grab a pizza at Vs.
Was disappointed at first that there are no balconies on your room, and the pillows suck, but everything else is awesome. Views are amazing and the breakfast is a-1. I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to family and friends.
We are very grateful for Casey & her staff at the beautiful Casa Marina venue for helping turn our dream wedding into a reality. From the start, Casey was beyond helpful with answering all of our questions and helping us coordinate our ceremony. When the big day finally came, they accommodated everything to our liking by working alongside our vendors to ensure the event went smoothly. My wife and I were also given a complimentary stay in a comfortable suite to end our night. Highly recommend!
The hotel is rundown. The excuse that it’s historic is just that, an excuse. The facility is in dire need of an overhaul. It is filthy and literally falling apart. Broken tiles, mold and mildew throughout the shower. There is no water pressure at all, took 20 min to get the shampoo out of my hair. The knob to turn the shower on was missing a piece and it was sitting in the tile. One of the employees said - it’s been soooo long since we’ve had maintenance - and it absolutely shows. Do not be fooled by the high ratings which are mostly for the restaurant. We should have been paid $179 for staying there, instead of us paying to stay. I’ve never been to such a bad hotel. Please stay elsewhere this place is disgusting. Pictures are worth a thousand words, see for yourself.
I was there for a wedding they did an excellent job with that and with the reception afterwards it was very pleasant experience
Service was very, very bad. We wanted to plan a wedding here but the staff was so unhelpful and not willing to talk with us so we decided against it. We felt like we were inconveniencing them just by asking questions that would take seconds to answer. Wasted 8 hours of driving.
One of the best views of the ocean at the beach. Even though it was busy, the staff was super friendly. It does get crowded on the weekends, which is actually good. It means it has a fantastic reputation.
Very large cracks in the walls (Room 108), water damage stains on ceiling, bathroom window casing needs repair, fire detector visably damaged (not working), window blind would not open, 2 of the three electrical outlets not working, and the sink faucet is grossly corroded This room should not be rented out. I don't know if other rooms share these problems.
Unique hotel on Jax Beach. Comfortable room and very accommodating staff. I would request a room as far away from any weddings as possible next time. Thin walls and late night partying.
My friend had her wedding there. BEAUTIFUL venue. Cocktail hour was lame. No variety.dinner was a wedding dinner nothing to brag about. Bartender was fabulous quite attentive. Would recommend for ambiance
