Charley's Steak House, Tampa FL

Delicious! Food and great service. The cedar plank salmon was yum! Daryl and Adonis were great. Thx for the laughs Daryl, you're hilarious!

My husband and i visited for our 18 yr anniversary we made reservations and still had to wait 15 mins.our table had a sweet card on it and the waiter was pleasant. The steak had lots of grissle on it and i had the snapper.which had very minimal hints of the mango Salas. Needless to say it was very over priced for the quality.

It was one of the best steakhouse experiences that I ever had. First and foremost, the service was incredible. I started with the smoked old-fashioned cocktail, which was perfect. We shared the calamari and gator bites appetizers, which were delicious. For my main course, I had The Bison ribeye, which was cooked to a perfect medium rare. We also had the garlic cheese mashed potatoes and creamed corn. The server suggested a cabernet that paired perfectly with my steak. All and all a truly outstanding experience.

Decided to come here with some friends and family for my birthday! This is the first time here for me.

Overall this is a good place but would I come back… maybe once every two to three years.

The server was very good and very attentive. He did forget a few things but fixed it immediately when we asked again. He did a good job of going over the description of all of the steaks. We ordered the filet minion, porterhouse, and the angus rib eye. The porterhouse was well seasoned and tender. The filet was also tender and did not have any fat. However, the rib eye was not juicy or tender as I like it normally. I would not order it again.

When ordering the sides, the portions are good for only 2 people. Maybe 3 if everyone only has one small serving each. We order the broccoli and they were so soft and mushy that they felll apart like when you try to pick it up with a fork. I like my broccoli with a little crunch to them.

The house salad that came with the entree was wilted and at room temperature. I am not sure if it meant to served this way. I am used to having a cold and crisp salad. Maybe it is meant for you to buy up to one of the other salads on the menu?

The calamari appetizer was delicious and cooked right. It was not over cooked. They cooked it with the right ingredients including peppers and other seasoning. Many other places just deep fried the calamari and just throw it on the plate. The bad part is that they give you such a small portion.

The place was very dark so I couldn’t really see the menu without using the phone flashlight. I would recommend making it a little brighter. It was kind of a depressing atmosphere being so dark.

Overall it is a decent steak house. For being a higher end priced steakhouse, there are other places that give you a better value and ambiance.

We had such a great time in Charlie’s steak house with our family. We celebrated my sister in law birthday. The steak was delicious and also the appetizers we ordered. This was our first time here but we will love to go back again. Did not take much pictures of the food.

The staff was as amazing as the food. The atmosphere was very comfortable and spacious. The presentation from our waiter was impressive, and the steaks presentation had me wanting them all.

The food was great, first time eating at a high end steak house. I knew going into it that prices would be expensive, but at least for items I am more familiar with from other places it seemed to be fairly priced for what you got. We went for our 6 year anniversary and the service was excellent and every staff member we had contact with wished us a happy anniversary. As for the food, we went all out, starting with the calamari and the gator bites. The calamari was nice and tender, the peppers too hot for me personally but good. The gator bites were amazing, the lemon flavor on them combined with the horseradish sauce they give you was a perfect pairing. We got the bacon and blue cheese added to one of our salads and omg you have to do that, the bacon is thick cut and delicious and the blue cheese was great (and more than enough for both of our salads). I was told by many friends I had to order the cedar plank cauliflower and it was delicious, but you do have to like cauliflower (the husband hates cauliflower so this delicious leftover is all mine). Husband got the mishima reserve wagyu and I got the dry aged ribeye (definitely could have split either one but we wanted to get to try both). Surprisingly, I loved the ribeye way more, and he loved the wagyu more. Got the truffle butter teriyaki with mushrooms added to the ribeye and it is amazing. Husband also got lobster tail, and personally I've had better but I've been to Boston numerous times. Definitely the best lobster I've had in FL, and he said it was the best he'd ever had. I also got both of their old fashioned's and they were both amazing, I love tequila and whiskey so the anejo old fashioned may not be for everyone but the presentation is amazing. I was also told I had to get the butter cake by friends, and the waiter recommended it as well, so we had tons of to go boxes already but ordered 2 butter cakes to go and when I got home and snuck a bite I could not stop at one bite, it was amazing.

Update: Took my father here a year later. He had a margarita and the maduro cigar city beer on draft. First of all, any margarita made with fresh lime is fantastic- and it was strong. The beer, however, was the best maduro he had had before, and after a sip I agreed. We've had it draft before, but it was just more flavorful this time. Lastly, we went ahead and ordered the porkchops and they are HUGE. Realistically this place isn't pricey considering quantity and quality received. We will be going back:) I'm now obligated to always get the buttercake to go for friends or co-workers now too since it's so delicious, dense, and big.

It was our first time dining at Charley's and both my husband and myself were extremely impressed! We had great service and everyone we came in contact with was very pleasant which is a great plus! We both ordered the 24 oZ porterhouse which was delicious and we really enjoyed the salad they give you and loved the broccoli and lobster Mac and cheese apps! Honestly no complaints- we will definitely be back and would recommend to others for sure!

Was our first time. The service was great. Dan and Dalila did a great job taking care of us for our son's MBA celebration. The food though. For what I spent, my expectation was way higher. That was NOT a $100 ribeye. Dry, over cooked and not great flavor. We were asked several times how the food was and each time I answered meh ok, but I believe they only heard the rest of the families polite answers.

My recommendation is save your money and get better food at Longhorn or Jesse's. Ver disappointed and wishing I had my $1k back.

This is our go to place for the best steak, delicious drinks and attentive service! Celebrated my birthday there and had the best dinner with my family!

My boyfriend and I had an incredible dinner to celebrate his birthday. The staff was so lovely in wishing him a happy birthday. All of our food was outstanding! We ordered a porterhouse, ny strip, broccoli and lobster Mac & cheese sides and had plenty to take for leftovers the next day. On top of our food being delicious, our server Brooke was phenomenal. She was knowledgeable, sweet, quick, and very professional. We appreciated her service greatly and felt she made a massive positive impact on our dining experience! Charley’s is definitely one of our favorite restaurants now and look forward to visiting again.

Over priced? Why yes it is. Can you find a better tasting steak in Tampa? Why no you can't. Outstanding service and best steaks in town make it worth it. Plus it's a cool resturant inside.

I went for my birthday last month and had one of the best experiences. The food was phenomenal, wine selection was fantastic and the service was great.

2nd time dining at this location. The first time was 5 stars all the way. This time, my wife and I both ordered the 8 ounce filet. She had the filet special of the evening with lobster, and I ordered the filet with bearnaise and a side of potatoes au gratin. My filet was perfectly cooked at medium and was amazing. My potatoes we also absolutely amazing! My wife, on the other hand, received a med well filet and overcooked lobster when she ordered medium. The two filets were visibly different cooking temperatures. Bottle of wine choice with the meal was Twomey Pino noir, which turned out to be an excellent choice. Highly recommend. As for the atmosphere, just a little on the noisy side. In closing, my wife and I will still return for a third visit.

Lovely place! We had an amazing experience with everything. Food was amazing and the service was on Pluto. Definitely coming back.

Hands down, the best two steaks we've ever had. Bison Ribeye and Wagyu Filet. Medium Rare, of course.

Cocktails top notch too.

Went to this place with a friend. Simply put, everything here was awesome, atmosphere, food, and service. The person who I came with said they had the best steak he's ever eaten.

I love steaks and eating out. I’ve tried every single steakhouse in Tampa, and this place is by far, the best steakhouse in Tampa. It blows the other overrated steakhouse (rhymes with Erns) out of the water, in service, food, and atmosphere.

I’m on the fence with this place, I haven’t visited the one nearby yet. I’ve dined at some nice places, at my expense, a few times in my lifetime.

I tried doing a mock order on their website and read about every page about the restaurant just to get an idea what would get me to go inside.

The service fee on the bill discouraged me; only because the experience and service was included before any interaction took place.

We had a wonderful time at Charley’s! Was our first time here for our anniversary and we thoroughly enjoyed it. Our server was Brooke and she was extremely helpful and pleasant. The house salad and cheese rolls were excellent. I got the 12 oz filet and my husband got the 24 porterhouse with added crabmeat. We got the lobster Mac and cheese to share and it was wonderful. They left a nice letter on the table for our anniversary along with providing a nice desert. Definitely recommend.
