Steak and cheese is their specialty. Bread is great. Plenty of TV's for game day. Charan's has been in Tampa for a long time for a good reason.

The food is always consistant, super busy or slow! Love their steak sandwiches, curly fries and just everything! All the servers and personnel are super, but Jamie is our favorite. A must visit for a sandwiches and sports event. Or just a relaxing beer or cocktail.

Love the peppers and I wish Sharon would put him back on the counter sole them out while we're drinkin beer

Classic place in tampa for a steak sandwhich. I don't eat meat anymore and they even have an excellent veggie sandwich as well now. Bar food, bar games and tons of tvs. Service is always good as well.

Beef nacho's were awsome! Freshly fried chips with shaved steak and fresh toppings. Restrooms were modern and clean. Good Craft beer selection. My date liked the place also.

For the most part it's pretty nice place to go eat they have drinks nice patio off sides are usually pretty quiet

The owner of our company used to fly down from Pennsylvania and eat here because he said they had the best Philly Steak Sandwiches he ever had. Need I say more? I like mine sweet with extra cheese - Yum

Hadn't been here in almost 20 years! We sat outside on a Sat.afternoon, server was overworked and not happy! Drafts hit the spot, but were not $2 as advertised. Split Charlie Special & cheesesteak, same as we used to order, but cheese not melted enough on Charlie, and didn't realize tomatoes on cheesesteak, not typical mushrooms, odd. Added onion rings, they were good. Didn't get chips & slaw as advertised. Overall food was good, but won't need to go out of our way to visit again necessarily.

Steak sandwich went down hill ever since they moved to this location. I used to go when it was down the street on Hillsborough and on the Causeway and it was outstanding - shame. Good local place for some brews, meeting up with friends, and enjoying some sports

I remember now why it is that it took me 8 months to come back. Servers are extremely polite and friendly, but overworked and therefore service is slow.

Food is pretty abysmal. Calamari (almost $9) was pre frozen, bland, and nearly as much breading as calamari.

Burger ordered medium came over well done. Fries are frozen not fresh, bacon had little flavor. Reuben was decent.

Probably won't be back.

Unsure if this place should be known as the place to eat steak sandwiches or the place to eat tater tots. I think I enjoy the tater tots more than the steak sandwiches so be it. The best tater tots in the State of Florida if not the southeast.

After all these years still the best have no fear. The original steak sandwich is your best bet!

I've been eating at Char end since 1973. They have been consistent with their pepper steak sandwich. It has always been delicious and the tea is good.

Best cheesesteaks in Tampa. A little pricey but the best upscale sports bar in Tampa. Just wish it were more centrally located.

Very disappointed. Ordered a $10 hamburger. Came out raw. Ordered medium. I ate around the edges to avoid the blood. It was terrible. I was on my lunch hour. Not time to send it back. Complained and got a whopping 10% discount. Fries were nasty ranging from warm to a raw/ green taste. Ice tea $2.50. So with a small tip I spent over 14 dollars for a nasty burger. The clientele were all old men age 70 plus. All nursing their beers and highballs and reaking of tobacco. Saw one old man smoke his electronic as I suffered through my burger experience. The bartender who took my order waited 10 minutes to put it in so she could be sure to serve more drinks. Then when food came out she took 5 to 7 minutes before she served me. The chair I sat in looked like it had been through a Tsunami. This was a very sad experience. I will NEVER go back again. I also have noticed that the owner and or manager does not read these reviews or at least does not respond to these reviews. That says a lot. It says they don't care. And that was very obvious to me.

Yes, this is the same Charann's that use to be on Courtney Campbell Causeway! Same great hot steak sandwich! Now they're at Hillsborough and Memorial.

Food is basic bar food.lots of fried frozen stuff. Drinks are okay but can be a little expensive. However, the service is always great. Never had an empty glass.

The chicken sandwich was great, but the crowd was loud and obnoxious. There were kids running around screaming and no one did anything about it. I'm sure the rest of the food is good, as I've been told from others, but I wouldn't go back.
