Cates-Smith, Pamela, M.D., Orlando FL

I loved this Doctor, she was friendly, kind & smiling. I would recommend her to anyone for Ob/Gyn.

While the imaging center staff is polite, courteous, and communicative, the office staff in Dr. Cates-Smith private practice do not exhibit concern for their individualized patients’ needs, while taking into account their medical history and current diagnoses.

After discussing my personal preferences, medical history, and current symptoms of hyperemesis gravidarum with the care coordinator via phone, I wasn’t offered reassurance, validation or relief. I was offered the same prescription I was already given (even after having expressed my personal preferences regarding this medication) and I was told that “there is nothing else we can do other than what you and we have been doing”.

Upon questioning the severity of my symptoms and expressing my fear of being hospitalized due to being unable to “weather” my morning sickness and vomiting all solids/liquids for 3+ days, I was not recommended to see my doctor sooner than the appt that was scheduled for 9 days out.

I feel VERY uncared for and invalidated during my first pregnancy and first experience with Orlando health for their lack of customer service, professionalism over the phone (and no, eating while speaking is not polite just because we can’t see your mouth full of food), and overall lack of compassion and empathy for their patients.

Although Dr. Cates-Smith herself is a good doctor, she rushes her patients out after they waited 90+ minutes for her. I’ll be seeking treatment from an alternative practice and doctor due to these negative experiences.

Dr. Cates-Smith was recommended to me by my primary physician and I am so glad she was. I visited her for the first time last week and I LOVED it. The front desk ladies were so nice and attentive. Dr. Cates-Smith was so personable, caring, and she listened to all of my concerns and addressed all of my needs. She made me feel so comfortable throughout the entire appointment, it almost didn’t feel like I was at the doctor’s. In contrast to some of the other reviews, I only waited maybe 20 minutes max before I was called back and I was in and out of the office in under an hour total. The office was very clean and Covid compliant. 10/10 would recommend to anyone.

I love Dr. Cates she is amazing and doesn't hurt me she listens and laugh's overall she's great.
The staff was attentive in person as well.
However, via phone and after the appointment not so much.
My results took over 3weeks and I left multiple voicemails and patient portal messages!
Took many days to respond in regards.
It's Unacceptable when it comes to your overall female organs and health.

I get it new system and new ways. No excuse as this happened to me before.

They have some great receptionists but one in particular CINDY or Sidney has the worst attitude ever. She does not listen to the client. Cates office is not the same she is with advent health with rude and insensitive front desk employees. Your now just a number, the personal connection is gone. Go there at your own risk.

I’ve been visiting this office for a couple years. In that time I’ve had multiple problems with them sending the correct prescription. At the moment im still trying to get the correct prescription from my appt that was almost a month ago. If you have an appt you will wait 30 mins to be called back and then you will wait 20 mins for the doctor to come see you.

The Drs are all nice and I love Dr. Carter but they are the absolute worst to contact I’ve been put on hold for over an hour, hung up and called again to tell them and they were just like oh okay one second and put me on another hold till someone picked up.

The office is nice and clean, staff are polite. Dr. Cates-Smith is very friendly, understanding and very professional. She makes you feel welcome, she answers all your questions before you leave the office. I Would definitely recommend her services.

I had my first ob appointment with Dr. Pamela which then got changed to her nurse practitioner Tina Aptone last minute. Tina was very nice But unfortunately sent my prescriptions to a Publix when in the paperwork I stated a Walgreens near my house with the correct address and information. The office staff was extremely rude even while I kept using my manners when speaking to them. I’m pregnant and I’m in no mood to be a victim of you having a bad day or hating your job. First and last time I will be there

Update: I have seen other doctors by the same medical group and have never been treated this way. I suggest looking somewhere else even if it is a drive.

I haven’t even had an appointment with these people yet I have one booked for next week which I had to wait a whole month for and I went to the hospital and they told me I need to go see my obgyn in the next 2 days because I was bleeding so I call and the lady told me there’s nothing they could do about it because they are all booked up? !? Like what type of doctors are these people now I have to go to the hospital again because they won’t squeeze me in today or tomorrow they don’t care about their patients at ALL!

My daughter gets the best treatment at this OB office. The ladies at the front desk are friendly, the wait was about 1 hour but it’s worth it. I am very pleased how my daughter Ebony is treated. The Dr is always pleasant and caring plus smiling. Pamela is wonderful I’m so pleased with the services she provides.

Currently 8 months pregnant every appointment I’ve been to I’ve had to wait at least 2 hours no matter how early I come just to see the doctor for 10 minutes it’s ridiculous! Appointment set for 9: 45 I will be here till 12: 00 pm for a regular check up. It’s gotten so bad I considered just not coming back for the rest of my pregnancy very unprofessional front desk always has a attitude, not friendly at all.

I have had some trouble finding good doctors on my insurance plan and I feel fortunate to have found Dr. Cates-Smith. She is kind, intelligent, and capable. I have had one surgery with her and if I needed another I would absolutely trust her again. I come to appointments prepared to wait a little while, it’s an acceptable trade off to have a doctor I am comfortable with. I have had good experiences with the office staff. They are very busy but everyone has always been professional and helpful.

As much as I was told that she is a great physician, I will never have that experience for myself. I made a new patient appointment almost 2 months in advance. The day of my appointment I waited over an hour to be seen, eventually I cancelled the appointment because I couldn't wait any longer. The front office staff was nice and tried their best, but waiting over an hour is just unacceptable. I won't go back. It's just not worth it.

I don't know where to start, this doctor destroyed what was supposed to be the best memories by her negligence, it's been a year now and I'm still suffering from pain over her negligence, doesn't listen to how you feel, was almost always absent, I ended up with big complications after the surgery because of her.
