Cattle Dog Coffee Roasters, Hernando FL

I have been a frequent customer of Cattle Dog for over a decade. I have visited all of the locations and absolutely love this place. You will too.

I visited this location hopping the croissants were good, They are less flaky and less layers, not like they used to be.
They had a seasonal eggnog cinamon cake that was amazing. The employee seem nice and recommended it.
So happy I tried it, too bad is seasonal only.

I used to be a loyal dunkin customer until some friends introduced me to Cattledogs … there’s just no comparison … Cattledogs is my go to! The coffee, lattes, bakery items and food just everything is so so good! It would have been an easy 5 star review until today. Cattledogs is pricey but you get what you pay for but today was just totally ridiculous. They give you one 1 oz cream cheese with your bagel, that’s not nearly enough so I asked for two, I almost fell over when they told me the price was $1.25 for an extra 1 oz container do cream cheese! I knew that was SUPER overpriced but I went online to confirm and it’s sickening to see just how over priced that is. Cattledogs, yes you should charge a little more due to the quality of products you provide but consider pricing on certain items such as the cream cheese. This is enough to make me not go back, its extremely unreasonable!

The lattes are really good, but this location is way too small, way too busy and the staff is a bit unfriendly. I don't have 25+ minutes to wait in line for a coffee in the morning (as the line is always out the door), so I often wait until I get closer to work and grab a Starbucks. I also love their food. The chicken salad sandwich for lunch is very yummy and so is the sausage, egg and cheese croissant for breakfast. You just need to put more sausage on the breakfast croissant as I only get sausage in about 20% of the bites I take since they take a single sausage link and cut it into 4's to make an odd square shape. I don't care for just an egg and cheese center and this method is a little stingy in my opinion.

Food was always good.
But customer service could be improved from the owner. During the initial COVID outbreak, you could order online and they would walk the meals to your car. I had ordered a couple times and that's the way it was. Then a couple months later I got COVID myself, I was sick and didn't want to cook so I ordered there. I drove up to get my order and called to let them know I was there. Then they told me they no longer will walk meals out to the car.
I told them I was COVID positive and really sick and I did not feel comfortable walking through the place filled with older adults. They just told me to wear a mask.
So I did not get out of my car and get my order.
I have not been back.

I called and they could not refund my order. They left a gift card for me at the register, which I never picked up. They can give it to someone else.

Great local spot for coffee or tea! Customer service is great; whenever I have an issue, it’s always corrected for no additional charge. Employees are alright however my favorites are James (Owner), Ally, Savannah, and Arwen. Four stars are due to certain experiences that I’ve had with employees who were not very friendly and no Vegan options.

Small town coffee shop, big time flavor. They serve the most delicious coffee! I’ll probably order some breakfast or lunch next time I pass by, I’m sure it’ll be just as good as the coffee.

I like this place. Good coffee and a.good selection. Didn't eat anything but it looked good! Probably the best and one of the only cafes to sit and enjoy a coffee. Go here.

Sweet little hometown coffee shop. I am new to the area and I am used to Starbucks. I moved from a very populated area where Starbucks is on every corner. I was very nervous to move to an area that may not have good coffee options, but so far so good. I am happy to support a small business over the large corporate companies and they are a bit cheaper than Starbucks which is always a plus. Try them out they are worth the stop!

James, this is for you buddy. I appreciate the time you took to sit down and chat with me that one day about, a situation. This is the first visit back at this location with my whole family since then. We appreciate halving these locations to come in sip coffee and chat about the insanity of the day’s troubles. The workers seems to be in good spirits! Take care buddy!

Wife and I had chicken sandwiches, coffee and Cranberry bread. All was delicious. Sat outside and ate.
Women behind counter was very helpful. We will return.

No matter the faces behind the counter, no matter the time of day-or the menu I always feel like I am coming home when I walk in the door. Cattle dog is no doubt where friends come to meet, and no doubt where you will find friends for your tastebuds. James has competed in several contests and always come out on top, let the food speak for itself and take a bite!

I have been coming here for years and just recently my barista has been this rude lady with purple glasses and reddish hair.i get it if you're having a bad day, but please dont take it out on your customers!

My favorite place to go when we are in Florida. Small coffee shop, delicious coffees, lattes and cappuccinos. They have select sandwiches and pastries as well. If you go, you have to get a cronut! Yes a cronut! It is a croissant and donut fused together and delicious!

Stopped by for stocking stuffers & had my mind blown. Always prefer local coffee shops/roasters & I have to admit Cattle Dog is almost overwhelming with choices. Yes, they have food & a nice selection of loose leaf teas, but I'm all about the coffee. Left the store with 12 oz.bags each of Panamanian regular & Costa Rican decaf for under $30. The bulk of coffee they offer is whole bean, but they will grind your beans while you wait for whichever method of brewing you prefer (espresso, pour over, drip, etc.).

The store is very quaint & clean. Convenient, free parking. Plenty of indoor seating as well as a few outdoor tables. Staff is extremely helpful & super friendly. If you're having trouble selecting a bean, they can definitely steer you in the right direction. If there's something you want you don't see on the shelves (Costa Rican Decaf with Vanilla for example), they can have it within a day or two straight from their local warehouse.

Very fair priced & will blow the taste of your favorite grocer's store-bought out of the water. I highly recommend you give these guys (& gals) a try. You won't be disappointed!

My husband and I just moved to Homosassa and today was our first visit to Cattle Dogs Coffee. I wasn't familiar with the menu and the lady that waited on us was very friendly or helpful. I order two latte and wanted to order a muffin but she gave my total before I could order anything else. The coffee was good the service wasn't. I miss the friendly service of Starbucks.

I had the New Englandah Burgah this evening, and it was perfectly delicious. Enjoyed a hot Chai tea latte with it. Very good.

Coffee is good. Staff is so rude. The lady that took my order made me the wrong size coffee and began to argue with me about it. Won't be coming back.

Love this coffee shop. Unfortunately, there aren't many places around Citrus County where you can go to study or get work done, besides the Panera in Inverness. Luckily, this coffee shop is great. Their food is fantastic, coffee tastes amazing, and the service is unparalleled.

The only downside is sometimes it gets pretty busy and loud. But when you're a business, busy and loud is a good problem to have so I can't blame them!

Overall, this will definitely my go to spot for studying and/or having meetings. The prices are a tad bit on the higher side but justified with the taste and quality of their products, which is why i don't mind paying it

Omg! Awesome café with great food and the best coffee. Better than Starbucks. That’s hard to beat. Awesome service and really cute little spot. We lived here for two years and never knew about it
