Restaurant Casablanca reviews
37 This place is located right on A1A on Ft. Lauderdale Beach. If you are expecting the "where the boys are" ambiance Ft. Lauderdale used to be known for, forget it. The clientele was decidedly $49 airfare tourists -from New Jersey. The crowd behaved as though they were at a basketball game.
The restaurant itself, a converted older residence, has awful acoustics; it is impossible to relax and have a real conversation over dinner. Enjoying the view was out of the question. The windows hadn't been washed in ages and were more translucent than transparent.
The food itself was ok. As usual, I played it safe and ordered a burger. My companions ordered shank of lamb and eggplant ravioli. If you want lamb, go to a Middle Eastern specialty place. My friend, born in Egypt, makes a much better one. The eggplant ravioli was more of a soup.
Service was alright, if millennial impersonal is your style.
Then there's the parking issue. Parking is a public lot down the side street, one that is grim by daylight and no doubt scary at night, judging by the kind of debris by the bushes. Somebody had quite a time there!
There are many nice places to eat in Ft. Lauderdale; this isn't one of them.
Food was great, the service was absolutely terrible but I think it was the waiter I had. The waiter that ended up helping us most of the dinner was way better.
Cute little breakfast spot on the A1A right across from the beach. Our waiter took such good care of us and had us laughing. Brunch here is a must!
This restaurant was beautiful! I loved the outdoor seating and atmosphere. The staff was very friendly and nice. I would highly recommend this place to everyone! Keep up the good work!
Excellent food, Excellent service, nice views of the ocean across the street. Among the many tasty entrees, I am partial to the sea scallops.
I cannot say how much I enjoyed visiting this restaurant. Really great atmosphere & service. Our waiter Michael was amazing as well. Super attentive & funny too! I have been to Casablanca before but with different waitstaff. Not that they weren’t good but Mike made it that much more special. Ask for him when you go! All around really great experience.
Casablanca was phenomenal! I cannot stress this enough. The prices for the area were very reasonable and the food was delicious. I am salivating right now thinking of the food there. I ordered the Lamb Pita and it was incredible. I had a bite of my girlfriend’s burger which was cooked perfectly. This spot is perfect. I wanted to go to it again as soon as I left the restaurant. That’s rare for me to say. The decor and atmosphere was equally amazing.
My sisters and I had a great experience at the restaurant! We will definitely come back. Daniela was very nice and friendly to us! Best best best service!
I would highly recommend this restaurant!
Went with my family for dinner and enjoyed every second at this place. We had Daniela as our server, who was so nice and patient! The food was amazing as always. I highly recommend this restaurant:) x
Our group enjoyed the burgers, chicken cuesadia, and the fried fish sandwich. Everyone enjoyed their meals.
Labor Day weekend we decided to visit Fort Lauderdale, and we stayed at the Conrad. During our stay, we had the opportunity to have dinner at the Casablanca Cafe. Let me tell you it was terrific! Zac our server was on top of everything. He had a refreshing sense of humor, didn't hover nor did we ever need to be looking for him. Thank you, Zac! I know reviews can be all over the place and people complain when things go wrong, and rarely praise people for doing well. I wanted to take a moment to acknowledge Gregory (Greg) the Manager on duty. I have had my share of jobs in the service industry, retail, restaurant, and other areas. It was a real pleasure to see Greg leading this staff. It was a fast-paced evening, and I noticed Greg everywhere, helping with everything, ensuring the guests were being taken care of. I've seen managers stand around thinking their title put them above the menial tasks of running a business, but this was not the case with Greg. We were so impressed with our experience I had to turn around walk back to the restaurant and ask the hostess for the manager's name. He noticed that he had guests returning and immediately came to the desk to make sure everything was fine. Greg leads his team, managed the floor and was fully aware of all that was happening. Excellent experience! The food was incredible, but the staff and the service is the reason we will return to the Casablanca Cafe anytime we visit Fort Lauderdale. Thank you again Zac & Greg you guys are ROCK STARS!
Very good food and good service. Very nice outdoor seating area. Try sitting on balcony for less traffic noise and better view of water.
Great atmosphere. Awesome views and professional staff. Oh and the food was awesome. Doesnt get any better. Check it out.
Great service on the busiest day of the year. Food service was great, highly skilled chef and staff. Visit from sever was often but not overly, just the right amount. Fantastic view, the crowd was courteous and polite. Live piano in the bar plenty of seats.
Do they need a review? No, but I'm giving them one!
Beautiful & cozy, professional staff, friendly host, amazing food and view, and great prices. No wonder people wait in line to come here! (Addt'l info: We sat outside, in the middle of July (Hot/Humid weather) and it was totally worth it!)
Sit outside and enjoy the view. Great food, service. The parking is not so great. The staff is always friendly.
Extremely loud and cramped seating. The management team was aware that we had a large party, and their attempt to cater to us was definitely unsuccessful. There was no room on the tables for our food, there was no room for the servers to navigate around the tables without constantly hitting somebody in the head or stepping on our feet. I was very disappointed.
Delicious order I have tried:
* Phyllo wrapped baked brie.
* peppecorn dusted filet mignon.
Its not a cheap restaurant. Even the staff are amazing
Excellent swordfish with mashed potatoes and crisp veggies! Wine and dine indoor/or outdoor autmoshepre is wonderful! Try the calamari and fresh suggestions from the waiter. Nice ocean view! Small quaint little place right off the boardwalk. Live piano performances to accentuate the mood.
Great food, great view, great service. Checks all the boxes in my book. The talented musicians that play every night are a bonus.
